Qin Xin followed the maid's guidance and passed through the garden, arriving at a semi-transparent glass study room.
From the outside, she could see the suspended bookshelves inside, filled with thick tomes, and a middle-aged man facing away from her, picking books from the shelves.
"Second Elder, Miss Lan has arrived," the maid knocked gently on the door, announcing softly.
The man turned around, nodded at Qin Xin through the full-length glass, and personally opened the glass door: "Miss Lan, inviting you here in this manner was quite rude of us, my apologies."
Qin Xin narrowed her eyes: "No need to apologize. You're not afraid of offending me anyway, are you?"
The man choked, suddenly unable to respond.
Qin Xin smiled, unceremoniously stepping into the study, scanning the bookshelves, walking to a shelf that piqued her interest, and casually pulling out two books to peruse.
Qin Xin scrutinized the collection on the bookshelves.
Jing Chen watched her from behind.
