All men in the world share some common traits, at least men of the previous generation, they're all so competitive.
Like Old Su, Shen's dad is also competitive in some ways, the kind who would rather puff up his face to look imposing.
Clearly elated at the prospect of his daughter bringing someone home, but ends up feeling a sense of loss.
Feeling as if the cabbage he nurtured for years has been uprooted by someone else, he's quite angry, wanting to give Su Qing, the soon-to-be 'son-in-law,' a hard time, yet he realizes there's no reason for it. However, if he doesn't make some gesture, he won't feel satisfied.
After much thought, Shen's dad decided to focus on his appearance to exert some paternal pressure.
If height is lacking, shoe lifts compensate; lacking flesh, the clothes make up for it!
A few days ago, this old father received Su Qing's basic information from his daughter, like height, weight, personality, and education.
