Raven continued guiding Naruto through the hand signs while Mikoto watched with her arms folded, the faint breeze lifting a few strands of her dark hair. "Hasn't anyone even taught you these basic things, Naruto? You'll be entering the academy in just a few years."
Naruto scratched the side of his head. "The nice lady from the village orphanage tells me some stuff sometimes, but she's never taught me anything about ninja techniques."
"I don't think she would dare to, to be honest," Raven said, her voice carrying a faint, amused calm.
Mikoto shifted her weight thoughtfully. "I see you're aware of some of Naruto's circumstances, Raven."
Raven immediately waved her hands defensively. "No, no, no, I'm not aware of anything pertaining to Naruto's circumstances."
"Right," Mikoto said, arching an eyebrow.
She turned her attention to Naruto instead. "Naruto, repeat what you said earlier about how you feel interference inside your body when you try to use chakra."
"Every time I try to use my chakra and cast a technique," Naruto said, concentrating, "it's like… something inside me is getting in the way. I can't tell what it is—it just feels like an internal force messing up my chakra flow."
Raven glanced at Mikoto, curiosity in her eyes. "Mikoto, do you have any idea what could be interfering with his chakra control?"
"I have a very good idea what it may be," Mikoto said with a knowing look.
She motioned Naruto forward. "Naruto, come here."
He walked over. "Okay, Lady Mikoto."
"It seems that when you were younger…" She paused, her expression softening. "Well, that's not important right now. I'll tell you when you're older, buddy. For now, pull up your shirt."
Naruto obeyed without hesitation. Mikoto crouched in front of him, her eyes narrowing briefly with concern. "All right, bear with me here, okay?"
"Okay, Lady Mikoto."
All five of her fingers began glowing faintly with pale blue chakra as she brought her hand near his stomach. The spiral pattern beneath Naruto's skin shimmered into view—the Eight Trigrams Seal.
"Look at this sloppy seal work…" Mikoto muttered. "This was meant to contain what's lying inside of you, but it needs reinforcement."
Her glowing fingers traced the pattern deliberately, her chakra pulsing in steady waves.
"Five Elements Seal."
The blue light rippled across Naruto's abdomen, stabilizing the seal before fading away. Mikoto stood, dusting her hands lightly. "Try channeling your chakra again, Naruto. Tell me how it feels."
Naruto closed his eyes and formed the hand signs. "It's… it's a lot better now! I don't feel that weird interference anymore!"
"What did you do, Mikoto?" Raven asked, arms crossing.
"I reinforced the seal placed on him," Mikoto replied calmly. "It needed adjustment."
"And why would he have a seal placed on him?"
"Naruto is the savior of this village," Mikoto said gently. "He carries secrets within him that must remain hidden until the time is right."
"I'm really the savior of this village, Lady Mikoto?" Naruto asked, eyes wide with wonder.
"Don't be so formal," she said. "You weren't the other day when we went out to eat. Just call me Mikoto."
"Okay, Mikoto! I'm really the savior of this village?"
"Yes, you are, Naruto. And someday, everyone will recognize your achievements—and the legacy of your family."
Raven gestured toward him. "Naruto, try channeling chakra into the seals I showed you earlier. See if it feels smoother now."
"Got it!"
He formed Ram, Boar, and Snake. His palms glowed softly as chakra flowed more fluidly through his hands. "I can do it! I can actually channel chakra into the hand signs now!"
"Looks like you've solved his foundational problem, Mikoto," Raven said. "He should make progress much faster now."
"We'll see," Mikoto replied. "He didn't exactly inherit his parents' intelligence—but he does have some unique advantages."
Raven nodded. "I can see that already. His stamina seems bottomless."
Hinata tilted her head at Naruto. "Who are you?"
Naruto blinked looking at Hinata. "Oh! I never noticed you before who are you!"
Before Raven could interject, a familiar voice rang across the grounds.
"Oh, Raven! Hinata!" Ino called, waving. "It's nice to see you both!"
"Hi, Ino!" Hinata said brightly. "I haven't seen you in a while!"
Naruto looked between them. "Uh… is anyone going to introduce me?"
Sasuke stepped out from behind a tree with his arms crossed. "Naruto, you idiot. You don't recognize Hinata Hyūga, the heiress of the Hyūga clan?"
Naruto narrowed his eyes. "And where have you been lurking, Sasuke Uchiha?"
Raven lifted her hands. "Naruto be good—everyone relax. We're all training together here. So let's all get along, okay?"
"Hmph," Naruto muttered.
Sasuke scoffed. "Who wants to get along with him?"
Hinata gave Ino a curious glance. "So, Raven lured you over here too, huh?"
Ino nodded. "Yeah. She posed as an elder from my clan and snuck me out of the house."
Hinata gasped. "Raven did the same thing with me! She snuck me out of the Hyūga compound."
Mikoto stared directly at Raven. "So, you managed to impersonate members of both clans using a Transformation Jutsu? That doesn't sound suspicious at all… for a three-year-old."
Raven let out a nervous, awkward laugh. "Ha… ha… ha… I don't know what you're talking about, Mikoto."
