As soon as the guy finished speaking, Grey moved.
He appeared directly in front of the nearest 11th rank evolver and drove his fist into the man's chest. The impact sent him flying backward, crashing into three of his companions.
The encirclement erupted into chaos.
The commander's eyes widened in shock but then he roared in anger. "Kill him! He is not a simple 9th ranker!"
Attacks came from every direction. Energy blasts, sword strikes, spear thrusts, all aimed at the elderly figure standing calmly in their midst.
Grey moved like water through the assault.
His body twisted around a sword swing, his palm deflecting a spear thrust. He grabbed one attacker by the face and slammed him into another, sending both tumbling across the ground.
The 11th rank evolvers couldn't track his movements.
Grey appeared behind a group of five and struck each one in rapid succession. Five bodies dropped before any of them realized what happened.
