[Pokémon: Meloetta (Mythical Pokémon)]
[Type: Normal / Psychic]
[Level: 30]
[Ability: Serene Grace]
[Move: Relic Song, others omitted]
With the system confirming it, the Pokémon in front of him was exactly what he had thought it was all along: Meloetta.
"Melo." (Someone's here.)
Meloetta turned her head, saw four unfamiliar people walking in, and instinctively wanted to turn invisible.
"Mio." (No need to worry. I know three of them, and they're all good people. As for the girl with the buns... she kind of looks like Green, so she's probably an honest, simple girl too. No need to worry.)
Little Riolu looked over at the four of them and soothed Meloetta's nerves.
It had been a long time since the two of them had seen each other. This trip was supposed to be a chance to catch up.
"Ooh! That Pokémon is adorable!"
Rosa's eyes lit up all over again.
Meloetta was exactly the kind of Pokémon that matched her taste.
She was just too cute.
"Meloetta, Unova's Mythical Pokémon. She really is cute."
Grey nodded in agreement.
Meloetta was not only adorable, she could even take on a Fighting-type form. If possible, he would have loved to bring her back to the Fighting Dojo and raise her there as the mascot.
If she was going to be looked after either way, then where she was looked after did not really matter.
In Unova, she still had to worry about whether Team Plasma would come looking for trouble. If she went with him to Kanto instead, she would be surrounded by his own network, and there would be no need to worry about safety.
There was a very good chance that the Team Plasma members searching all over outside had come to look for Meloetta.
Luckily, he had stepped in fast enough. If Team Plasma had managed to take Meloetta hostage, instantly taking them all down would have been much harder.
"So that's Meloetta? I've heard the elders in my family mention her before. Meloetta likes to sing and is a Pokémon that truly loves music."
Because Meloetta's Aria Forme was part Psychic-type, Caitlin's family had shown her regional Pokédex records for Mythical Pokémon from all over the world when she was younger, so she remembered Meloetta quite clearly.
That said, she had no intention of catching her.
Caitlin simply admired Meloetta.
Sabrina was the same. She was only appreciating the sight of a cute Pokémon.
"Meloetta is soooo cute~"
Rosa, meanwhile, had completely fallen for Meloetta's adorable appearance. She even spread her arms and moved in for a hug.
"Hehe, little Meloetta, hehe~ how about you let big sis hug you?"
"M-Melo?"
Meloetta had just been about to fly away when Rosa scooped her into her arms. Her face was squished out of shape by Rosa's ample chest, and she nearly lost the ability to breathe.
Grey: "..."
This girl really was startlingly sincere.
She did not treat him like an outsider at all, which honestly made her look easy to scam.
That was one of the few thoughts Grey had.
Rosa's behavior was just way too open.
That really was Unova for you. Freedom above all else.
Only after being hugged for more than ten full minutes did Meloetta finally "return to life."
Little Riolu helped her back up, and she had to catch her breath for a few moments before she returned to normal.
"Would you all like some coffee?"
The man at the counter, who had been silent this whole time, finally spoke after watching the entire farce play out, asking whether they wanted anything to drink.
This was a café, after all, so the only thing they sold was coffee.
"Four cappuccinos! Add sugar, and extra milk too! Put it on my tab!"
Rosa was surprisingly generous and spent a small fortune treating everyone to coffee.
This was Castelia City, an international metropolis.
The coffee prices here...
Honestly, even Grey would have winced before ordering a cup.
It gave him the same feeling as getting ripped off by big-city prices at some influencer tourist hotspot in Shanghai back in his previous life.
Rosa definitely had money.
Spending that much did not seem to bother her at all.
Wait...
Come to think of it, that light novel Rosa had taken out earlier had looked like a limited edition signed copy, hadn't it?
A personally signed copy from Elite Four Shauntal—its price had to be dozens of times higher.
And it was the kind of book that money alone still might not be enough to buy.
That alone made it obvious that Rosa was a hidden little rich girl herself.
"That's a bit too much."
After looking at the menu, Sabrina suddenly spoke up and reached for money, not wanting Rosa to spend so much on them.
"Hehe, it's okay. Miss Sabrina, I may have only just started traveling, but I actually have a pretty decent family background."
Rosa scratched her head shyly, then lowered her voice.
"You probably won't believe this, but I'm actually a pretty popular young film star too."
"Oh? Ohhh, now I remember."
Grey suddenly thought of something, then pointed at Little Riolu.
"If I remember right, your breakout film was in the Brycen-Man series—The Riolu Girl vs. Brycen-Man, right?"
Rosa: "!!!"
"Y-you've seen my movie!"
Rosa's voice shot up on the spot, but she quickly forced it back down.
"I'm just so excited! I never thought Grey would know who I was. I figured only people in Unova recognized me..."
"Melo?" (A movie?)
Meloetta was listening with fascination, but she did not really understand a specialized term like "movie."
"Mio." (It's like acting. Remember those stage performances we used to watch all the time? Movies are kind of like that.)
Little Riolu explained it to Meloetta, and she immediately understood.
Meanwhile, Rosa had placed both hands on her thighs, rubbing them nervously against the black tights over her legs, looking bashful and awkward.
"Well... actually, the reason I came to Castelia this time was because I wanted to find someone to make a movie with..."
Blushing, Rosa looked at Sabrina, her brows lifting.
"Miss Sabrina, would you have any interest in acting in a movie? I know this is sudden, but I really do have a script with a role that would be perfect for you!"
"What movie?"
Sabrina clearly had not expected the conversation to suddenly turn toward her.
"It's the upcoming Mystery Doors of the Magical Land. There's a role in it for the Magic Queen, and we still haven't found the right actress. But if it's you, Miss Sabrina, then I honestly think no one could fit the role better!"
Rosa grabbed Sabrina's hands and declared it with total conviction.
"Th..."
Even Sabrina was shaken by that proposal.
To be honest, she was a little tempted.
Grey was short on money, while Rosa obviously had plenty.
And Rosa had money because she acted in movies.
If she acted in movies too, would she be able to earn that much money as well?
Sabrina felt that if acting really could make that much money, then maybe it was worth trying, just to see what kind of pay it offered.
But...
Would Grey be willing to let her go act in movies?
That thought crossed Sabrina's mind, and she turned to look at Grey.
"Do what you want to do. Don't force yourself just because of me."
Grey reached out and gently stroked Sabrina's silky black hair, his gaze softening.
"...Okay."
Sabrina nodded lightly, then turned to Rosa and asked, "So when do we leave?"
"Tomorrow! We'll go tomorrow!"
Rosa looked so happy she was practically about to jump up and cheer.
"Miss Rosa, make sure you take good care of Sabrina for me."
Smiling, Grey offered his sincere blessing.
"When the movie comes out, I'll be the first one there to support it."
