Chapter 204 - Chapter 204: The Little Rabbit Shows Great Power

Chapter 204: The Little Rabbit Shows Great Power

When the little rabbit heard Huo Wu's warning, she was slightly stunned, thinking that this woman wasn't entirely bad.

She then ignored her shouting, a slight smile curling at the corner of her mouth as the fourth black soul ring on her body gleamed.

"Fourth Soul Skill: Invincible Golden Body."

A golden protective shield appeared around Xiao Wu. When the fireball made contact with her, a violent explosion erupted.

With a loud "boom," the entire arena was engulfed in a sea of flames.

Huo Wu furrowed her brow, her fists clenched tightly, indicating her agitation. She knew that even though Xiao Wu was a Soul King, taking the full brunt of the Fire Dance Sun Blaze after the fusion skill should either kill or seriously injure her.

Moreover, the Soul Master competition strictly forbade fighting to the point of disfigurement or death. In serious cases, Blaze Academy could even be disqualified from the future rounds.

As her thoughts raced, Huo Wu suddenly heard Huo Wushuang's anxious voice.

"Sister, be careful!"

Huo Wushuang hadn't seen Xiao Wu's figure yet, but from the calm expressions of Ning Rongrong and the others, he deduced that the little rabbit must have some countermeasure in place. She couldn't possibly lose to the Fire Dance Sun Blaze.

Huo Wu snapped back to reality at the sound of her brother's call, searching frantically through the sea of flames for Xiao Wu's figure.

But it was too late. Xiao Wu, using her Invincible Golden Body to block the Fire Dance Sun Blaze, had already teleported behind Huo Wu.

"Eight-Stage Throw!"

Huo Wu's soul nearly left her body when she heard the sound from behind. She tried to release her third soul skill, but it was too late.

Her chin took a heavy blow, sending her flying into the air, her head spinning with dizziness.

Moments later, pain shot through her rear end.

It turned out that Xiao Wu's Eight-Stage Throw had landed squarely on her behind.

Initially, Xiao Wu had intended to go all out, but seeing how Huo Wu had warned her to run just before the attack, Xiao Wu decided to give her only a small lesson.

"Ugh."

The Eight-Stage Throw was completed smoothly, and Huo Wu landed behind the arena in a "falling crane" style, letting out a painful cry.

Knowing that she had lost the fight, Huo Wu glared fiercely at the little rabbit on the stage, receiving applause. She then stood up, clutching her behind, and limped off toward the waiting area.

"Sister, are you okay?"

Seeing her brother rush up anxiously to check on her injuries, Huo Wu's face turned red. How could she admit that her rear end was so swollen she couldn't even stand properly?

How embarrassing for a grown woman.

With a heavy heart, she could only smile at her brother and say, "Don't worry, I'm fine!"

Huo Wushuang let out a small sigh of relief upon hearing her, then gave a grateful glance to Xiao Wu.

"She's actually pretty nice!"

After he spoke, Huo Wushuang heard a strange sound beside him, almost like someone baring their teeth.

He turned back to look at his sister, who was forcing a smile that looked more painful than crying.

"Yeah, she's actually pretty nice."

With that, she quickly avoided Huo Wushuang's gaze, covering her behind as she walked toward the resting area.

Though Huo Wushuang found it strange, he didn't give it much thought. He quickly indicated to the referee that he forfeited, not believing he could face the remaining five Soul Kings and one Soul Ancestor by himself.

With Huo Wushuang's forfeit, Royal Fight Team II completed their promotion match journey and advanced to the finals with an undefeated record.

As Blaze Academy was walking out of the arena, they encountered Feng Xiaotian, who had been waiting by the entrance.

When Huo Wu approached, Feng Xiaotian pulled out a jade box from his soul tool and handed it to her.

"Huo Wu, this is the Wind Family's patented balm, which has a powerful healing effect for external injuries."

Huo Wu, who had been confused about why Feng Xiaotian was waiting for her, turned red with embarrassment upon hearing this. She shot him a fierce glare.

"No need, I'm not injured!"

"Huo Wu, I watched the match closely. Don't be so stubborn."

Feng Xiaotian wasn't discouraged by her rude rejection and, with persistence, offered the balm again.

Even Huo Wushuang, who had been hesitant, realized that his sister was truly injured and quickly joined in to persuade her.

"Sister, where are you hurt? Please take it!"

Huo Wu's face turned darker, and she felt the pain in her injured spot intensify, but seeing that neither of them would give up, she snatched the jade box from Feng Xiaotian's hands with a cold snort and quickly left the arena.

But her walk, how should one put it… looked a bit comical.

Huo Wushuang scratched his head, puzzled. He nudged Feng Xiaotian.

"What's going on with her?"

"It's nothing, she's probably just upset about losing the match."

"Really?"

Huo Wushuang wasn't quite convinced, but he didn't pursue the issue further. He turned to Feng Xiaotian, who still didn't seem to be leaving.

"Brother Feng, is there anything else?"

"There is something I'd like to discuss with Brother Huo. How about we go have a drink together?"

"Sure, go ahead. I'll just let my father know."

Having won, Xiao Wu returned to the team with her nose in the air, eagerly looking at Ning Bei.

In this promotion match, only Xiao Wu had participated. The other teams didn't even get a chance to gather information.

Naturally, Ning Bei didn't hesitate to shower her with compliments, praising the little rabbit so much that she almost thought about what to name her future children.

As a reward, they even ordered a table full of exquisite dishes from a well-known restaurant in Soul Master City, making Xiao Wu extremely happy for quite some time.

Ning Rongrong subtly distanced herself from her friends, afraid others might find out she knew Xiao Wu.

"One table of carrots and she's this happy. Truly embarrassing, such a useless thing."

Next came a week of rest for all participating teams, and Ning Bei didn't give the little ones any further instructions. After all, with their strength, the championship was almost guaranteed.

One week later, the finals began.

Ning Bei couldn't help but complain about the format of the Soul Master competition. The three seed teams were directly placed into the finals and even got a bye in the first round.

He didn't mind the Wuhun Hall team getting a bye, but did Star Luo Royal Academy and Tiandou Royal Academy really deserve to be in the same league? Of course not!

Star Luo at least had Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun, both advanced Soul Ancestors with a fusion skill. Meanwhile, the leader of the Tiandou team was Ning Bei's old brother, Yu Tianheng, a mere 43rd-level Soul Ancestor.

After taking Dugu Yan, they replaced her with a 41st-level Control-type Soul Ancestor with a Mandala Snake martial soul. The rest of the team remained the same.

They didn't even stand a chance against Star Luo or Wuhun Hall, and might even lose to Element Academy.

What kind of seed team was that? It was a complete joke. How could they call it a seed team when they were just padding their numbers?

And as for the promotion matches, they were completely unnecessary. Why not just have a qualification round and go straight to elimination matches?

But complaints aside, Ning Bei wasn't interested in wasting energy to change the competition rules. It was just more rounds of weak teams clashing.

The draw ceremony concluded, and Royal Fight Team II's opponent for the first round of the finals was Thunder Academy, another team that had forfeited in the first two rounds.
