Chapter 28 - Sakata

After Satasha fell from Olympus escaping, she lost consciousness surrendering to fate, Sakata panicked, his mother is falling to her death, if only he could do something. He tried to make a port gate as he saw Yamazaki do but to no avail, he had no power, as he panicked a thought occurred to him 'But Satasha has one!'

He calmed himself trying to get grasp of her powers and shortly he did, he managed to make a port gate just before she could hit the ground.

Thud....

A loud bang echoed for a mile as Satasha's body slammed the lake surface sending waves of water to it's shore. Her body floated on its surface for a day before one of the farmers had the courage to get her out of it.

That farmer thought that she was dead due to her injury but to his surprise she was breathing, he took her back to his house to recover but his wife told him that she was a bad omen "She fell from the sky my love! You think that's normal? Let's take her to the temple they'll know what to with her"

The farmer was convinced, he placed her on the cart covering her in thick blanket and went to the temple.

After reaching it he asked from Untar to help him carry her, Untar carried her with ease all the way to Ishtar room.

Ishtar was aghast once she saw her "She fell from the sky?" she asked the farmer

The farmer bowing low "Yes your honor! It happened two days ago! I don't know how she remained alive after that fall and her injury is somewhat healing on it's own"

Ishtar glanced at Untar, he took the farmer out and gave him a sum of money.

Ishtar used her power to scan her core, once she saw into it she flinched "Impossible!" when Untar came back she ordered him to find her a room and to treat her wounds.

Sakata witnessed the whole process anxiously waiting for Satasha to wake up, he helplessly waited for her to recover. Soon Satasha woke up and met everyone at the temple, they were nice to her and showed her kindness that she needed.

After a while Ishtar suggested that Satasha should try to remember her past in the mirrors room, Sakata didn't know if that was the right decision for her, after all her past is painful. When Satasha entered the room and started to remember her past, Sakata began to see something entirely different, like his memories was separated from hers, memories he didn't know he possessed.

After few sessions Sakata realized that these memories are what Mika was desperately trying to suppress in him. Things seemed different now for him, he felt resentment and uncontrollable anger that reflected on Satasha also as she killed the merchant with such brutality.

When Satasha unleashed her powers the boundaries that kept him from her was destroyed, and once she lost consciousness Sakata remembered everything...

Everything...

Sakata's real identity was none other than Sameal. His consciousness had traveled from the future back to the vessel because his real body was sealed in the garden. Sameal felt disgusted by his simple mind believing the lies of Mika and Lucifer, then again he was suspicious on how they managed to seal him in child's body and suppressing both of his powers and memories.

'They aren't strong enough to do that! Who did this!' he thought 'Was it Mark or Angrboda? Or it was another one? I can't remember well'

...

"Who are you?" Satasha asked him when their conscious intertwined after her body sensed the presence of a foreign soul "How did you get here?" she inquired

Sameal "I am The Fallen and you are my vessel?"

Satasha mocked "Vessel? I don't remember accepting you"

Sameal "It doesn't matter now if you remember or not, this body belongs to me from this day forward"

Satasha sneered "Listen here grandpa! This is my body and I am not handing it to some old creep!"

Sameal scoffed "You got some nerve to talk back! Once I get my body back I'll make sure to give you the best reward you can ever dream of"

Satasha disgusted "Your threats are as hollow as your brain! Now leave this body at once"

Sameal "I've reach my limits now" using his power he threw spear at her, the spike turned to chains once it stabbed her

"Hey!" she yelled "What do think you're doing? Release me at once!"

Sameal cupped her chin hard as he spoke "Listen here brat I am going to use this body till it rots out if you keep this attitude going! Don't think that I'll hesitate killing you for a second if I hear another snarky comment"

Satasha was baffled by his audacity "Pussy!" she cussed with a grin

Sameal started to choke her, but the more he squeeze the more pain he felt, it was odd, nothing like this happened before when he possessed Ananke.

Satasha coughed once he released her, she giggled "Is that the best you can do? What was that some quirky thing you like to do so you can erect" she stared victoriously "Ha... Pathetic!"

