Having gained practical experience, Nordrassil already knew his own weakness. He swung Stormbreaker, unleashing a bolt of lightning that dispersed the black energy.
The black energy was Nightmare Power; it looked powerful but was actually just for show. If it hit a living creature, it might have strange effects, but it couldn't survive in the air itself. After being dispersed by the lightning, it immediately evaporated, as if it had never existed.
Everyone was puzzled, wondering how such an attack could have much impact on the Emerald Dream.
"Oh no, they're getting away!"
Eileen suddenly shouted, transforming into a raven and giving chase.
Everyone quickly followed, but by the time they reached the sky above the temple, the Naga had already escaped beyond the swamp and submerged into the seawater. They only managed to kill a few Naga before watching them dive into the deep sea and disappear.
Nordrassil landed in front of the temple and cautiously walked inside.
The temple's style was a bit strange, different from all the buildings on land, and it was clear at a glance that it had underwater architectural characteristics. Many designs were open-air, multi-channeled, and there was also a gaudy symbol on them.
Eileen, fearing her brother was in danger, immediately followed. Inute had the flying unit wait outside while he followed the two siblings into the temple.
The temple was empty inside, but Nightmare Power floated everywhere.
As if sensing someone had entered, the Nightmare Power immediately gathered and converged on the three.
Nordrassil snorted, slammed Stormbreaker onto the ground, and a violent burst of lightning erupted, evaporating all the Nightmare Power.
After clearing the Nightmare Power, the three then carefully examined the temple's interior decorations. On the walls, there were three murals.
The mural on the left depicted a group of Naga surrounding a high platform, with a Naga banshee on the platform praying to something.
"Elisande?"
Eileen called out the Naga banshee's name. "This must be what happened to them underwater."
"Perhaps you should come and see this!"
Eileen and Nordrassil turned and saw Inute standing in front of the mural on the right. The mural showed a giant skeleton, which looked like a massive dragon.
"Deathwing!"
The two siblings immediately exclaimed, rushing over to examine it closely.
"It really is him!"
"Could he be colluding with the Naga?"
"Perhaps not collusion!" Inute pointed at the Naga below the mural. "He's commanding them."
Eileen recalled and said, "Father once made several conjectures in a book about NZoth. The Naga and Deathwing should both be NZoth's creations, and they should all obey NZoth. Deathwing, due to his immense power, still has some autonomy, so his status would be higher, and other subordinates of NZoth might follow Deathwing's commands."
Nordrassil frowned, looking up at the innermost mural. If the murals on the left and right provided such astonishing information, what did the innermost mural depict?
He slowly approached, and the content of the mural gradually came into view.
"NZoth…"
"What?" Eileen and Inute quickly followed, and then they too were stunned by the content of the mural.
It was a gigantic, indescribable monster, like an ancient demon. Behind the monster was a city, a city from the Dark Empire era.
"Nyalotha?"
"It should be!"
The three stared at the mural in shock. Had Deathwing and the Naga already broken NZoth's seal?
Just as they were wondering, sounds of battle suddenly erupted outside. The three hastily left the temple and saw the flying unit engaging a group of Naga-shaped nightmare creatures.
With the three joining, the battle quickly ended. The nightmare creatures were not very powerful, and the flying unit suffered no casualties. However, some individuals were infected by the nightmare.
Nordrassil created rings of lightning and placed them on them. As soon as the Nightmare Power spread near the lightning ring, the ring would generate a small lightning bolt, clearing the Nightmare Power. However, each time they were struck by lightning, the infected individuals experienced immense pain.
Eileen took out a beacon crystal and summoned Gale.
The Rainbow Bridge arrived in an instant, and Gale appeared in the swamp. The scorching Sun God Power evaporated a large amount of water, transforming the surroundings into flat ground.
The flying unit landed, dismounted, and saluted Gale.
Gale waved his hand and flashed beside an infected person. He reached out and grabbed the infected person's hand, allowing the Nightmare Power on it to spread to his hand. As soon as the Nightmare Power transferred, it was burned and purified by the Sun God Power, posing no threat to him.
No matter how dark the power, it could not survive within the sun.
However, the condition of the infected was not very good. The tenacity of the Nightmare Power was too strong; unless the infected person also possessed power within their body that could eliminate Nightmare Power…
Gale thought for a moment, condensed a bit of Sun Power in his hand, and touched it to the infected person's forehead.
"Feel this power, and open your mind and body."
The infected person immediately closed his eyes, as if seeing a giant sun. He was somewhat afraid, but still obeyed Gale's words and allowed this power to enter his body.
After the Sun Power entered the infected person's body, it immediately spread. It quickly reached the infected area, forcefully expelling the Nightmare Power.
Seeing that it was successful, Gale breathed a slight sigh of relief. Fortunately, he had not used Sun God Power just now, or it might have instantly incinerated the infected person. Sun Power was a weakened version of Sun God Power, and still not something Nightmare Power could contend with.
Gale repeated the process, healing all the infected individuals.
However, other energies within these infected individuals were also assimilated by the Sun Power, so they could only use Sun Power from now on. The change in appearance from Sun Power was not very significant, but it still turned their skin a pale yellow, and their hair also showed some steam, as if burning with an invisible flame.
Fortunately, Gale's Sun Power was different from Shim-Eba's, making it suitable for Kaldorei to use. These Kaldorei would only use Sun Power, and their future achievements would not be small.
The Flame Elves had actively cultivated Sun Power and had now caught up to their previous strength. In another thousand or eight hundred years, they would certainly become the main force of Sky City.
However, calling them Flame Elves anymore would be inappropriate. The Flame Elves themselves felt this way, so they changed their name to Sun Sprites.
These infected individuals would also become members of the Sun Sprites, becoming the main force in propagating the Sun God Sect's doctrines. Gale had complex feelings about the Sun God Sect; he did not want to use religion to govern the country, but the benefits religion brought him were simply too numerous.
