Chapter 30 - Chapter Twenty-Nine: Anticipation and Expectation

A week inside the simulation room produced far greater results than our normal sparring sessions ever had.

The reason was simple.

The three of us—

Me, Krillin, and Nappa—

were too different in strength.

Nappa couldn't fight at full power without overwhelming us, while I constantly had to lower myself to match Krillin's level during training.

Unlike Goku and Raditz, who had finally reached a point where they could properly push each other, our training lacked balance.

The simulation room solved that problem.

It gave each of us opponents suited to our current level.

And once we grew used to the room itself, I began adding gravity multipliers on top of the simulations.

Training became much harsher after that.

The synthetic battle puppet also continued developing in its own way.

Unlike Raditz, I never installed a mechanical heart inside it.

And unlike me, it didn't wear a combat armor.

Only simple civilian clothing.

At a glance, it looked almost human.

Almost.

Tomorrow—

We would finally leave for Namek.

Final Preparations

Piccolo arrived just in time, roughly an hour before departure.

As expected, he said very little.

I handed a Dragon Radar to Yamcha before boarding.

"I'll contact you later," I told him seriously. "I want you and the others to gather Earth's Dragon Balls ahead of time."

Yamcha blinked.

"Ahead of time?"

"Yes. By the time I call, I need everything ready for Shenron."

Master Roshi adjusted his sunglasses.

"And exactly how are you planning to contact us from another planet?"

I answered honestly.

"I'll need King Kai's help."

The room fell silent for a moment.

Then—

"Yep! I'm listening right now!"

King Kai's voice suddenly echoed inside everyone's minds.

Yamcha nearly jumped.

Krillin burst out laughing.

Even Piccolo opened one eye slightly.

"…Still not used to that," Krillin muttered.

Departure

Once everything was prepared, we boarded the ship.

Everyone chose their rooms for the journey.

The inside of the ship was massive compared to the old Namek vessel from my previous timeline.

Training rooms.

Living quarters.

Healing chambers.

Simulation facilities.

Mechanical maintenance areas.

It was less a spaceship and more a mobile fortress.

I stood inside the control room and crossed my arms.

"Oracle," I said calmly, "begin launch sequence."

Launch sequence initiated.

The ship trembled softly.

Then slowly—

We left Earth behind.

Expectations

As the stars stretched around us, my thoughts drifted toward Namek.

If everything went according to plan, we would arrive before Frieza and his army.

That was the goal.

Save the Namekians.

Prepare evacuation routes.

Create synthetic decoys.

Hide the real Dragon Balls.

As long as Frieza believed the Dragon Balls still remained on Namek, he would hesitate to destroy the planet outright.

At least…

That was what I hoped.

Training During The Journey

Training resumed almost immediately after departure.

Goku and Raditz adapted to gravity faster than anyone else.

At this point:

Goku and Raditz could endure up to three hundred times Earth's gravity.

Nappa managed around two hundred times.

I could handle roughly one hundred and fifty.

Krillin remained around one hundred.

Even then, Krillin's progress impressed me greatly.

Piccolo, however, barely joined the simulation room at all.

Instead, he spent most of his time meditating quietly in the common room.

The room itself had been specially designed for relaxation and communication between crew members.

Still…

Piccolo rarely spoke.

Explaining The Plan

Eventually, I gathered everyone together.

I needed them to understand exactly what awaited us.

"Our objective is not direct conquest," I explained while displaying a holographic map of Namek.

"We arrive first. We secure the Dragon Balls. We protect the Namekians. We avoid giving Frieza a reason to destroy the planet immediately."

Nappa folded his arms.

"And if that fails?"

"Then we adapt."

Simple answer.

Because it was the truth.

I turned toward Goku and Raditz next.

"When Frieza arrives, I want the two of you handling him directly."

Raditz frowned slightly.

"You really think he's that dangerous?"

Before I could answer—

King Kai's voice echoed again.

"Dangerous doesn't even begin to describe Frieza!"

The room became quiet.

I lowered my gaze slightly.

"…I know more about Frieza than I want to."

That answer alone was enough.

Reality

"We've prepared as much as possible," I continued calmly. "But preparation alone won't guarantee victory."

The room stayed silent as everyone listened carefully.

"We're close to our goal," I said. "Closer than we've ever been."

But not close enough to guarantee success.

Not against Frieza.

A Warning To Nappa

I looked toward Nappa next.

"One more thing."

He raised an eyebrow.

"No matter how many times you defeat simulation Vegeta… don't mistake it for defeating the real one."

Nappa stayed silent.

"The real Vegeta will be stronger," I continued. "And unlike the simulation, he has emotions. Pride. Ego."

I narrowed my eyes slightly.

"Those emotions make him dangerous."

Then after a brief pause, I added:

"…But they're also weaknesses you can exploit."

Nappa smirked faintly.

"…Understood, Miss Bulma."

Dividing Roles

The final assignments were already decided.

Me.

Krillin.

Piccolo.

We would meet the Grand Elder Guru and warn the Namekians.

Meanwhile:

Goku

Raditz

Nappa

and the synthetic puppet

would prepare for Frieza's arrival.

From my understanding of Frieza's personality, he wouldn't immediately destroy us.

Not yet.

Not while he still believed the Dragon Balls remained on Namek.

That greed—

That obsession—

Was the only thing restraining him.

Quiet Fear

Still…

No matter how much planning I did…

No matter how many contingencies I prepared…

I couldn't completely erase the fear in the back of my mind.

Because reality had a way of destroying even the best plans.

I stared silently at the stars outside the ship's window.

If everything goes wrong…

My hand slowly tightened into a fist.

Then I'll deal with it when it happens.

For now—

All I could do was prepare.

And hope it would be enough.