Sameal didn't reply to her, he took hold on her body and started to plot, he first needed to know who remained loyal to him but when he opened his eyes he saw Keno and the others.

'bunch of Misfits' he thought at first then noticed that Keno cared about her, so he acted like a desperate girl that needed guidance just how he liked.

"Stop flirting with Keno using my body! It makes me feel sick" Satasha commented

"Don't tell me you like young boys!" she exclaimed when she saw how he spoke with Zeta

"Don't tell me that you're collecting a harem of young boys for yourself!" she scorned when he spoke with Lucifer

"You are gathering all the men that I don't like into this harem of yours" she babbles "At least if you want to use my body for your personal preference have someone decent to include"

Sameal tired of her nonsense "Till when you're going to continue this act?"

Satasha proudly "Hey I am bored okay! You tied both of my hands what am I supposed to do? Observe quietly?"

Sameal "That would be nice if you could do that"

Satasha scoffed "Yeah keep dreaming!"

Sameal "Just stay calm and observe, you might learn something useful"

During the meeting in the tent before the trial Satasha observed the gathering "Mika was so lovely when he was young"

Sameal shifted his gaze to him, he didn't know him before he was imprisoned and got curious on his capabilities other than that he knows of.

'A wild card huh?' he thought 'I need to end this fast enough to continue my search'

He was trying his best to concentrate through her endless babbling and it infuriates him that he can't shun her down without harming himself in the process.

Satasha was using this strategy to distract him from her real aim, trying to gain back control, and by the time the meeting ended she had successfully broken free from the leash that he placed on her.

"Give me back my body or l'll drag you to the depths of hellfire myself!" she threatened once she got grip on him

Sameal was amazed by her, he underestimated her capabilities and wit, she used chatter as a way of distraction and he fell for it. He thought that having shared consciousness would allow him to read her thoughts but he was wrong, she can successfully hide both of her feelings and thoughts from him and he felt threatened.

Everything seems different from his experience with Ananke and after recalling, even when his consciousness awakened after she drowned, he had never seen into her thoughts, not once.

The question was 'Can she read into my thoughts as well?' he waited to see her reaction but nothing changed in her, just as she had always been a cold and translucent, you can see her but not her true colors.

The fact that she could perfectly hide her nature from him amazed him, he applauded her abilities and let her continue doing it just so he can find out what else she's capable of.

During the trial she was offly quiet, perhaps knowing that he was trying to save both of them made her calm a bit but her attempt to contact Mika disappointed him, he thought that perhaps she had grew wiser but his hopes were too high.

'After all she's a teenager, a rebellious cunt trying to prove herself' he thought

'I thought highly of you, yet you disappointed me'

The days went by as he kept possessing her, it was known now for Zeta and Lucifer who he was and they did nothing to stop it. Satasha kept observing indifferent as if she was not even there, Sameal felt bit of freedom yet he remained cautious with not letting his guard down.

One day after he started to travel with Lucifer the body began failing him, he knew immediately that she was the one doing so, he tried to seize back control but was stopped immediately by her, this internal war continued till the body collapsed on the ground.

"Like what I did there?" she sneered

Sameal "What a shitty place to die! Didn't you hear that they might come after you as well?"

Satasha indifferent "Yes and I genuinely don't care actually!"

Sameal scoffed "Yeah right, and what are your plans huh? Stay like this till I give in and make you take back control?"

Satasha truthfully "I don't want to take back control of this body with you in it! Let us die together instead"

Sameal snarked "Die?! I don't die kid remember"

Satasha calmly "Neither do I"

Sameal "So you plan to stay like this?"

Satasha didn't answer instead she completely shunned herself and suppressed her life force willingly, Sameal voice couldn't reach her even if he shouted, and so he kept observing as she went hibernating.

After Lu and his minions showed up it was Sameal that fought out of frustration because Satasha didn't budge, he hardly controlled her body and it backlashed on him greatly.

Sameal understood now how dangerous she can be to him if he kept existing in the same body as her, he pretended to give her back control because he knew their next destination is the northern temple; where his loyalists resides.

