Needles on the clock ran faster than light, and the day came. After fifteen days, in
Bhiyung.
Every team was working under the supervision of the team leader. Kong ended up escorting Team E. Down at the warehouse, the janitors' containers had arrived. When teams were separating for tasks, the marriage hall was filled with guests.
That day felt like a clock, with all the needles ticking one after another, and terrified of meeting at twelve.
In the quiet bridal room, Seo-Yeon and Jimin stood face-to-face.
"I hope everything will be settled between us after this marriage," Jimin said softly, and gently squeezed Seo-Yeon's hand. "Do you really want to marry that J?" Her voice was heavy.
"If not, then should I just run off with you instead?" Jihoon strolled in with a smirk, throwing her a quick wink. Seo-Yeon took a heavy step and smacked the back of his head.
"This is not a fantasy, and I am okay."
A few nervous chuckles broke out just as Suzy walked in, holding the bridal bouquet. "I saw the Jeons in the hall. Were they invited too?"
Seo-Yeon shrugged. "Maybe Mom invited them."
She leaned closer to Suzy and whispered in her ear, "What about the case?"
"I am here to inform you that we have to go," She replied, adjusting Seo-Yeon's gown. Seo-Yeon raised her brows. "We?"
"Me and her. " Jihoon tugged at his formal suit.
Seo-Yeon's eyes narrowed. "Did you really choose him?" She said teasingly, aware of her nature. "Do you really think he left any option for others?" Suzy rolled her eyes, making Soe-Yeon chuckle.
At the warehouse, men loaded with guns were shifting curtains. Two containers had been dispatched, so it meant the remaining two contained the weapons they had heard about.
"Hurry up, move your hands fast," the supervisor shouted. "Everything should be dispatched before the evening."
All teams were connected through walkie-talkies. The moment Lady Won gave the signal, Team E slipped quietly past the outer fence.
While things moved quietly in the warehouse, the exhibition, Myth and Mystery, started. All the guests seemed like tycoons, but were not recognizable.
Jihoon and Suzy sat at Table 9 in their disguises as the bidding started, watching people drop insane money on rare antiques.
"The one on the stage is Janitor?" Suzy whispered. "No, he doesn't seem," Jihoon muttered.
In Section 4 of the warehouse, Lady Won made it to the target crate. "Containers are in Section 4," her voice echoed through the team's earpieces.
Suddenly, the cold steel of a gun barrel pressed right into the back of her head.
"Got a lot of nerve, stepping right into the lion's den," a guard growled. Before he could pull the trigger, Kong swung a heavy brick straight into the side of the guy's head. The guard dropped like a stone.
"A real man doesn't put his hands on a woman," Kong muttered, shaking off his knuckle.
The sudden crash alerted the other guards, and within seconds, Team E was surrounded.
Back in the exhibition hall, Jihoon's eyes were glued to Perth. He had never attended an exhibition before, so why now? That's when his eyes fell on the person standing behind him; he slowly held out a gun. Jihoon observed every person present there; they all had weapons.
"We need to get out of here." Jihoon grabbed Suzy's hand under the table. "But...Why?"
BANG!
A single shot blew out the crystal chandelier overhead, sending glass raining down on the crowd. Team A attacked at the right time; everyone started running. In the chaos, a man bumped into Suzy.
"Manager Dong?!"
Before she could stop him, he pushed her and ran away. She was about to chase him, but Jihoon yanked her by the waist and pulled her behind a stone pillar just as a burst of bullets chewed through the plaster above them. She shoved his chest furiously.
"Are you out of your mind?! You're gonna get killed!" Jihoon held his grip tight and looked straight into her eyes. "Stay down!"
She shot him a furious gaze, making him loosen his grip.
"You wait for me here," Suzy snapped, and vanished into the crowd.
Down at the warehouse, Team E examined the container thoroughly before cracking it open. "This Logo..." Lady Won rubbed it; her breath hitched,
"It's Lee's container. He is back."
At the front of the hall, away from the madness, Seo-Yeon and Jimin walked the aisle in their tailored gowns, holding bouquets of roses and white lilies.
"My angels have grown up so fast and turned into beauty." Yoo Han said, smiling.
The pastor opened his book and turned to the brides. "In the presence of everyone gathered here, do you promise to stand by your groom through the highs and lows, in wealth and poverty, in joy and sorrow, even when the world turns against him? Will you be his partner for life?"
"I do," Jimin said softly, squeezing Yoo Han's hand.
"Do you, Ms. Yeon?" the pastor asked.
"I... I do." She hesitantly replied; something felt heavy in her heart.
The pastor turned to the grooms. "In your presence, you promise to protect her and respect her values. As she is going to invest her life in you, you'll never make her cry. You will be her peaceful spot. You will never leave her behind, even if you lose every battle. Do you?"
"I do." Yoo Han gently tightened his grip on Ji Min's hand and smiled. He felt that fortune favored him by sending Ji Min into his life.
Beside him, J stared straight at Seo-Yeon's veil. A small, cold smirk hit his lips as he gave a single nod. "I do."
"You may now exchange rings," the pastor announced.
Yoo-Min exchanged rings first. The whole hall echoed with clapping and best wishes.
Seo-Yeon stared down at her hand, her head spinning. Is this right? Am I dragging an innocent person into my mess? I should stop this. She glanced over at Kim Rahae. Mom looked so happy; she barely ever smiled like that. It's too late to back out... but what if he expects a normal life? What if he forces me into something I don't want? What if everything falls apart?
Seo-Yeon shut her eyes. A tear fell on the lily. Oh heavens, send some help. She whispered to herself.
J grabbed her trembling hand and went to slide the ring onto her finger when his earpiece suddenly buzzed with heavy static.
A frantic whisper cut through from Team E: "J, it's Lee's container; there's no weapon, but here's a gold portrait. It's... It's Kim Seo-Yeon of Kim Enterprises."
Back at the exhibition hall, an antique on the stage fell to the ground, shattering into pieces. The First Prince's eyes went wide. He slammed his hand against his ear just as Team A's signal hit every walkie-talkie at once:
"The weapons are inside the antiques!"
Before J could push the ring onto her finger, a rough, booming voice echoed across the whole hall:
"Stop the wedding! The groom is a mobster!"
Seo-Yeon pulled her hand back instantly.
