Vivian Sullivan left in a hurry, not even noticing Summer Lowell's longing eyes hoping she would take her along.
As the door closed, Justin Huxley looked at Summer, who was already standing up with her bag, eager to leave together, and chuckled: "If you run out now, you might still catch up. But seeing how urgent Vivian seemed, maybe it's best not to add to her trouble."
Summer, thinking the same, sat down again with a look of helplessness.
Then, realizing that her desire to leave was a bit too obvious, she clumsily explained to Justin: "I was thinking of going with Vivian to see if I could help somehow, like driving her for example."
Justin knew she was just making polite excuses and didn't call her out: "She's a doctor, you're a designer. You wouldn't be much help even if you wanted to."
Summer let out a couple of awkward laughs and quickly changed the subject: "I think we're pretty much done with the meal. How about we call it a day and meet up again when there's time?"