He tried to probe into her as she took advantage of his attempt to make Lucifer his follower, indeed Lucifer is a great vessel candidate and having him on her side helps, Sameal predicted that Zeta is her next target, since Zeta was the first to ever judge his actions directly back then.

Then the opportunity came when they spiked her with the metal rod that completely chain her soul away, he was now in control, her attempt to destroy her self terrified him a bit but he knew now that she is no ordinary opponent, he has to break her will first, starting with Ishtar whom she fully trusts.

Even if she tried to show indifference he could sense her sadness and resentment, the spike made her attempts to destroy the body rather feeble, he knew that she'd stop at nothing till she either get him out or destroy him with her, he may not die but it will have a deep effects on him even if he gets back to his original body, he only needs to make sure that she can't reach out to Zeta.

Having an unpredictable opponent is the worst thing one could ask for, even if Sameal knew that she might communicate with Zeta, he didn't know when she'll do it, her silence was lethal and her calculations remained a mystery, the sudden outburst back in the ball room that she made was throughly calculated, it didn't matter for whom she made the attempt they would immediately catch on the change of his internal force flow and know immediately what that meant.

'I am here! I refuse his dominance!' that would be the message that they'll figure out.

Having Lucifer under her spell completely devoted was a smart move, even if he was a small pawn he'd have some use later, but using Zeta's greed and Keno's hatred was by far a superior move. He wondered when did she figure out that they were the best candidate as a vessel and used that fact against him, now he has to kill both of them if he wishes to continue his search for his original body.

After her sudden outburst she went silent again lurking for the right moment, Sameal took her as a stubborn fool that do anything to get what she desires and underestimated how smart she might actually be. He now must kill them and perhaps everyone in this temple before they try to seal both of them, and his first target was Keno.

Sameal set an ambush in the bathroom waiting for him to fall for it, he sensed his hatred and knew he won't be at any use if spared, he originally wanted him to be one of his loyalties 'Another wild card' he thought, he knew nothing about him or what are his powers, but it didn't matter to him because even without Satasha's powers he'd easily beat him.

Keno on the other hand was an unusual opponent, he managed to keep up with him and gave him a hard time trying to seize a way to kill him, he was immune to mind and physical manipulation unlike the others, Sameal would have struck him dead many times if it wasn't for Satasha's intervention. Sameal was fighting both internally against Satasha and externally with Keno, and it surprised him that even with the chains she was able to both inflict harm and control both of his powers and the body.

The sudden delay in Sameal strikes gave Keno the opportunity to punch through the abdomen and perfectly destroying the metal spike in her.

Sameal froze due to Satasha's control "I underestimated you kid!" he confessed

Satasha smirked "I am honored to have you as an opponent my lord" she bowed.

Defeated Sameal fell exhausted behind allowing her to take back control, he didn't know how she did it but this fight excited him greatly, he finally found a worthy opponents. He observed how she used fragment of her power to defeat everyone, and was surprised to discover that she was able to control both time and space easily without proper training then remembered when he used her powers to make a port gate but used the wrong one and made them travel back in time.

Her powers was matching his even in her current state; exhausted and wounded, not only she crushed the whole northern temple but she was able to roam freely acting all pitiful and fooling both Zeta and Keno.

She did him a favor by searching out for his body unlike what he had imagined that she might do, she even made a deal with him to cease fighting till he get back his body.

'Wise and calculated she is, she must be handled immediately after I get back to my body' he thought

After she met Zeta they had a long conversation which he was cautious not to give her all of his knowledge, she was indeed a quick learner and a terrible enemy, he didn't anticipate that she'd stab her core with a needle made out of her blood, he didn't know when she made it nor if she had guessed out the key to binding spell before she asked, all he knew that she had put him on leash for now and his consciousness was suppressed, he didn't know what she was doing at the moment nor could break free.

It wasn't untill he felt some sense of familiarity, she had found his body and was performing a binding spell, he didn't know what were the steps but he could feel his blood entering her body and his soul nearby, he then completely blocked out.

...

After few hours Sameal woke up in the darkness of the cave feeling cold, he could barely move his legs and had to crawl into the cave entrance using one arm and his chin, it was damp and cold but he was determined to kill Satasha at once.

