Chapter 221 - 221: Each on Their Own Battlefield

Takuro stopped trying to find his balance. Instead, he focused every ounce of his will, his Ki, and his burning rage into the space between his palms. He didn't care about the shape of the energy anymore. He brutally crushed the golden aura and silver lightning together, forcing them into a dense ball of pure, chaotic power. He was no longer looking for a refined technique; he wanted nothing but total destruction.

"System! I need everything! Squeeze out every bit of energy and potential I have left! Do it right now!"

The air around him exploded with a deafening boom. The aura surrounding Takuro's body began to change. The bright, dazzling gold was swallowed by a terrifying, dark red layer that looked like it had crawled straight out of the deepest pits of Hell. His muscles grew even larger, and his veins popped out like thick, coiled dragons under his skin. Those silver bolts of lightning transformed into dark red serpents of thunder that danced wildly around him. His entire presence became a storm of violence and madness.

In that single instant, Takuro's power level achieved a massive breakthrough. He reached a level of energy that seemed impossible for a mortal to hold. However, the price for such strength was high. His body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside, and his mind wavered on the edge of total insanity.

"Take this move! Let's end this boring world of yours together! One hundred times... Kamehameha!"

A massive pillar of dark red energy erupted from his hands. It was so wide that its diameter could be compared to a small island. As the beam tore through the air, it didn't just shatter space; it crushed the very laws of reality that Imu had worked so hard to change. The extreme intensity of the blast reduced everything in its path to absolute chaos. It was a display of pure, raw force overcoming the rules of the universe.

Imu, who had remained calm and detached throughout the entire ordeal, finally showed signs of panic. The black runes that protected the ancient ruler began to melt away like snow under a desert sun.

"This is impossible!" Imu screamed, the voice finally cracking with disbelief.

Imu tried to call upon the power of Law once more to rewrite the battlefield, but Takuro's strike was too overwhelming. The sheer output of energy had temporarily broken the fundamental rules of the area. Without its primary defense, Imu's figure was completely swallowed by the dark red pillar of light.

The explosion that followed was beyond words. The light wasn't white or gold; it was a deep, all-consuming crimson. At the very center of the blast, a tiny black hole seemed to form. It hungrily sucked in all the nearby matter, energy, light, and even the sound of the explosion itself. When the dust finally began to settle, nearly a quarter of the central district of Mary Geoise had simply vanished. In its place was a terrifying, bottomless crater. The edges of the hole were glowing with hot lava, and cracks in reality flickered like broken glass around the rim.

The shockwave from this clash was so powerful that it rippled across the top of the Red Line. It traveled all the way down to the New World and the Grand Line, triggering massive tsunamis that crashed against shores all over the globe.

Meanwhile, deep inside the secret passage, the fight between Rob Lucci and the CP0 Officer was reaching its bloody end. Both men were covered in wounds. Lucci was in his leopard-human form, his fur matted with blood, but the predatory fire in his eyes was hotter than ever. The CP0 Officer's mask had been snapped in half, revealing a face that was cold, twisted, and full of hate.

"Why... why would you do this?" the CP0 Officer gasped, struggling to breathe. "Why would you betray us after everything?"

His Iron Mass defense was failing. Lucci's Finger Pistol strikes had been so fast and powerful that the officer's skin was starting to tear like paper.

"You call it betrayal?" Lucci's voice was as cold as a winter grave. "From the very beginning, the World Government treated us like garbage that could be thrown away. You aren't the ones who were betrayed. You are the true betrayers."

Lucci planted his feet and pulled back his fists. He funneled all his remaining strength and his deep-seated hatred into a single point.

"Rokushiki Profound Truth: Six King Gun!"

He slammed his fists forward, releasing a shockwave that was so condensed it looked like a physical wall of air.

"Maximum Wheel: Iron Mass!" the CP0 Officer roared, putting every last bit of his energy into his final defense.

There was a sickening thud as the shockwave hit. The officer's defense didn't just fail; it was completely shattered. The force of the Six King Gun passed through his body like he wasn't even there. The man's chest caved in instantly. He coughed up blood mixed with pieces of his own organs, his eyes wide with shock. He couldn't believe he had lost. Slowly, his body went limp, and he fell to the floor, dead before he even touched the ground.

Lucci stood there, gasping for air. He looked down at the body of his former comrade, but he didn't feel happy or proud. He just felt a cold, empty sensation in his chest. He shook the blood off his claws, took a moment to steady himself, and then ran toward the heavy stone door at the end of the hall.

Using what he knew about the government's secret mechanisms, he managed to trigger the lock. The door groaned open, but what lay behind it wasn't a fancy room or a gold-filled vault. It was a strange, vast space that looked like it was filled with tiny, floating stars. In the very center of this void floated a massive stone tablet—a Poneglyph. It gave off a heavy, ancient feeling that made the air feel thick.

Lucci realized immediately that this was what Takuro had been looking for. He didn't waste a second. He pulled out a video Den Den Mushi and began to record every single symbol carved into the stone. Once he was sure he had everything, he turned around and sprinted out of the Flower Chamber. His part of the plan was done.

Back in the Throne Hall, the Revolutionary Army was locked in a desperate battle. They weren't fighting people, but an automatic defense system that Imu had left behind. Bright energy beams flew through the air in every direction. Monkey D. Dragon moved through the chaos, using his Dragon Claw Fist to smash the turrets that popped out of the walls. But for every gun he destroyed, two more seemed to take its place. To make matters worse, a glowing containment field was slowly closing in around them, getting stronger by the second.

"Leader! We've recorded eighty percent of the data!" one of the Revolutionary executives yelled over the sound of the blasters. "But these guns are too much! We can't stay here much longer!"

Dragon looked at the rows of muzzles lighting up for another volley. He saw the energy in the room rising to a dangerous level. His eyes stayed calm but determined. He took a deep breath and pushed his Conqueror's Haki to its absolute limit. The pressure was so intense it felt like a physical storm. He mixed it with his Armament Haki to create a massive shield of black energy that protected his people from the incoming lasers.

"Take the recordings and get out of here!" Dragon commanded.

A thin line of blood ran down his chin. Keeping up a shield this large was draining his life force at an alarming rate.

"But Mr. Dragon! We can't leave you!"

"That is an order!" Dragon's voice boomed, leaving no room for argument. "The truth has to survive. This is the spark that will start the revolution. Go!"

His subordinate looked at Dragon's back, bit his lip until it bled, and finally nodded. "Yes, sir!"

The group gathered their equipment and fought their way back toward the entrance, leaving their leader behind. Just as they cleared the doorway, the defense system reached its final stage.

"Final purification... starting now..." a mechanical voice echoed through the hall.

The entire room was flooded with a blinding red light. All the energy cannons overloaded at the same time. A massive ball of destructive power began to grow in the center of the room, ready to vaporize everything inside.

Dragon stood alone, watching the core of the explosion form. He felt a sense of peace. He had done it. He had found the truth and made sure it would reach the world. He knew he probably wouldn't live to see the new world he dreamed of, but he was okay with that.

Suddenly, a golden streak smashed through the ceiling like a falling star. It was Takuro. He was still wrapped in that dark, angry red aura, and he looked exhausted, but his eyes were still full of pride. He had just survived Imu's final attack and sensed the massive energy buildup below.

He looked at the glowing core that was about to blow them all to pieces, then he looked at Dragon standing there ready to die. Takuro curled his lip into a smirk.

"You're a real pain in the neck, old man," Takuro muttered.
