It wasn't until Melody's call reached Jared Quinn's phone that everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Leon Rivers, is his wound okay?" Melody had already arranged for the man to be taken back to the hospital.
"He's fine, the wound isn't fatal," Leon Rivers put away the medical kit. "He's okay, but sis, next time you might not be so lucky. Please remember to knock someone out first in such situations. You went ahead and helped him treat his wound instead."
As he finished speaking, Melody could already feel the man beside her narrowing his eyes dangerously at her.
"Yes, I should have knocked him out," Melody's thoughts immediately did a 180-degree turn. "But lately, I don't know what's gotten into me. Maybe it's because I'm carrying a baby. I feel compassion seeing injured animals, let alone a living person. I want to do more good deeds for the baby inside me."
