Chapter 338: The Indifferent Golden Dragon King
Deep within the Star Dou Forest, ancient trees towered skyward, overflowing with vibrant life energy that flowed through every leaf and root.
Yet both Di Tian and Bi Ji were cloaked in unease.
Suspended in midair, their eyes kept straying toward the distant void where the Divine Realm lay hidden, their faces tight with worry.
"It's been so long… Why is there still no sign of the Lord or the Golden Dragon King?"
Di Tian's deep voice struggled to mask his rising anxiety. The darkness swirling around him occasionally lashed against the nearby rocks, leaving deep cracks where it struck.
As the Beast God of the Star Dou Forest, Di Tian had lived tens of thousands of years, surviving countless life-and-death crises—yet never had he felt so anxious.
This battle was not merely about freeing the Golden Dragon King. It would determine the fate of the entire spirit beast race.
If their Lord fell, their dreams of resurrection would vanish, leaving the spirit beasts to be slowly hunted and devoured by human Spirit Masters.
Bi Ji exhaled softly, the green glow of her life aura flickering unsteadily between her palms.
"Di Tian, calm yourself."
"The Lord's power has already surpassed the God King realm. She's stronger even than the Dragon God of ancient times. Those gods might not be able to stop her."
"However," she added worriedly, "the Golden Dragon King has been sealed for tens of thousands of years. His essence may be unstable. If the Lord is trying to bring him out through the Divine Realm's defenses, it won't be easy."
Though her words carried comfort, her gaze never left the distant void. The worry within her heart refused to fade.
She recalled the endless suffering of their kind under human oppression—the countless beasts who had perished in battle.
Failure now would mean the death of every remaining hope.
Boom!
Just as their unease reached its peak, the sky trembled violently. Space itself shattered like torn cloth.
Two overwhelming auras—distinct yet equally dominant—descended from the heavens, draping the continent in godlike pressure.
In an instant, those forces blanketed the entire forest.
Di Tian and Bi Ji's bodies trembled as they instinctively recognized one of them—the cold, majestic silver radiance that carried both the precision of elemental command and the authority of a God King.
It was unmistakably Gu Yue Na.
The other aura was foreign yet monstrously powerful. A flood of blood essence surged with each pulse, so intense it boiled the air around it.
Leaves ignited and drifted into ash before touching the ground.
"This vitality… could it be the Golden Dragon King?!"
Bi Ji's voice quivered with excitement.
As one of the two halves of the Dragon God, the Golden Dragon King stood equal to the Silver Dragon King herself—an apex being possessing an indomitable body and world-shattering might.
Before she could speak further, the heavens tore open again—one golden streak and one silver, falling like meteors toward the forest's heart.
Light burst on impact, yet when it faded, two distinct figures remained on solid ground.
On the left stood a woman in a flowing silver gown, her hem dotted with nine gleaming elemental lights—Gu Yue Na.
Though faint exhaustion shadowed her face, her sharp gaze cut like a blade.
Beside her stood a tall man with chiseled features, his golden-purple robe embroidered with coiling dragon scales. His vitality radiated tangibly, each breath causing ripples through the air—like an ancient beast reborn in human form.
"My Lord! Golden Dragon King!"
Di Tian and Bi Ji could no longer contain themselves. They rushed forward, bending their knees in deep salute, voices trembling with joy.
To see the Golden Dragon King truly freed—this was the moment they had prayed for.
With both Dragon Kings now alive, nothing could halt the spirit beasts' rise.
The Golden Dragon King gave a brief nod, his gaze sweeping across the forest. Feeling the flourishing life within it, the corner of his mouth lifted subtly.
"Tens of millennia have passed, yet the Star Dou Forest still thrives. Well done."
His voice struck like clashing metal—steeped in regal authority.
Through the long ages of imprisonment, he had often imagined the soul beasts extinct, their lands ravaged. Now, seeing the forest alive once more, the fury in his heart eased ever so slightly.
Yet hatred still smoldered deep within.
Were it not for Gu Yue Na's restraint, he would have already flown back to the Divine Realm to slaughter every last god in vengeance.
But even he knew her caution was warranted.
If their race fought the Divine Realm head-on, both sides would be annihilated—even in victory, the spirit beasts would pay a devastating price.
Gu Yue Na pressed a hand lightly to her brow. The divine energy she had spent breaking the seal had yet to recover.
"You've only just escaped," she said quietly. "Your strength is unstable. Stay here in the Star Dou Forest and rest for now."
"But before that," she continued, her silver eyes sharpening, "I need to tell you about the current state of the Douluo Continent."
"Oh?" The Golden Dragon King arched a brow, a hint of amusement glinting in his gaze. "What could possibly have changed on such a minor plane? When I was sealed, the strongest humans barely reached Titled Douluo. Surely they haven't grown into a real threat."
To him, Douluo was a backwater realm—a low-grade plane with scarce resources. The idea that humanity there could produce anything noteworthy seemed laughable.
"Do not underestimate it," Gu Yue Na said firmly.
Her tone hardened as she spoke the name:
"The Starry Sky Auction Pavilion."
"This organization has risen on the continent under a man named Jiang Li. His power is unfathomable, and he commands countless strong individuals. They've sold treasures capable of moving even God Kings."
"It was through the Pavilion's items that I broke through to the God King realm."
"The divine sword energy in my body was also purged thanks to one of their artifacts."
At this, the Golden Dragon King frowned, a trace of disdain crossing his face.
"So, just another mortal faction? However impressive, how powerful could they truly be? Douluo Continent lacks the foundations to rival the Divine Realm."
Having witnessed the peak of the Dragon God era, he had seen countless world-level powers. To him, any local human group seemed insignificant.
Seeing his dismissive reaction, Gu Yue Na's gaze turned cold and solemn.
"Golden Dragon King, you must not underestimate them."
"The Starry Sky Auction Pavilion's power is far beyond imagination. They have revealed treasures infused with the very essence of creation—artifacts capable of helping even divine beings ascend further."
"If we were to provoke them," she warned, "not even I, as a God King, could guarantee our survival."
Gu Yue Na knew all too well the terror of Jiang Li's strength.
Within the Pavilion, she had sensed not one but two presences powerful enough to erase her in an instant.
And she was not certain there weren't more hidden in the shadows.
For the future of the spirit beast race—and for the Golden Dragon King's life—she would not allow arrogance to blind them.
The Starry Sky Auction Pavilion must never be underestimated.
Unless absolutely necessary, they were not an enemy to make.
Otherwise, they might not even realize how they had died.
