I reached over grabbing her wrist and tapped the face of her watch.
"Watch the market indicator on the screen."
The second the security alert line turns red that's your cue…. means the room is secured you can count to ten.... then come in with Lorenzo."
"Clear?"
"Okay." she whispered her voice trembling slightly.
She took a deep breath consciously pulling herself together....
The fear was still there but she was letting go of the panic...… choosing to trust me blindly..... stepping off the ledge with nothing but my word to catch her.
I gave her hand one final squeeze turned on my heel and walked out the door to face the den of wolves.

Ten seconds.
The small light on my watch shifted from a steady amber to a sharp bleeding red.
I closed my eyes forcing the terror deep down into a dark corner of my mind where nobody could see it.
I couldn't walk into that room looking like a victim...…. In Alessandro's world weakness was an invitation to get slaughtered.