He scanned his core and saw part of his soul was still missing, it remained with her, he had to sit and evaluate the situation at hand, and most importantly he had to make sure his body could move before he'd act.

Sameal closed his eyes and began healing himself, he needed to rest and eat for few days before attacking other wise he'd inflict harm on his soul, but he was determined to kill her before dawn breaks, he guessed that she was also suffering internal injuries as well and now was the perfect time.

When he was able to move his body again he transmitted to the farm where he stood outside the barrier waiting. When she noticed his presence she lifted the barrier to greet him, he striked first and striked hard leaving her no time to fight back, he kept striking her till she held his arm and he jerked off feeling his soul was attacked by an unknown force, he guessed because that part of his soul remained in her.

He stepped back thinking of a way to kill her without having his soul destroyed, then came the grim reapers suddenly giving her a chance to escape, he wanted to persue her but his body failed him and he dropped unconscious on the floor. The reapers took him back to the garden where he rested there as they healed him, when he asked them why they did that once he woke up after two weeks of resting, they told him that they were following orders.

Sameal thought that they were back to be friends as they once were but his hopes were crushed, deep down he missed the days that he was able to visit Heaven and simply exist with them, he loved being the center of attention but he mostly loved being with them the reapers were his first friends he had especially Mark, he always recalled his words about staying together forever, yet he knelt that day and left him and Angrboda alone.

He despised him for many years but when they met again after the battle all his hatred disappeared and yearned for the old days where they were together.

After he showed signs of improvement the reapers left and he remained alone once again, he wished to get his full strength soon enough so he can hunt her down, but first he needs to wake his trusted allies; the knights of hell, Azazel, Ramiel, Dagon, and Lilith who once was his spouse. He has to figure out who lived and who died, the easiest one to find is Ramiel who left to live among the humans, none knew where he was except him because Sameal once blessed him with fragment of his soul so he could share eternity with.

After Mark stopped by, he went to visit Ramiel.

Ramiel lived at the great desert in the oldest structure built by humans; the molten ruins of the witch tribe, he resides in what seems a cave now.

Sameal entered uninvited and sat down on the fur couch announcing "Aren't you going to greet me or what?"

Ramiel emerged from the room bowing "My lord! What can I do for you?"

Sameal scanned his appearance, as usual he had neglected his hair length, it was very long and covering his face "You need a haircut buddy!" he suggested

Ramiel took a scarf from the chair near him and tied his hair revealing his stern red eyes and nonchalant expressions, once he finished tying his hair he sat opposing Sameal saying "I see you had broken free, how are you feeling now my lord?"

Sameal knew that he doesn't care about him, he just want to be left alone "I want to inquire about the other knights! Who remained and who died?"

"Just me!" Ramiel immediately answered

"Pardon?"

Ramiel "I am the only one left my lord!"

Sameal chuckled, the mightiest of the demon tribe died just like that, he felt angry at how incompetent they were "How did they died?" he asked

Ramiel explained "After they trapped you in the new vessel Dagon went to free you but was killed by Lilith, and Azazel died at the hands of the Valkyrie that goes by the name no. one"

Sameal interrupted "How pathetic! Where is Lilith?"

Ramiel "No one knows what happened to her after she killed Dagon"

Sameal scoffed, he got up angrily and walked away without asking for his help.

'Pathetic!' he thought 'They' re all useless piece of shit, I've wasted my time here'

He kept walking for a few minutes before stopping, he sensed something was rather off with Ramiel, he walked back to his residence.

As he speculated his hunch was right, once he walked back to his residence he saw Satasha sitting on the sofa sipping wine.

"Back already?" she snarked

Sameal walked slowly as he saw Ramiel standing behind her as if he was her servant, he sat opposite her asking "Did you brainwashed him or something?"

Satasha calmly "Don't look down on him! He's fully aware of his actions, he just had a change of heart"

Sameal addressed Ramiel "Since when you were on her side?"

Ramiel indifferent "An hour ago"

Sameal chuckled "That's amazing kid! You managed to flip him an hour ago! What did you promise him"

Satasha shrugged.

