Jax brushed the hair from her face while she was on top of him. "What? Did you really think you were invisible while you were eavesdropping on Aishvara?"
He gently pushed her away and rose from the bed. "While you were keeping an eye on the Queen, I was doing the exact same thing to you."
"It all began yesterday night, when I was returning to give my services to the queen. Then I happened to notice a rather dedicated little eavesdropper listening through the conversation between her own daughter and Aishvara."
Jax picked up his clothes and started dressing himself, unhurried, as if the door and the cursing on the other side of it could wait their turn.
"Your face was practically announcing that you'd just heard something you weren't supposed to. As it turned out, my curiosity paid off."
