The change in his aura was even more shocking than the physical transformation itself. Just as the terrifying storm, which had merged the Origins of the Ice and Snow Empresses, was about to completely swallow the fading golden light, something strange happened without any warning.
A low, powerful dragon roar suddenly echoed as if it were coming from the deepest part of the underworld. This sound did not come from the air around them, but from the black reverse scale pressed tightly against Tang Chen's chest.
The reverse scale began to glow with a burning heat, feeling as though it had been suddenly filled with an endless amount of energy. In the next moment, a stream of deep, abyss-like black energy poured out. Like a crashing river of dark stars, it followed the connection of the reverse scale and rushed into Tang Chen's limbs and bones. It flooded his body and soul, which had been seconds away from complete exhaustion.
Tang Chen let out a muffled groan. It was not a sound of pain, but the sound of someone feeling immense power filling them to the very limit. The golden energy that had been covering his body because of the Martial Soul Fusion Skill began to change rapidly. Black dragon scales with a dark gold shine appeared from under his skin like they were alive, spreading quickly until they covered his entire body.
The golden giant that was about to fall apart did not disappear. Instead, because of this sudden infusion of power, it became more stable and underwent a massive change. The shape of the giant, which used to be made of pure golden energy, became sharper and more ferocious. Behind it, a pair of huge black dragon wings that seemed big enough to cover the sky tore through the golden light and stretched out. Dark gold patterns flowed across the wings like living things.
The giant's arms changed into powerful dragon claws covered in the same black scales. The most striking part was its face. The golden vertical eye on its forehead, which belonged to Xiao Ruier's Eye of Destiny, slowly closed and vanished.
It left only a small golden mark between the eyebrows. It was replaced by a much deeper and more frightening dragon aura. A single strand of golden hair, bright as the sun, appeared from nowhere and rested against the chest of this new black dragon giant.
Even though the giant just stood there calmly, it felt like a prehistoric beast. Thick black light kept pulsing from its body. Even though the surrounding Ultimate Ice was incredibly strong, it began to melt away whenever it touched this black halo.
The ice could not get close to the giant at all. The storm created by the Ice and Snow Empresses, known as the Pride of the Ice and Snow Empresses, was a cold current so strong it could freeze the soul of a Titled Douluo. However, against this black light, the storm began to break apart and melt as if it had met its natural enemy.
As they watched this happen, the expressions of the Ice Empress and the Snow Empress changed completely. The Ice Empress looked on with horror and shouted that she could not believe what she was seeing. She asked how the aura of the Beast God could be there. The Snow Empress, whose blue eyes were usually calm and cold, also showed great shock. She stared at the figure with the dragon wings and asked if the Beast God Di Tian had actually attached his power to a human.
Tang Chen slowly raised his arms, which were now dragon claws. A low and majestic voice echoed through the world. His voice now carried the dominant tone of the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King. He asked if they could talk properly now. The Martial Soul Fusion Skill had not ended.
Instead, with the help of the Beast God's power, it had evolved into a new and more powerful form. It was a special fusion of Tang Chen, Xiao Ruier, and a part of the Beast God's power. Tang Chen decided to call this new form the Purple Gold Black Dragon Transformation.
This skill was much stronger than the Blue Silver Fate Dragons. As he spoke, Tang Chen raised his right hand and made a grasping motion toward the two empresses. Suddenly, the sound of muffled thunder filled the Extreme North Land. Black clouds gathered in the sky instantly. The space in front of the Ice Empress and Snow Empress shattered, and a huge black dragon claw appeared to grab them.
The huge claw, covered in shining black scales, gripped the snowstorm that connected the sky and the ground. There was no loud explosion or giant blast of energy. It was as if an invisible hand had simply choked the storm. The violent wind and snow let out a sharp cry and then popped like a bubble. The white and green light broke into pieces and turned back into basic ice elements that floated harmlessly in the air.
The terrifying storm vanished, leaving the ice fields in a mess. The Ice Empress and Snow Empress were left standing in the air, pale and breathing heavily. The Snow Empress calmed herself, her eyes becoming sharp like ice picks.
She locked her gaze onto the black figure and demanded to know why the Beast God, the ruler of the Star Dou Forest, would lower himself to help a human. She asked why he would choose to be their enemy.
However, the Beast God did not answer her. Instead, a voice full of excitement and energy came from Tang Chen's mind. It was the voice of the Tianmeng Ice Silkworm. He told the Ice Empress and Snow Empress to calm down and listen to him.
He explained that the Beast God was helping Tang Chen for the same reason he was there. He told them they were not there to fight or hunt them, but to help them become gods.
The words "become gods" hit the two empresses like a bolt of lightning. Even the calm Snow Empress felt her heart race. The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm continued by saying that they had all lived for hundreds of thousands or even millions of years.
He reminded them that they knew how cruel time was and how they had to face the Heavenly Tribulation over and over again. He warned that eventually, they would either die in a tribulation they couldn't stop or simply run out of life.
He said that he didn't want to die and that none of them should want to die after living such long and powerful lives. He told them he had found a way to avoid that end. These words really touched the hearts of the two empresses because finding a way to live forever was their deepest wish. The Ice Empress asked what the method was, and the Snow Empress watched closely, waiting for the answer.
The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm knew this was the most important part of his plan. He explained that the method was for them to become the Wisdom Spirit Ring of the human standing before them. The Ice Empress was confused because she had never heard of a Wisdom Spirit Ring. She asked if becoming a spirit ring meant they had to die, since spirit rings are usually just the energy left behind after a spirit beast is killed.
The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm spoke with pride, explaining that this was different from a normal spirit ring. A normal ring is made passively after death and has no real consciousness. But a Wisdom Spirit Ring is a path he was currently taking. It involves binding all of one's strength, memories, and soul to a human Spirit Master who has the potential to become a god while the beast is still alive.
He explained that while they would lose their physical bodies, their minds and wisdom would stay perfectly intact. They would live on as a part of the human's power and grow with him. He told them that when the human reaches level 100 and becomes a god in the future, they would go with him. By doing this, they would break the law that says spirit beasts cannot become gods, and they would finally achieve eternal life.
