The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm did not want to be a prisoner anymore. It started to use all of its power to get away. This power was made of mental force and ice energy that it had saved for nearly a million years. Its huge body moved back and forth very hard. It tried to break the chains that Ditian had put on it.
A loud humming sound filled the air as dragon patterns on the black chains started to glow. A very heavy and scary pressure came from the chains. This was the power of a dragon, and it was pushing down on the silkworm to keep it still.
The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm let out a loud cry in its mind because it hurt so much. The truth was very sad. No matter how hard it tried, the chains did not move at all. The chains were filled with the power of the Beast God. When the silkworm struggled, the chains only got tighter. They pressed into its shiny body until small cracks appeared. Cold, blue blood began to leak out slowly. Tang Chen stood there and watched this happen. He shook his head because he felt sorry for the big creature.
He took a step forward and looked at the large, silly silkworm. He reached out his hand and pet its smooth, cold head. He spoke in a soft voice to try and make it feel better. He told the silkworm to stop fighting because it was no use. He said that for now, the best thing to do was to stay quiet and stay alive.
Right after he said those words, something very strange happened. On the chest of Tang Chen, there was a black scale. This was the reverse scale that Ditian had given to him. Suddenly, it started to shine with a dark light. This light was the same kind of energy that was in the chains holding the silkworm.
Because the scale was glowing, the chains got confused. They thought they received a command to let go. For a tiny moment, less than a second, the chains became loose.
They tightened up again very quickly, even harder than before, but that small moment was all the Tianmeng Ice Silkworm needed. It had been waiting for any chance to escape. Its mind was ready and focused.
The silkworm looked at Tang Chen with its small golden eyes. It was shocked to see Ditian's scale on a human. It realized that this was the big chance it wanted. The nine golden rings on its body started to pulse and shine very fast. It took all of its million-year power and mental force and squeezed it all together. There was no big boom or explosion. Instead, there was just a low sound.
The seven-meter-long body of the silkworm turned into a bright golden light. It looked like a bug flying into a fire. The light flew across the room and slammed into the spot between Tang Chen's eyes. The silkworm chose to sacrifice itself. It put everything it had into this human boy who carried the mark of the Beast God.
Tang Chen felt like his head had been hit by a heavy hammer. A cold and massive wave of energy rushed into his mind. Everything went black for him. He could not even say a word before he fainted and fell over. Xiao Ruier saw this and got very scared. Her face turned pale and her eyes were full of panic. She screamed his name and ran to catch him before he hit the ground.
Inside his own mind, Tang Chen woke up. He found himself in a place that looked like a vast golden ocean. There were little spots of light everywhere. He heard a voice laughing loudly. It was a happy and relieved voice. It was the Tianmeng Ice Silkworm. It shouted that it was finally free. It mocked the other beasts who wanted to eat it, saying they would never get a taste now. Tang Chen looked around at this giant mental world.
Suddenly, the space started to shake. Bright beams of light came together to form nine huge golden rings hanging in the air. These rings made the whole area feel stronger and brighter. The rings started to spin, and white light filled the centers until they looked like nine small suns. The mental space grew much bigger and more stable than it was before.
The voice spoke again, calling Tang Chen by his name. Tang Chen looked down at his own hands. He was just a shape made of thoughts standing on the golden sea. He knew what was happening because he knew the story, but he acted like he was confused. He asked where he was and why this was happening.
The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm laughed and said that they were inside Tang Chen's own brain. It explained that this was the Sea of Consciousness. The silkworm said it would live here from now on. It told Tang Chen that the space used to be too small, so it helped make it bigger.
Then, the silkworm introduced itself. It told Tang Chen to call it Brother Tianmeng. It said that since it was a million-year Spirit Beast, it was definitely old enough to be a big brother.
Tang Chen acted curious and asked for the whole story. The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm loved to talk about itself. It told Tang Chen about being born in the cold North and finding a special ice marrow to eat.
That was how it got so much power without actually knowing how to fight. It talked about how it was caught by Xiong Jun and then used as a battery by Ditian in the Great Star Dou Forest. It was a very sad story.
Then it got excited again. It explained that the scale on Tang Chen's chest made the chains loosen up. It saw the chance and decided to turn itself into a wisdom spirit ring. It was very proud of itself.
It told Tang Chen that his body was very special and had great potential. It felt the power of destiny and dragon blood inside him. These things made it possible for them to fuse together perfectly. The silkworm cheered, calling itself a genius.
While this was happening in the mind of Tang Chen, the rest of the forest was in a panic. Near the Lake of Life, several powerful beasts felt a huge change. Ditian was sitting with his eyes closed, but he snapped them open.
His dragon eyes showed how surprised he was. Other powerful beasts like the Emerald Swan Beiji and the Crimson King looked toward the cave where the silkworm was kept.
They felt the steady energy of the silkworm suddenly flare up like a dying star and then vanish. In its place was a new kind of mental energy mixed with a human soul. The beasts looked at each other with angry and confused faces. It felt like someone had broken into their house and stolen their most valuable treasure.
They asked each other what happened and why the aura was gone. They realized the energy was coming from the direction of the human boy. Ditian gave a loud roar and told them to move. He turned into a black blur and flew toward the cave. The other beasts followed him quickly. They wanted to find out who stole their energy source.
However, there was one beast who was already there. The Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear, Xiong Jun, had arrived at the cave first. He had planned to eat some of the silkworm's energy that day to get stronger. When he looked inside, he saw the golden light disappearing into Tang Chen's forehead.
He realized the silkworm had sacrificed itself to a human. This made him incredibly angry. He had wanted that power for himself for a long time. Now, a weak human boy had taken it all. Xiong Jun lost his mind with rage. His eyes turned red, and he breathed heavily like a mad bull.
His sharp claws started to glow with a dark gold light that could tear through anything. He roared that the human deserved to die. He did not wait for Ditian to arrive. He swung his massive claws down toward the sleeping Tang Chen, aiming to crush him into pieces.
