-------------------------------------------------------------
Not long after, Haku arrived with Kisame in tow, finding Kagaya.
Kisame looked at the nearly dead Danzo beside Kagaya and spoke with dissatisfaction. "What's this? It's already over?"
Kagaya, keeping his left eye closed, replied, "No, it's not over. This is just the beginning."
Currently, Kagaya's left eye was nearly blind. Opening it would only impair his vision.
Kisame looked at Kagaya's tightly shut left eye.
"In that state, can you still keep fighting?"
A cold laugh escaped Kagaya. "Either I die, or they all die. Otherwise, I won't stop no matter what."
Then, he turned his attention to Haku. "Haku, you and Karin stay here and watch Danzo. If necessary, you can administer some basic treatment to him. Don't let him die too quickly. At the very least, ensure he still has a breath left when I return."
Haku nodded. "Oh, okay."
Karin, who had been silently following Kagaya all the way here, also nodded from behind him. Throughout the journey, she hadn't dared to speak, making her presence feel rather low-key.
After that, Kagaya stood up and began walking in the direction of Konoha's Hokage Office. "Kisame, let's go."
Kisame grinned widely. "Right!"
The order Kisame had received from Tobi was simple: No need to hold back. Kill as many as possible.
"W-wait, wait!"
Suddenly, Karin called out to stop the two of them.
Kagaya and Kisame turned, looking at Karin with curiosity.
Karin scurried up to Kagaya, rolled up her sleeve, and presented her pale arm to him, speaking with a hint of shyness.
"Kagaya, my body has healing abilities. Just... just take a bite."
As she spoke, she worriedly glanced at Kagaya's left eye.
Kagaya smiled faintly. In this world, at this moment, the only people who would remain completely aligned with him were Karin and Haku. No matter what he did, these two would support him.
With that thought, he lowered his head, opened his mouth, and bit down gently.
Instantly, Kagaya felt his depleted chakra rapidly replenishing. The pain in his left eye gradually receded, and his chakra reserves were restored.
Releasing her arm, Kagaya couldn't help but praise, "Truly an incredible ability, Karin."
Karin's face flushed uncontrollably. She fidgeted slightly as she spoke, "A-as long as Kagaya is satisfied..."
Kagaya let out a soft chuckle, turned around, and continued towards the Hokage Office.
Meanwhile, within a purple barrier in the Forest of Death...
The Third Hokage stared at Orochimaru before him with a grim expression. "Orochimaru, what is the meaning of this?"
Orochimaru looked at the Third with an expression of feigned surprise. "Meaning? Surely you understand, Teacher? Isn't it obvious enough already?"
The Third's face turned cold. "It seems you truly intend to destroy Konoha."
Orochimaru shook his head. "Destroy Konoha? No, no, no. It won't come to that. I won't go that far. However... I can't say whether my partner will or not."
The Third furrowed his brow. Did Orochimaru have an accomplice? Itachi's report had mentioned nothing about Orochimaru having a partner.
"Your partner?"
Orochimaru smiled eerily. He hadn't brought up his partner unintentionally. He had done so deliberately to prompt the Third's question. He wanted to see the expression on the Third's face upon learning that the plan to destroy Konoha was orchestrated by two Konoha missing-nin.
"Ah, right. I forgot to tell you, Teacher. You should know that person. After all, it was your Konoha who drove them to become a missing-nin in the first place. You killed their parents, killed their older brother, and finally exterminated their entire clan. If it were me, I'd defect too."
The Third's eyes widened. "You mean..."
Orochimaru continued with a smile. "Yes. Uchiha Kagaya. I believe that name shouldn't be unfamiliar to you."
The Third's face turned ashen as he pressed, "Did he explicitly say he would destroy Konoha?"
Orochimaru tilted his head slightly. "Well, no. But he did tell me that no one involved in that incident back then would escape. At this point, let me think... Danzo is probably dead by now. So, after Danzo, the next targets should be..."
The Third immediately realized what this meant. Without hesitation, he turned and shouted to the Konoha shinobi outside the barrier, "Aside from those containing the tailed beasts, all other shinobi, return to the Hokage administration buildings immediately! Protect the elders!"
If there were others besides himself and Danzo who could be considered masterminds in the Uchiha clan massacre, it would undoubtedly be the two elders, Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado.
Orochimaru sneered. "Teacher, you should worry about yourself first. Impure World Reincarnation!"
Meanwhile, Kagaya and Kisame had been swiftly advancing towards the Hokage administration area when, halfway there, they suddenly halted.
Kagaya looked at the figure blocking their path and clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Almost forgot. So he's here too. This complicates things."
The man before them had a shock of white hair, red markings on his face, wore a red haori over a grey outfit.
One of the Legendary Sannin, Jiraiya!
Kagaya had completely forgotten that Jiraiya was in Konoha during the Chunin Exams period.
Kisame narrowed his eyes. He could sense that the person before them was an absolute powerhouse. "This is..."
Kagaya answered, "One of the Sannin, Jiraiya. You must know of him."
Jiraiya stared coldly at the two of them. "It seems you two are also among the foreign enemies invading Konoha this time."
Kagaya coldly said. "Move aside, Jiraiya."
If Kagaya were alone, he would undoubtedly be stalled here by Jiraiya, and might even lose the fight.
But unfortunately, Kagaya wasn't alone. He had Kisame by his side. If they fought with all their might, Kagaya didn't believe they would lose to Jiraiya.
Jiraiya shook his head. "I'm afraid I can't do that. I need to deal with you two quickly."
Jiraiya didn't recognize Kisame or Kagaya, assuming the two before him were minor players. At the moment, he just wanted to dispose of them swiftly and then hurry to assist the Third Hokage.
Kisame drew the Samehada sword from his back.
"Perfect. I'd like to see for myself the strength of the legendary Sannin. Heh."
Kagaya opened his left eye. Then, both eyes began to turn crimson, three tomoe appearing within each. "Since you won't step aside, there's no other choice."
Kagaya wasn't Naruto; he didn't engage in 'talk-no-jutsu.' If Jiraiya wasn't going to let them pass, they could only fight. They'd just have to beat him into submission first.
Jiraiya looked at Kagaya's eyes with surprise. "The Sharingan?! You're a survivor of the Uchiha?"
Kagaya let out a derisive laugh. "Survivor? Well said! Do you know why I became a survivor?"
Jiraiya fell silent. He had heard some things about the Uchiha incident.
A kunai appeared in Kagaya's hand. "Now, this survivor intends to make those who turned me into a survivor experience the same fate I did!"
