I signed the last document without even reading the final page properly.
"Sir, the board meeting for tomorrow..."
"Move it."
Anthonio paused.
"But..."
"I said move it."
My voice came out rougher than I intended.
Nobody argued with me when I sounded like that.
I leaned back slowly against the chair and rubbed my face hard with both hands.
The entire week had been hell.....
Meetings.... Shipments..... Family dinners...… Security issues.... Grandfather breathing down my neck..... the Giordanos moving strangely.
Antonio practically sleeping outside my office because everybody was suddenly becoming a threat.
And through all that madness one thing stayed stuck in my head.
Aria still hadn't answered me.
One whole week after I proposed.
My eyes shut briefly as memories flooded me.
The both of us at seventeen.
Laughing beside me under the bleachers...…. laying on my chest while we talked about the future.
She smiling shyly as she showed me wedding dresses on her phone.
