Chapter 33 - Baby Lucian

Forest Of Acrata.....

August 3rd, 2001;

The sun rays filtered into Linda's little house, casting warm golden glows on the house admist the tall trees of the forest.

The sun rises from the East with natural precision.

Today which is August 3rd, 2001, is quite a promising day.

In the forest of Acrata which lies beside the City, Santiago, nature's blessings seemed to come to life.

The birds were chirping happily, celebrating the rise of the early morning sun. Flowers were all in full bloom, waiting to also absorb nutrients from the morning sun.

Nevertheless, in the house of the last witch, Linda Parker, the morning seemed to extend it's bliss to the household.

As of now, Linda is in her bedroom.

She is sleeping soundly while clutching a baby wrapped in swaddling cloth. The occasional rise and fall of her chest shows that she was having a peaceful sleep. The baby within her arms was also, sleeping soundly.

The early morning sunlight filtered into Linda's room. Though, the sun's rays didn't fall on her face as the curtains were there to block the rays of the sun.

It wasn't long until Linda woke up from her slumber. Her eyelids weakly fluttered open and closed as she struggled to get used to the light of the morning sun's rays.

She sat up as she rubbed her eyes continuously while yawning.

Once she was steady and her eyes weren't filled with last night's sleep, she surveyed her surrounding with her eyes.

Her gaze landed on a baby beside her. She couldn't help but smile wildly, seeing the beautiful sleeping baby. The baby is currently sleeping soundly and she's definitely proud of that.

The pride of a mother, accompanied with a strange happiness blossomed in her heart.

As expected, the baby beside her is the mysterious baby she had picked up from the forest, yesterday's evening. The same baby she protected from a pack of wolves who turned out to be strange beings that were after her life and that of the baby.

Dwelling on the memories of yesterday's events, Linda couldn't help but smile. Her gaze landed on the baby's extremely cute face and she couldn't help but smile wildly, making her look like a psychopath.

She quickly bent down and placed a soft kiss on the sleeping baby's forehead. She smiled once again and got out of bed.

Once out of bed, she wore her slippers while stretching her body as usual.

After stretching, she walked up to the wall clock to check what the time was and she immediately saw that the time was 7:50am.

'Well, better go prepare breakfast for myself and Delia'.

Linda thought after she checked the time, through the wall clock.

As for Delia the black cat, she was sleeping on a small soft mattress by the corner of the room, just close to the wooden closet.

Linda smirked as her gaze landed on the sleeping cat.

Without wasting much time, Linda found her way to the kitchen. The kitchen was just as it had always been before. A fireplace, a wooden cabinet and other necessities.

Getting to the kitchen, Linda decided to wash the dishes of her last night's meal. She was too preoccupied with the mysterious baby she had found that she forgot to wash the dishes of her last night's meal.

Last night, she had eaten a meal of scrambled eggs and bacon and cheese.

While washing the dishes, Linda went deep in thought as she thought about yesterday's events. Most especially the strange man who had talked to her and seemingly delivered her a message.

Although, she was quite sure that both the unknown man and those beings that had attacked her in the form of wolves, had their eyes on the baby.

It could only give her the theory that the baby should be very important, especially since her conversation with the unknown man was all about the baby.

She could still remember him saying his name, calling himself the Prideful Demon King.

Though, all yesterday events was very confusing to her, she decided not to dwell on it much especially as she is safe now with the baby.

However, she had that feeling that those beings who had attacked her in the form of wolves, were not ordinary beings. They must have been very strong in their real form but weak in mortal form.

That explains how she was able to take down five of them.

Deciding not to dwell much on it, she sighed and continued washing the dishes.

The sound of repeated meows started her for a moment.

She cast her gaze at the direction of the meows and for sure it was Delia. She smiled pleasantly as Delia walked up to where she stood, wiping her hands with a piece of cloth.

"You're awake. That's great. For once, you actually woke up early".

Linda said as she dropped the piece of cloth, bent down and started caressing Delia's feline body.

