Valentina watched as Arthur was placed in his crib.
She hadn't known how to deal with her own son rejecting her.
It stung. But when she thought about it in the bathroom where she went to cry, she realized she couldn't cry.
What was there to cry about? That a son clearly bonded with his father?
She was just glad to know that if anything ever happened to her, there was someone there to take care of them.
"Valentina, I know you don't want me to explain, but I fear I have to," he turned to her after double checking that both twins were breathing fine. "It concerns the babies, and you're their mother."
She folded her hands across her chest, and nudged him on with her head.
"Okay, we went to Aurivilla park, and it was great there. We decided then to head into town for this zoo we thought the babies would love–"
"So you left the city to go outside of it?" She cut in.
"Yes."
"If I had done that, wouldn't there be a whole speech about safety precautions and all of that bullshit?"
