Chapter 50 - The Wedding

(Third Person POV)

The union between Prince Daemon and Lady Laena had finally happened. The Wedding took place in the Red Keep and despite the tension that had filled both Houses prior, the entire ceremony had gone smoothly.

Lady Laena held a warm and beautiful smile the entire time, showing a look of affection to Prince Daemon who returned the look. Nobody knew that the two of them had several fights prior to the wedding, all because Daemon Targaryen had fathered a bastard. He had no idea where the child was at the moment, unaware that Aegor was the one who knew.

Nevertheless, everything had gone right at the wedding. Many Lords and Ladies had attended, from all over the Realm, witnessing the second union between House Targaryen and House Velaryon.

It was a happy night for everyone and one that they would not forget.

And now, the celebratory banquet was being held after the ceremony. Aegor was sitting down with his wife, Selene, who wore a black and red dress, showing a bit of cleavage. She had her hair combed straight, with some jewels adorned on it. The mere sight of Lady Selene's beauty was enough to shine in the room; everyone could not help but stare.

Aegor was aware of these stares, but he didn't care. He knew that Selene belonged to him and only him.

He had his arm wrapped around her waist as Lady Selene was speaking with some Ladies across the table. He was looking around the main hall where the Banquet was taking place. He spotted a certain Kingsguard at the far edge of the room, standing upright.

Aegor smirked slightly at the sight of Criston Cole, who had a serious look on his face.

"Hm." He said as he took a sip from his cup

He then moved his gaze over to the main table, where King Viserys sat next to Daemon. Alicent was sitting next to the King, occasionally glancing at her personal Kingsguard, which Aegor was noticing. Looking over to the nearby table, he saw that Rhaenyra was sitting next to Laenor, glancing over to Aegor.

Their eyes locked for a couple of seconds, but their expressions didn't change. Rhaenyra merely looked down and back up at him. Then, after another few seconds, she gave him a nod. A silent exchange between the two of them; she wanted him that night.

Selene leaned towards him, "You haven't drunk that much." She whispered, "Are you alright?"

Aegor looked at him, "What do you mean?"

"Parties like these, you're usually drowning in wine." She said with a chuckle, placing her hand on his lap, "You haven't finished your first cup."

"Quite the observant wife I have." Aegor smirked, "I intend to be sober for tonight. I wish to have you so badly. You look amazing, my wife. Mayhaps we should make another one...."

"Now now, calm down." She chuckled as she leaned closer to him, a warm smile on her face, "Tonight is not about me."

"That, you are right." Aegor said as he stood up, pulling her up, "Let's go and congratulate my uncle and aunt."

Selene smiled as Aegor pulled her along as he walked over to the main table, "O-Okay!"

The two of them reached the table where Daemon and Laena sat and Aegor cleared his throat, straightening up.

"Uncle. Lady Laena." He said as he held Selene's hand, "Congratulations on this wonderful moment of yours."

Daemon raised his eyebrow, "Rather strange coming from you."

Aegor smirked slightly, "Well...." He said, "Like you or not, you are my Father's brother."

Lady Laena smiled, "Thank you Aegor." She said, "I hope our families get along better."

"You look beautiful, Lady Laena." Selene said with a smile, "A beauty like yourself, Prince Daemon is quite fortunate."

"I assure you, Lady Selene." Daemon said with an arrogant smirk, "The fortunate one is your husband, who doesn't deserve someone so kind and gentle. To deal with him is a-"

"Enough, husband." Laena cut him off

Aegor chuckled, "Well...." He said, "From now on, our Houses are bound by fate. Who knows, maybe our children will marry, Uncle. That does sound nice, eh? To forge stronger bonds between us."

"That doesn't sound terrible." Daemon told him, "Mayhaps...."

Laena smiled at Aegor, "Yes, Aegor." she said with a certain glint in her eyes, "Our children marrying is a wonderful thing to look forward to in the future. That is a magnificent idea.'

Aegor nodded, "Well, I leave you to it now." He said with a chuckle, "Wife..."

Selene bowed slightly, "Congratulations, again." She said with a warm smile, "We must take our leave now."

"Thank you." Laena said with a warm tone

Before Aegor and Selene walked away, he noticed that Queen Alicent was giving him an unusual stare as King Viserys was eating and drinking. She had a straight posture, her hands on her lap, and was simply staring at Aegor as he began to walk away.

As he and Selene returned to the table, she looked at him with a frown.

"She's giving you a weird look again." She said softly

"You saw that?" Aegor asked

She nodded as they sat back down, "Yes." She said, "What happened between the two of you?"

"Nothing." Aegor told her, "It's strange, she's been acting like this all week. It's becoming annoying. I have to confront her about it."

"No, be careful." She said, "She is still the queen. Do not do anything foolish, Aegor."

"Hm." Aegor said, "Foolish things are what I do, my wife. I have to clear things up with her."

Little does Selene know that Aegor had already confronted her about a certain thing. Alicent's gaze was merely out of paranoia; she didn't want Aegor to say anything to anyone about what he could potentially know.

Selene held his hand tightly, "Do not ruin such a wonderful day." She said softly, "Okay? I promise you, you can indulge in me all you want tonight if you don't do anything stupid."

Aegor smirked, "Oh? I'll take you up on that offer." He said as he leaned closer and kissed her cheek,

"I'll ravage you good, wife."
