Elena looked at him sitting on the couch and then looked at herself and then looked at the general state of both of them.
"I need to shower," she said, glancing back with a slow smile. "Wanna come?"
Liam looked at her. "You were sitting on a log."
"I was sitting on a log in a forest while two people were trying to kill each other in front of me," she said. "I feel dirty."
"That's not how being near a fight works."
"Also the log," she said. "I don't know what was on that log. Bark. Moss. Whatever lives inside old wood." She looked at him with complete seriousness. "I could have caught something."
Liam put his hand over his face. "That's not how logs work."
"Either way," she said, already standing, already reaching for the hem of her top, "I'm getting a shower and you're joining me."
She pulled the top up and off in one movement and dropped it.
Liam watched it fall.
