However, the blanket covering him was piled up high, and only his lower body was visible at the edge of the bed.
Ferrand's mummy-like face was full of enjoyment.
"Cough cough!"
The man in black coughed awkwardly, cursing inwardly.
Those bastards downstairs just wanted to watch him get yelled at by the boss! They hadn't even bothered to warn him.
Upon hearing the sound, the woman under the blanket quickly crawled out, tidied her disheveled hair, and went out, showing no embarrassment whatsoever.
The man in black recognized her; wasn't she the nurse who had taken care of Ferrand at the hospital before?
"You'd better bring me good news!"
"My good time has been interrupted," Ferrand said with a gloomy face.
"Ahem, Boss, something's not right!" the man in black said cautiously. There was no good news to be had!
"Those two assassins haven't returned yet, but today the police found two pools of blood in an alley near the Blue Ocean Bar. I suspect..."
Hearing this, Ferrand's face darkened even more: "You suspect that the two assassins were killed by that punk?"
The man in black nodded slightly. What other explanation could there be?
If those two pools of blood weren't from the two assassins, they would have been back long ago!
"Useless! You can't even handle this small matter. What use are you guys?!"
"Find someone else. I'm going to kill that kid. I won't be able to quell my hatred until he's dead!"
Ferrand roared furiously, his face contorted with rage.
If both his arms hadn't been broken, he would have been ready to hit someone!
After venting his frustrations, Ferrand calmed down and asked breathlessly, "Have you found out anything about that kid?"
The man in black shook his head slightly and said, "All I know is that his name is Leon. Judging from his accent, he's not from Marseille. He was just promoted to captain by the Garnier Crew a few days ago. That's all I know!"
"Investigate! Find out everything about him, from the very beginning!"
"Send more men, they must kill him for me, money is no object!" Ferrand said with a gloomy face.
"Yes, Boss!" The man in black nodded hurriedly and left.
Just as he reached the door, he heard Ferrand's voice: "Bring her in again!"
2 AM!
Leon carefully put on his clothes and left his apartment.
Once on the street, there was hardly anyone to be seen!
After walking a long way, he found a very common Renault. Without hesitation, he smashed the window with his elbow.
He got in, pulled out the ignition wires, started the engine, pressed the clutch, shifted gears, and drove away!
The whole process took less than ten seconds, and Leon stole the car just like that.
At three in the morning, outside Ferrand's lair, Leon stopped the car and quietly looked at the villa in the darkness.
It was called a villa, but it was just a self-built two-story house, and the price wouldn't be very high.
The lights were off, the people inside were asleep, and it was time for him to get to work.
He took out the two Colt pistols, released the safeties, and chambered the rounds!
He leaped over the high courtyard wall. The door was locked. He walked to a window, gently pushed it, and found it was open.
Opening the window, Leon nimbly slipped inside and entered the living room. There was no one there, except for snoring coming from the rooms on the first floor.
He quietly opened the door to a bedroom and found a man fast asleep in bed.
He holstered his pistol, the dagger reappeared in his hand, and he silently stepped forward, covering the man's mouth before bringing the dagger down hard towards his heart.
Blood splattered, and the immense pain jolted the man awake. He struggled violently but couldn't utter a sound.
He could only feel helplessly as the strength within his body drained away.
"Don't be nervous, it will be over soon!"
Leon spoke in a low voice, pressing down on his body tightly to prevent him from making a sound.
Soon, the man's body stopped moving!
Next, Leon killed another person in the same way, but when he entered the third room, the scene in front of him made his face twitch.
Three grown men were lying on one bed, two of them even embracing each other.
Leon put away his dagger and prepared to use his pistol to finish the job.
He couldn't guarantee that killing one person wouldn't alert the other two.
"Bang bang bang!"
Three shots were fired in quick succession, each one hitting the head. The three sleeping men trembled slightly and died without even making a sound.
"Who goes there? Someone has broken in!"
The gunshots startled the others, and people rushed out from other rooms, only to be met with a hail of bullets as soon as they opened the doors.
"Bang bang bang bang!"
Gunshots rang out inside the villa, and the three men who rushed out of the rooms all fell to the ground with bullets in their chests and abdomens.
He glanced at the dead men; he didn't recognize any of them, and Ferrand wasn't among them.
"Ah!"
At that moment, amidst the dense gunfire inside the villa, a woman's scream erupted from a bedroom on the second floor.
Leon quickly ran upstairs to the second floor. When he arrived at the bedroom door, he fired without hesitation through the wooden door.
"Bang bang bang bang!"
A burst of gunfire silenced the screams inside.
"Bang!"
Leon kicked open the door and rushed in.
Two people were lying on the bedroom floor; the one in front was a beautiful woman.
But she had several bloody holes in her chest, and her eyes were wide open. She was dead!
Lying behind her was Ferrand, who, despite being shot twice, was still alive.
It seemed he had been using that nurse as a human shield!
