Liam stared at the barrel.
Eight inches from his face. Maybe less.
He didn't move. Neither did the man behind it.
"Get in," the man said. Flat. Direct.
Liam's eyes moved from the barrel to the window. Dark interior. Cream leather just visible. The man with the gun was in the back seat, dark suit, face blank, the kind of blank that wasn't calm but had learned to look like it. Someone else was sitting beside him. Something red. That was all Liam could make out through the glass.
'Who are these guys,' he thought. 'Pulling up to my building in a Phantom at this hour with a Desert Eagle like this is a normal Tuesday. What do they want. Why here. Why now.'
He looked back at the one with the gun. "Why should I get in."
"Because I'm pointing this at your head," the man said. "And I'll pull the trigger right now."
Liam looked at the barrel again.
