Yukinoshita Haruno slowly got out of bed.
The faint morning light filtered through the curtains, illuminating the familiar ceiling of Yukinoshita Yukino's apartment.
For a moment, she simply stood there, her mind blank, before reaching for the neatly prepared clothes someone had placed on the chair.
She changed calmly, fastening each button with practiced ease.
After finishing, Yukinoshita Haruno stepped out of the bedroom.
The moment she opened the door, a warm and unmistakable fragrance drifted toward her from the kitchen.
It was the smell of freshly cooked food.
Haruno paused mid-step.
She stood there for several seconds before unconsciously following the scent, stopping at the entrance of the kitchen.
Akira Fujimiya was standing by the stove, wearing an apron that clearly didn't belong to him. He was calmly plating breakfast, his movements steady and unhurried.
"You woke up just in time," Akira said without turning his head. "Breakfast is ready."
Haruno looked at him, momentarily stunned.
"....I thought you were already gone," she said softly.
Akira placed the last dish on the table and glanced at her.
"I have an appointment with Hayama Riko for lunch," he said casually. "In the afternoon, I'll pick you up on my motorcycle and take you to the beach."
Haruno blinked.
She didn't immediately respond.
Instead, her gaze lingered on the neatly arranged breakfast and then returned to Akira's face.
"…Will we stay overnight at a hotel?" she asked, her tone light but her eyes betraying a trace of expectation.
Akira nodded, setting down two sets of utensils.
After breakfast, the two left the apartment together.
...
Akira arrived at Flash Animation carrying the Manga script he had written.
He still hadn't finalized the ending.
Although he had filled in the original version's conclusion for now, the ending itself remained unresolved in his mind.
He went directly to Kanae Takahashi's office.
Kanae Takahashi was visibly delighted to see him, and even more so when she learned he had brought a new project.
Akira placed the script on the table and began explaining the story from the beginning.
When Kanae heard that the city wall was kicked open by a giant in the opening scene, she froze slightly.
"…A giant?" she repeated.
The beginning already felt different from anything she had expected.
As Akira continued speaking, Kanae began taking careful notes.
The first appearance of the Colossal Titan brought overwhelming pressure. The sheer scale of its body, the heat of its steam, the helplessness of humanity in comparison—it all left a deep impression.
The second appearance was even more shocking.
The Colossal Titan appeared again without warning, shattering the wall once more. By this time, the three protagonists had grown stronger, and their comrades had matured alongside them.
Even so, the battle was brutal.
The protagonist's sudden transformation into a giant stunned everyone.
Humanity gained hope—and then fear.
Soon after, the protagonist became the target of human weaponry.
Only when humanity's higher authorities intervened did the situation stabilize.
After a tense conversation, the protagonist proposed the idea of using his giant form to block the city gate.
The plan was bold!
During its execution, however, an accident occurred.
Suspicion once again fell upon the protagonist.
Akira narrated steadily, following the progression of the animation, until the Female Titan was captured and the horrifying secret hidden within the city walls was revealed.
Kanae Takahashi was completely absorbed.
There was a lingering sense of anticipation she couldn't shake.
And then Akira stopped.....
"That's it for now," he said. "You should read the rest yourself."
Kanae lips twitch as she took the script and began reading.
Two hours passed.
When she finally reached the ending, her hands trembled slightly.
She raised her head and looked at Akira, then down at the script again.
"...…Why does it end like this?"
Her voice was quiet.
"The solution," she continued slowly, "what is the solution?"
She thought about it for several minutes.
And then it hit her.
There was no solution.
"This ending was my first instinct," Akira said calmly. "But after thinking about it, I realized it has problems. You can modify it, or find the real answer hidden in it."
He looked directly at her.
"If you can convince me, the ending will be yours."
Kanae Takahashi fell silent.
"…There must be a deeper meaning," she said eventually.
She thought of Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Cruel, despairing—yet ultimately healing.
{T/N: Akira version one}
"Think about it carefully," Akira said. "There's no rush. This project is fully your responsibility."
Kanae nodded.
"I won't let you down."
She had a strong premonition.
This work would surpass Madoka Magica and everything Flash Animation had created before.
But the ending—
If handled poorly, everything built so far would collapse.
...