Delia meowed in response as she savoured the pleasing feeling that comes with being caressed by her owner. Linda smiled even more, seeing the way Delia enjoyed her caresses.

"Awwwn.... You're the cutest thing ever, maybe except for the baby, cause, he's cuter than you"

Linda chuckled at her own statement.

Delia didn't seem to care about her owner's words. She only enjoyed the awesome patting she got.

After some moments of spending time with the black cat, Linda quickly went back to what she was doing.

She hurriedly started preparing breakfast for herself and her cat. She gathered all the ingredients and in no time, immersed herself with cooking.

Today's breakfast will be steamed buns and beef stew and some nice tea, to go with it.

Once Linda was done cooking, she immersed herself with cleaning the whole house. As a witch, she herself loved cleanliness.

Linda was busy dusting the black sofas in the living room with a piece of cloth when the cries of a baby reached her ears.

The baby was crying and that gave her a mental note that the baby was already awake.

Dropping the piece of cloth, she moved at a fast pace to the bedroom.

Upon getting there, she saw the baby on the bed crying non-stop.

"Waaah..waaah..waaah!!!"

She walked up to him and quickly scooped him into her arm, to calm him down.

"There, there, mother's here. No need to cry again".

Linda said while rocking the baby from right to left.

The baby heard the familiar voice and calmed down, he stopped crying afterwards. He opened his cute blue eyes and stared wide eyed at the lady currently carrying him.

Linda smiled at the baby, however, the baby didn't smile back. This gave her a mental note that the baby was hungry.

She slowly dropped the baby on the bed in order to get his food.

The baby, on seeing the lady dropping him back on the bed instead of giving him what he wants, he immediately broke into sobs and resumed crying.

"Shush.... Shush. Don't cry baby. I'm gonna go get your food".

Linda promised but that fell on deaf ears as the baby didn't stop crying.

Linda quickly ran to a cupboard in the bedroom and opened it.

She picked out a worn out old book which had dust on its hard covers. She blew away the dust and ended up coughing slightly.

Next, she used magic to summon a table out of thin air.

She dropped the book on the table and moved to get a feeding bottle from the kitchen.

Once she came back, the baby was screaming uncontrollably, displaying his need for food.

Linda hurriedly dropped the empty feeding bottle on the table. She picked up the old worn out book and started flipping through it's pages.

"Gotta find the spell for making baby milk. It should be here somewhere".

Linda said through desperation.

"Hey Piggy, you better hold on a little bit longer".

Nevertheless, the baby still continued crying. His hunger for food reaching it's climax.

"Found it!"

Linda gasped with happiness evident.

She read the spell, dropped the book on the table and focused her gaze on the empty feeding bottle.

"Okay let's try it".

Linda stretched her hands out, ready to cast the spell and wield magic.

"Milk that gives life....Milk that gives nourishment".

Linda chanted the spell with a straight voice.

Green spiritual energy burst out of her hand and wrapped around the feeding bottle, circling the empty feeding bottle. In a moment, the green spiritual energy faded and a bottle of fresh baby milk was left in its wake.

Linda grabbed the bottle and walked up to the crying baby. She scooped him into her arms and in no time, she was feeding him with the milk she had gotten through magic.

The baby sucked hungrily on the feeding bottle liked his life depended on it. Linda smiled softly.

"From now on little Piggy, my lesson today is to always have your food ready at anytime".

The baby grunted as if in support of what Linda said. This made Linda chuckled.

"I never really thought about giving you a name, little Piggy. I think it's time I should name you".

Linda murmured and started thinking for a good name that would fit the baby.

"Okay, I think I will name you... Lucian. Yes, Lucian Parker". Linda mumbled after a fit of thinking.

She sincerely likes the name and decided that it will be the baby's name.

"Okay then, from now on, your name will be Lucian Parker". Linda said with a smile, wanting to see the baby's reaction. The baby just stared at her and continued sucking on its bottle. "But I can still call you, baby Lucian. It will fit you very well.... baby Lucian. My own son!"
