Previously on Hakuna: A dark, catastrophic fate has befallen the Kgauhelo Clan. In a fit of wild, unbridled rage, their queen attacked the Letebele Palace, but was ultimately calmed down by the Royal Squadron. Later, the horrific truth came to light: the Lewotla Clan had initiated their brutal acts of war, slaughtering the princesses and leaving a kingdom in ashes.
But what was our main character doing during this dark hour...?
Fade in...
Act I: Echoes of War
The afternoon sun beat down on the newly constructed courtyard of the DDF Headquarters. The air smelled of fresh concrete, sawed timber, and underlying spiritual energy.
Hakuna walked along the high outer ramparts of the facility, his hands resting lightly on the stone ledge as his dark eyes swept across the vast, sprawling complex. The architecture was imposing—built to withstand heavy artillery and spiritual breaches alike.
He thought to himself, "They've managed to build this big place in such a short time..."
Without a sound, a subtle distortion rippled through the air beside him.
Seloane, an elite member of his personal Royal Squadron, materialized out of thin air. She immediately dropped to one knee, her head bowed in deep, absolute reverence.
"Your Highness..." she said, her voice crisp and trembling slightly with urgency.
Hakuna turned his head slowly, his expression neutral as he looked down at her. He mutters, "Seloane... what brings you here?"
Seloane raised her eyes slightly, keeping her posture low and respectful as she delivered the grim news from the front lines.
"The Lewotla Clan has waged war on the Kgauhelo Clan," Seloane reported, her tone heavy with gravity. "All their prospective leaders, along with their Chosen, have been killed. Our clan leader has stepped forward as the Kgauhelo Clan's ally. I was sent here to be your guard in case of an attack by an enemy clan... and as of this moment on, the Letebele Clan has officially entered the war..."
Hakuna froze. The steady rhythm of his breathing hitched for a fraction of a second as the weight of her words settled into his chest.
"All of them have been killed?" Hakuna asked, pure shock breaking through his usually calm exterior.
Seloane nodded grimly. "Yes, Your Highness... save for a few who were not present during the initial assault. For their safety, we were not told their exact location. They were instructed to remain where they are and keep their true identities secret from the world."
Hakuna took a quiet step backward, his eyes narrowing as he mentally calculated the political collapse of the region. He hesitated, almost tip-toeing towards his next question, fearful of the answer.
"And we've joined in...?"
Seloane continued without hesitation, her voice firm. "Yes. As we speak, the rest of your squadron are gathering the Letebele forces. We will soon have a formal strategic meeting. In the meantime, you are requested to remain fit for battle—as the Monster of the Letebele Clan, of course..."
Hakuna immediately raised a hand and palmed his face, letting out a long, weary sigh that vibrated through his fingers.
"I forgot about that title..." he groaned softly.
Seloane's eyes flickered with intense loyalty, her voice elevating slightly with unmistakable pride as she looked at him.
"It has brought you quite the distinction, My Lord! You will be the clan leader's avatar..."
Hakuna tilted his head, muttering in genuine confusion, "His avatar?"
Seloane confirmed instantly, her posture rigid, "Yes, Your Highness..."
Deep within his consciousness, the smooth, analytical voice of Psycha chimed in, breaking down the ancient traditions of high-born warfare.
"It is an unwritten rule that clan leaders themselves should not be physically involved in war battles," Psycha explained calmly. "Them joining in directly means surrendering the battle and possibly the entire war. In their place stands an avatar—a warrior of equal-ish caliber to them. This might mean he sees you as his true equal..."
"Interesting..." Hakuna said softly under his breath, processing the terrifying scope of responsibility resting on his shoulders.
He turned away from Seloane, walking casually toward a heavy glass window overlooking the central training grounds below. He looked at his reflection, then out toward the horizon.
"Alright," Hakuna commanded, his voice returning to its sharp, decisive edge. "Remain discreet. At my current location, I am in no need of protection—especially when a certain visitor is upon us..."
Seloane bowed her head low. "As you wish."
Act II: The Arrival of the Master
Outside the heavy iron gates of the DDF Headquarters, a lone figure stepped out of the mountain fog.
Master Mokoto walked with slow, deliberate strides, his plain robes rustling gently against the pavement. He carried no weapons, yet his presence felt like a mountain moving toward the facility.
As he crossed the threshold into the main atrium, an intense, suffocating aura surged through the entire DDF Headquarters. Stone tiles hummed underfoot. Glass light fixtures vibrated in their frames. Soldiers in nearby corridors paused mid-step, instantly breaking into a cold sweat as their instincts screamed at them to bow.
