Chapter 176 - Chapter 174 All kinds of martial arts, this is the Thompson submachine gun!

The God King's wrath shook the heavens and the earth.

When Melqart picked himself up from the spring, even though he was severely wounded, a despairing power erupted from him that Liliyana found utterly irresistible.

"No matter who you are, you've successfully enraged me!"

His eyes, burning with furious anger, stared at Ares before him, his voice, suppressing his rage, was like an approaching storm.

"It seems before I can have my decisive battle with that God of War, I'll have to clean up some annoying insects first!"

"Hmph, easy for you to say. Can you instantly kill me?"

Ares picked his ear, saying flippantly:

"Anyone can talk big, but if you can't do it, don't try to make a scene here."

Melqart closed his mouth, and the flow of his sorcery power surged to another level. At this moment, even Liliyana felt that the God King of Canaan before her seemed to be in danger of rising blood pressure.

It was Liliyana's first time seeing someone dare to provoke a God of Disobedience to this extent. After all, even those God Slayers, referred to as "demon kings walking upon the earth," didn't act as provocatively as Ares when facing a God of Disobedience.

Although they were opposing existences, normally speaking, God Slayers were actually slightly weaker than Gods of Disobedience. Every time a God Slayer defeated a God of Disobedience, it was essentially a miracle of the weak overcoming the strong.

The weak facing the strong usually couldn't afford to be flippant or arrogant. For God Slayers, Gods of Disobedience were also the only opponents, besides their own kind, who could make them go all out.

Therefore, the scene before them was largely a marvel for Magicians worldwide, but Liliyana was not happy at all about witnessing this once-in-a-millennium spectacle, because Melqart was not someone to be provoked casually. What he had said earlier about shattering Sardinia and sinking it into the sea was not an empty boast; with the power of Gods of Disobedience, if no one stopped them, they truly could do such things.

Watching the God King of Disobedience, who remained silent but was clearly preparing to vent his anger, Liliyana seemed to have made some kind of decision. She took a deep breath, raised the silver-white long blade in her hand, and then softly chanted:

"Essence of illusion, steel that plays beautiful melodies! Please grant me unseen wings!"

Along with this incantation, an unheard melody seemed to spread from the blade in her hand, turning into demonic energy that filled the surroundings. However, this demonic melody had no effect whatsoever on Ares and Melqart. Noticing her actions, Ares looked at her curiously, and Liliyana explained with some helplessness:

"At this point, we can only deal with him here, otherwise the entire island of Sardinia might really be submerged in the sea."

"Huh? You're that tough?"

Ares raised an eyebrow:

"You were clearly trembling just now."

"Whose fault do you think that is, Mister?"

Facing this situation, Liliyana couldn't help but get angry at Ares. She bit out the words "Mister" syllable by syllable, saying it irritably.

"I already told you, my purpose in coming here was to find him."

Ares waved his hand:

"Relax, since I dared to provoke him, I must have come prepared. Don't worry, humans are my friends too. Although Rome has fallen, Sardinia will not sink."

"What do you mean by that?"

Liliyana only had time to ask one question before she heard Melqart already chanting his Divine Authority:

"Pursue! Banish! Pursuers, become a pair of weapons for my claws, pursue! Let him witness the might of my wrath!"

As he chanted, a pair of thick wooden clubs gradually appeared in Melqart's hands. These were humanity's first weapons at the dawn of civilization. The combination of a strong man and wooden clubs easily brought to mind another world-renowned deity, Heracles, the strongman of greek mythology.

When Melqart gripped these clubs and slowly raised them, Liliyana could already hear the explosive sounds of storms and thunder from the surface above the underground temple. These sounds even traveled through the long underground corridors, echoing within this subterranean temple, indicating how drastic the weather changes on the surface were at that moment.

Boom!

Finally, a bolt of lightning tore through the earth, descended into the deep underground, and converged on the wooden clubs in Melqart's hands. The enraged God King gripped the clubs, now entwined with massive amounts of lightning, and swung them fiercely at the blasphemer before him.

"This is—Divine Punishment!"

The God King's hammer of judgment crashed down, striking towards Ares. With great force comes miracles; although Melqart's weapons were just primitive wooden clubs, even the wind pressure generated by their swings had the power to demolish buildings and instantly flatten cars.

However, facing this terrifying blow, Ares neither dodged nor retreated, but instead actively met it.

"Hey!"

Liliyana's eyes widened, watching the man's seemingly suicidal movement, but in that brief instant, not even long enough for a single breath, a terrifying power, no less than Melqart's, suddenly erupted from Ares's body as he stepped forward. Red flames seemed to ignite on the surface of his body, and the muscles between his fists and arms swelled, coiling with visible electric light.

He clenched his fist, then suddenly turned his body, dodged, and punched, executing a move that even a seasoned martial artist could not achieve. From an uncanny angle, he cut into the gap between Melqart's arm and body, while simultaneously delivering a heavy punch to Melqart's face.

"Hmm?"

In an instant, the injured Melqart only had time to raise his other club to block before him, and then he was sent reeling back several steps by the powerful force transmitted through the club. The remaining force passed through his body, turning into a fist-pressure that opened a massive and deep chasm in the ground.

"This power, are you truly one of my kind?"

Melqart glanced at his slightly trembling arm, then looked at Ares with surprise. This strike, surprisingly, caused his anger to subside, making him more cautious.

"I told you I'm Ares," Ares grumbled, seeing his taunt towards Melqart about to fade, so he quickly added another provocative remark: "Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies, eats poop."

"xxxxx!" Melqart's hair stood on end. He cursed something furiously in a very ancient language, then the two great clubs, Pursuit and Banishment, in his hands, struck at Ares again.

But it was at this moment that he simultaneously raised both clubs, leaving his mid-section unguarded and wide open.

Ares, with the intuition of a God of War, accurately seized this fleeting opportunity. The moment Pursuit and Banishment came crashing down, he rolled on the ground, rolling into Melqart's embrace, and at the same time, pulled out the thompson submachine gun loaded with special bullets from his clothes, pressing it against Melqart's chest.

"My lord, times have changed."

Ares smiled as he pulled the trigger, shouting:

"The God of War possesses a hundred martial arts, this is the thompson submachine gun!"
