"Your chance has come."
Candy's eyes lit up immediately, in disbelief she asked, "Really?"
Zero shrugged casually and said, "Most likely, but who knows if the boss will change his mind. Other things might crop up this afternoon."
Hearing this, Candy frowned, then closed her eyes to make a wish under Zero's baffled gaze.
After a short while, Candy opened her eyes with delight.
"Hee hee, that's good enough."
Even though Candy didn't say it aloud, Zero could guess what wish she had made.
As she spoke, Candy yawned, and gently patted her little cherry-like mouth with her hand.
"Can't help it, I want to sleep too."
Under Zero's gaze, Candy tiptoed to the bedroom door, opened it quietly, and slipped inside on her tiptoes.
Left alone, Zero pouted and gave the eating Little Grey a knock on the head.
Little Grey jumped back more than a meter, eyes filled with confusion and alertness.
"Stupid dog, eat your kibble."
"Look at Bun, so calm and unaffected by anything while eating."
