"The student ranking," Brant announced, his voice steady and echoing throughout the area, "will remain provisional until the Fresher Ranking Competition, which will be held on the 1st of January. Until then, your rankings will be determined solely by the number of trial points you've accumulated."
He paused, giving everyone a moment to process the words.
"And make no mistake—these rankings have nothing to do with your standing within your individual city trial. That system has been revised. Your current rank reflects your position among every student admitted from all twenty trial cities in the Aurelius Beast Academy."
A wave of murmur spread through the candidates.
"The total number of students admitted this year is… astounding," Brant continued calmly. "Five thousand students have been admitted—three thousand more than last year. So don't expect your ranking to be particularly flattering."
He folded his arms behind his back.