Sameal grinned "You do realize that I'll just kill him, even if you turned everyone against me that won't be enough to stop me"

Satasha smiled brightly "Let's play a game and let Ramiel be our judge"

Sameal "I am not interested in anything you say, I can just kill you both right here right now"

Satasha "No you can't! Both of us has part of your soul and none of us is willing to give it back to you without a fight, you can't just take it out of us either"

Sameal stayed silent.

She continued "The game is a survival game, one of us dies at the end but before we start it let's have some ground rules"

"A ground rules?" he mocked

"Indeed! Since it's pointless attacking one other directly let's play a game of finding all the fragments of your soul that was scattered directly and indirectly from you. The first to obtain all of the fragments kill the other"

Sameal interrupted "You didn't say what are the rules"

Satasha "They're easy to remember and follow; don't let anyone else kill you and not to use the grim reapers for anything, everything else is permitted"

Sameal "What makes you sure that I'll play this game with you?"

Satasha "Because I know how excited you are to fight me without restraints and unleashing your full potential, it excites me as well"

"You think highly of yourself! You can never win against me"

"We may never know"

Sameal "Why are you doing all of this just to have me dead? I am not the one responsible for your tribe's massacre nor your mother's death! That was Kronos"

Satasha's smile faded as she heard his name "Don't worry I have separate plans for him"

Sameal teasing "How lovely" he got up stating "I won't play this game with you but you're right, I need to kill everyone who has fragment of my soul this way you won't be able to live longer"

Satasha smiled faintly "You saw through my plan"

Sameal indeed saw through her plan but not fully, she has another goal hidden and he was intrigued to see what her aim was, then again he couldn't let her have it easily. Using his power he lunched toward Ramiel to kill him, his attack was blocked by her.

Satasha "You can kill him later, I still need him alive for now"

Sameal shifting his strike to Satasha "You are in no place to bargain with me" his strike was blocked again

Ramiel calmly "If you guys want to fight take it outside, don't break my stuff"

Satasha "Sure thing" she ran to Sameal holding his arm, once she held it she transmitted both of them away, they fell on a dune.

Sameal immediately stood up attacking her with glass spears made off the sand, she immediately made a shield that dissipated it back to sand, he immediately made smaller spikes from the dissolved sand inside the shield to strike her. Using her ability to manipulate matter she dissolved them once it touched her skin, Sameal didn't stop he marched toward her with a glass sword, Satasha made a leaf headed spear. The weapons broke from the immense power of their strike, Satasha immediately formed two daggers from the broken spear and stabbed him, while he held the broken sword from it's edge and aimed for her core.

Satasha spat blood as she backed away, she took the sword out of her and made a whip from her blood before closing the wound, she flogged it at him once she transmitted above him. Sameal grabbed the end of the whip and pulled her closer, from the whip emerged spikes that pierced his arm and traveled to his whole body, but the pain didn't stop him from pulling her closer to strike her core, Satasha felt as if her organs had evaporated from the punch impact that she received, dizzy she felt but immediately grabbed his arm that punched her and ripped it out of him.

They both took few steps back panting, Satasha threw his arm away as she launched another attack at him, he stood there preparing for a counterattack.

Before both of them clashed Ramiel appeared walking slowly toward them, Satasha immediately backed off once she noticed him.

Sameal noticed he was carrying a wrapped object in his left hand.

Ramiel announced "I found it! Now it's your part to fulfill our deal"

Satasha smiled brightly as she took the object from him "I won't disappoint you"

Ramiel smiled softly, it was the first time Sameal saw him smile, he always thought that he's emotionally incapable.

He walked slowly toward them to see the hidden object but before he reached them Satasha stabbed his core, took his core along with his soul and crushed them in her hand.

Sameal froze, he didn't know what was going on or if that was there deal, he just knew that Ramiel was dead and Satasha standing next to his lifeless body indifferent.

"What's that" he asked

"Huh?"

"What did he give you?"

Satasha smirked as she shrugged, she waved goodbye at him then vanished.

"How rude!" he sighed

Sameal stared at Ramiel's body for a minute before setting it on fire, he then went to fetch his arm before going back to the garden to rest.
