Liam looked at Kelly's hand on his lower back and then at Elena in front of him still in position, her breathing not fully recovered, her arms trembling slightly from the sustained effort of holding herself up through everything that had just happened to her.
He drove forward once more.
"Oh," Elena said. "Oh god."
"One more," he said quietly. "You're close."
She pressed her forehead against the mattress briefly, a sound leaving her that was not composed in any direction, and then she straightened her arms back up and pushed back against him.
Ta. Ta. Ta. Ta.
Kelly's hand stayed at his lower back, warm and patient, her cheek back on the mattress, watching from below with the eyes of someone who had returned and was content to wait for exactly as long as was necessary.
Elena's sounds climbed steadily, each one more present than the one before, her hips working back against each forward stroke with increasing urgency, the restraint she usually maintained entirely absent.