After leaving Flash Animation, Akira drove toward Hoshiyuu Agency.
While driving, his thoughts returned to the ending of the story—Attack on Titan.
When the original ending was released, it had been met with overwhelming criticism.!
Later, countless theories emerged, some even elevating the ending to a philosophical level.
Akira could choose one interpretation and make it canon.
But even that felt insufficient!
"If it really doesn't work," Akira muttered, "I'll just find someone to take the blame."
The image of Hikigaya Hachiman suddenly surfaced in his mind.
Just as he was thinking this, his phone rang.
It was Kanae Takahashi.
She wanted to discuss the project with two veteran supervisors.
Akira agreed immediately.
When the car stopped in front of Hoshiyuu Agency, Akira set the ending aside for now.
He stepped into the building and went straight to Hayama Riko's office.
Opening the door, he saw four girls inside.
"Akira-sama," Hayama Riko stood up. "These are the virtual idols I mentioned before."
"I thought they were just virtual characters," Akira said with a smile. "I didn't expect all of you to be such cute girls."
Riko explained their collaboration plans—advertising, appearances on voice actor programs, and crossovers with idols.
"Virtual idols, voice actors, and real idols can all support each other," she said.
"It's a good idea," Akira nodded. "Order the necessary equipment first. In the future, I want them to stand on a real stage."
One particularly thin girl raised her hand hesitantly.
"…I'm not very strong physically. Do I have to participate?"
"These activities are optional, If you are interested, you can participate. If you are not interested, you don't have to participate." Akira replied gently. "But when we create an animation about virtual idols, you must participate. That Anime will tell your story."
"An Anime?" the girls exclaimed in unison.
"With enough popularity, you'll naturally get animations, endorsements, and merchandise," Akira said seriously. "As long as you follow the rules and work hard, your income will continue to grow."
They exchanged stunned looks.
They actually haven't thought about it that much, they just feel that live streaming is very happy now.
"As for the specific plan, someone will naturally arrange it when the time comes, so you don't have to worry. Now, you just need to do a good job of live streaming, take a break occasionally, and strengthen friendly interactions with fans. That's enough."
Riko's spoke to the four girls for a few more words before letting her assistant send them away.
"The companies my sister mentioned are expanding aggressively," Riko said, handing Akira a file.
Akira skimmed through it.
Many competitors had already launched virtual idols.
They've already had someone set up their avatar for them.
There are ordinary types, those with strange settings, and even demi-human type of virtual idols.
{T/N: Elves, dragon girls, shark girl (not gura), dog girls, etc etc,}
They all have one characteristic in common, which is that their figures are somewhat exaggerated and their clothes are somewhat excessive.
Their designs were meant to be flashy, exaggerated, and borderline provocative!
"These designs might pass here," Akira said, returning the file, "but they won't pass in some countries."
"I understand," Riko smiled.
"You don't need to explain," Akira said. "Your sister knows what to do."
"I'll make sure our virtual idols stand out," Riko replied softly.
...
At lunchtime, Akira took Hayama Riko to Sazenka.
She had heard of it before but never had time to visit.
With Akira leading the way, she ordered her favorite dishes.
Akira chose lighter ones.
Kazami Nana personally brought out the food for them.
"Thank you," Akira said.
"No trouble at all," Nana replied.
Akira tasted each dish, offering subtle feedback.
Nana immediately understood.
This was a second God Tongue.
And it seem to be far superior to Nakiri Erina's!
Only God Tongue could perceive everything woth such precision.
As Nana left, Riko looked at Akira in amazement.
"These dishes are already delicious," she said. "Yet you can still point out flaws."
"The taste is indeed good, but the chefs are more strict with themselves. If someone points out a shortcoming, they will definitely correct it. This will make their dishes more delicious. Miss Nana is such a chef. She is also very good at listening to other people's opinions." Akira explained.
"I see." Hayama Riko understood.
"Let's eat. After that, we'll go shopping." Akira said to her.
She was a little surprised when she heard this but also happy at his care.
But, she was not expecting any expensive gifts—She would liked anything Akira gave her.
...
Inside the mall,
Akira helped Hayama Riko choose clothes.
She tried on outfit after outfit, her smile growing brighter with each one as she asked him how she looked.