Commander Pitso, the veteran drill instructor, hurried into the foyer, his face tense as he braced against the crushing pressure. Recognizing the figure before him, he immediately extended a hand in formal greeting.
"It's an honour to meet you, sir! I am—"
Master Mokoto held up a hand, a calm, knowing smile touching his lips as he interjected smoothly.
"Drill Commander Senegal Pitso. The honour is mine..."
Commander Pitso stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes widening in complete awe as his mind raced. "He knows who I am?! The master of legends knows my name?!"
Quickly regaining his military posture, Commander Pitso gestured down the main hallway. "Uh, right this way, sir! All founding members have gathered and are eager to meet you..."
Master Mokoto nodded, walking alongside Pitso as they navigated the pristine halls.
In a side corridor overlooking the lower courtyard, Luvuyo leaned over the balcony rail, staring down at the visiting master. He could feel the sheer, dense weight of Mokoto's spiritual footprint from fifty yards away.
Luvuyo turned to a nearby officer, asking in a hushed, reverent whisper, "Who is that...?"
Commander Pitso, passing by, answered over his shoulder with crisp authority, "He's the man who trained the Founding Members..."
Luvuyo's jaw dropped slightly as his eyes locked back onto Master Mokoto's receding figure. He swallowed hard, his mind reeling from the revelation.
"He's the one who trained those beasts?!"
Act III: The Gathering of the BBC
Meanwhile, inside the central historical archive of the facility, Hakuna stood alone before a massive, hand-painted mural.
The artwork depicted the violent, apocalyptic carnage of the great battle of the 40 Days of Corruption—monsters and Milnerian Students colliding in a sea of blood and divine light. Hakuna stared into the painted flames, somehow completely distracted and mesmerized by the sheer scale of history rendered before him.
Oh, who am I kidding? He was totally zoning out.
Suddenly, a voice echoed softly from directly behind him—so close it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
"Quite the battle that was..." Master Mokoto spoke softly.
Hakuna flinched violently, stepping forward as his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. "Ah! Sir...!"
Regaining his composure, Hakuna turned and walked slowly toward the old master, the distance between them shrinking until they stood face-to-face.
Master Mokoto looked at him with warm, perceptive eyes. "It's been a while, Prince Hakuna..."
Hakuna hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck. Even after all his growth, after mastering divine techniques and claiming titles that struck terror into clans, to the man standing before him, he was still just that little prince who carried a terrifying, volatile power.
"Uhh... yeah..." Hakuna managed to murmur.
From the shadow of the archive pillars, a sharp, arrogant voice broke the quiet tension.
Super stepped into the light, his arms crossed over his chest, a smirk plastered on his face as he taunted, "Here we go again... the teacher's pet..."
Before Super could finish his chuckle, Bodega walked up behind him and raised a hand threateningly. "Do I have to flick your forehead again?"
Freddie popped his head out from behind a bookshelf, chiming in with his usual energetic tone. "Hey, we're meeting our teacher! Maybe they're just excited!"
One by one, the rest of the crew stepped into the open room—MXO, Rems, Enzo, and the others. The Founding Members had officially assembled.
Master Mokoto turned away from the mural, his eyes sweeping over the young men standing before him. A soft, genuine expression of pride washed over his weathered features.
"It's great seeing all of you boys here..." Master Mokoto said gently.
Enzo stepped forward, bowing his head slightly in respect. "It's good to see YOU, sir..."
Master Mokoto nodded, his voice carrying the deep resonance of a grandfather addressing his lineage. "You all have grown to be incredible men in just a year. I'm proud to have you as my pupils..."
Act IV: The Final Lesson
Master Mokoto turned slowly, walking toward the center of the room so he faced away from them, looking out at the grand expanse of the archive as he began his speech. The atmosphere in the room shifted instantly. The casual banter vanished; every single fighter stood rigidly silent, hanging on his every word.
"I had thought I had taught you all I could in the realm of Energy Manipulation," Master Mokoto began, his voice dropping into a deep, rhythmic cadence. "However... I have discovered the final step to Advanced Energy Manipulation."
He paused, letting the silence build before dropping the word like a stone into a still pond.
"Theosis..."
Hakuna's eyebrows knitted together as he murmured under his breath, "Theosis...?"
Master Mokoto continued, his aura expanding in a subtle, golden ring that brushed gently against everyone in the room.
