Morgana came back angry.
Not at the outcome. Not at Satou or Loki or anyone she was going to have to look at. At Chronus, for the seal itself — for the specific insult of having been removed from a battle she had been building toward for two centuries, like a piece being cleared from the board so the real game could proceed without interference.
Morgana had a very precise understanding of exactly what she was to Chronus.
An obstacle.
An obstacle he had spent two hundred years unable to move and had finally moved by waiting for the one morning she left.
This understanding did not make her feel better.
She returned to the northwest anchor point with the specific quality of someone who had spent twenty-four hours in a sealed dimension fighting a containment structure with her bare magical capability and had won, and was now standing in a forest clearing that felt wrong in the way forests felt wrong after something significant had been done in them.
