Ava wasn't sure how long she had stayed awake.
The room remained quiet around her, it was dark and she was pretty sure it was way past midnight because of how quiet it was and probably because of how long she had been counting hoping to fall asleep, but sleep refused to come no matter how many times she shut her eyes and forced herself to breathe slowly.
It was impossible.
Not when she was in his room.
Not when every few seconds her mind replayed the feeling of Damian's mouth against hers.
The way his hands had held her.
The way his voice sounded when he spoke softly to her now. her eyes fluttered open and she let out a shaky bresth when it met with the ceiling for the nth time. she closed her eyes again and it was back, the way he had pulled her closer into his arms... the way...
Ava turned slightly beneath the blanket and looked toward the couch.
Damian hadn't moved in a while.
She couldn't even tell if he was asleep.