"Yes... It's not a power. Not in the way you've come to understand it. Theosis is when your Talent stops being something you use... and starts being something you are..."
He held up a single finger, illuminating the dark room with a faint, pulsing light.
"Every Talent has a Name. It's not given—it's revealed. It tells you what you carry... and what carries you..."
He took a slow step forward, his voice echoing off the vaulted stone ceiling.
"There's an Affinity. A thread that ties your Talent to the forces that shape this world—Fire, Sound, Memory... even Silence..."
He turned slightly, his eyes catching the light.
"Then comes Expression. That's how your Talent chooses to be seen. It's not always loud. Sometimes, it's just a feeling. A subtle shift in the air..."
He pressed two fingers against his chest, his tone lowering into something almost spiritual.
"And Resonance... that's the part most forget. It's how your Talent hums with the world. How it fits into the rhythm of things..."
Master Mokoto faced them fully now, his arms open wide as he delivered the ultimate thesis of his martial philosophy.
"When all of these align—when you stop trying to control your Talent and begin to understand it—you reach Theosis. It's not about strength. It's about clarity... You won't feel like a god. You'll feel... still. And in that stillness, the world will listen..."
He lowered his hands, looking at each of their faces individually.
"This is my final lesson. Not because there's nothing left to teach... but because the rest is yours to discover..."
Act V: The Names of Talent
A heavy, profound silence hung over the archive. The boys digested the master's words, processing the sheer depth of what Theosis represented.
Super was the first to break the stillness, shifting his weight as he asked the burning question on everyone's mind.
"What about the final clash with Leragga?"
Hakuna stepped forward, looking down at his palms as he explained the nature of that miraculous event.
"That was just me using Lilitha's Talent, Celesti, to bring a glimpse of your true potential to defeat Leragga... It allows me dominion over the molecular structure of anything to a level that is divine."
Freddie stroked his chin thoughtfully, jumping into the conversation with eager curiosity. "With that said... although we instinctively used them perfectly back then, what are our Talents...?"
Master Mokoto smiled softly, stepping into the center of the group.
"My Talent, Sagac, offers me absolute clarity into areas unknown to me," Mokoto explained gracefully. "Through it, I may be able to tell you all your true Talent designations..."
He turned his gaze toward MXO first, his eyes glowing with a faint, mystical light.
"MXO... your Talent is Geo..."
MXO looked down at his heavy hands, feeling the faint, rhythmic pulse of the earth beneath the floorboards. "Geo, huh...?" he murmured thoughtfully.
Master Mokoto shifted his focus to the next warrior. "Rems... You have Adapt..."
Rems smirked slightly, adjusting his collar as he accepted the title. "The key attribute of humanity..." he said smoothly.
Mokoto turned to Enzo. "Enzo, you have Therma..."
Enzo's eyes flared with an instant spark of recognition. "Dominion over temperature..." he stated, nodding in quiet understanding.
Master Mokoto's eyes landed on the solid frame of Bodega. "Bodega... you have Atlas."
Bodega stroked his jaw, letting out a low, satisfied rumble. "Hmm..."
Freddie, practically bouncing on his heels, leaned in, eager to know his own path. "What about me, Master? What's mine?!"
Master Mokoto chucked softly at Freddie's enthusiasm. "Well, you have Speed—the true counterpart to Leragga's Volante..."
Freddie folded his arms, a proud grin spreading across his face as he mutters, "Oh, right..."
It was an undeniable truth—he obviously was the fastest member of the entire BBC crew.
Mokoto then turned to face Super, whose fierce eyes locked onto his master with quiet arrogance.
"Super... you have Ego..."
Super chuckled softly under his breath, shaking his head with zero surprise. "Of course I do..."
Finally, Master Mokoto stepped directly in front of Hakuna. The air between them grew heavy, charged with a strange, solemn power.
"And you, Hakuna... have the Talent: Power..."
Hakuna stared at his master, the word echoing in his mind like a war drum. He murmured softly, "Power..."
Inside his subconscious, Psycha let out a dramatic, exasperated sigh. "I could've sworn I told you this already..."
Master Mokoto raised his arms, offering his final blessing to the young legends sitting at the dawn of an unprecedented war.
"I implore you all to find your own ways to master these Talents," Master Mokoto concluded, his voice echoing with deep, timeless wisdom. "Return to that which you know best..."
Together, bowing as one unified brotherhood, all of them answered in unison:
"Yes, sir...!"
