~Jethro's POV~
I felt the shift in the air before I saw her face. That wild scent hit me again, and stronger now, closer, like smoke wrapped around iron. I turned back just in time to watch Serah change. Her eyes bled to pure black, veins crawling dark across her cheeks and throat, fangs lengthening until they pressed against her lower lip. She looked ready to tear through stone, furious, and deadly.
Lydia's voice cracked beside me. "Jethro, what is Serah trying to do?"
Lady Luis, Serah's mother, stepped forward, nose wrinkling. "What is going on? Why does she smell so different now?"
I didn't answer either of them, instead, my blood was already roaring. I let the change take me also, with my bones shifting, muscles thickening, eyes burning amber as my alpha form ripped through. Fur bristled along my arms and shoulders, claws extending. The baby in Lydia's arms started crying, sharp little wails that rang through everything.
