Miho followed closely behind, deliberately keeping her gaze away from the lovey-dovey pair ahead of her. Her ears were faintly red from embarrassment.
The moment they stepped inside, the sharp clang of metal striking metal echoed through the workshop. The rhythmic scrape of sharpening stones mixed with the dry hiss of heated steel being quenched blended with the waves of heavy warmth spilling from the glowing furnace. The air was thick with the scent of hot iron and coal.
The store owner looked up—and the instant his eyes landed on Lily, recognition flashed across his face, and he quickly straightened his posture.
"Please wait a moment, Miss," he said, already moving. "I'll bring out the weapon you commissioned."
