Inside the room,
a doctor was applying medication to Harith's neck.
Harith's eyes remained fixed on Ain's face,
while his hand continued to hold hers.
"All done, Miss. I'll head out now. If you need anything, just press the button on the wall by the bed, and I'll come right over," the doctor said, before walking out, accompanied by a nurse.
"I'll be heading off now, Miss Ain. I'm leaving Harith in your care—please look after him,"
the manager said, glancing at both of them.
Ain looked at Harith's manager and replied, "Alright."
With that, the manager also left the room.
"You've been staring at me this whole time—aren't you tired?" asked Ain
who was sitting on a chair facing Harith,
who sat on the hospital bed.
Harith shook his head. "No," he replied.
Ain stood up to retrieve her phone from her handbag.
Harith's eyes widened slightly. "I'm just getting my phone," Ain explained.
Finally, Harith loosened his grip.
Ain picked up her phone.
"Forgive me for what I did. I shouldn't have forced you, but my heart just longed to see you," Harith said, his tone filled with guilt.
Ain placed her phone back on the table and looked at Harith. "Yes, the way you went about it—I didn't like that. But I truly hope that you love yourself even more than you love me," she said.
Harith stood up and pulled Ain into an embrace. "Ain, I can't live without you. You are the light in my life—please, give us a chance," he pleaded.
Ain did not respond; she remained silent.
"I'll take you home," Ain said after a long silence.
Harith looked at her. "No. I want to spend time with you. Wherever you go, I want to come along,"
he insisted stubbornly. Harith held Ain's hand. "Alright," Ain said.
Ain placed a mask on Harith, then put one on herself.
The two of them left the room, still holding hands.
Dian was waiting by the car; he watched as his lady approached, accompanied by Harith.
"Boss, where are we headed?" Dian asked.
Ain hesitated, trying to think. "Let's go to my place," Harith suggested to Ain.
Ain looked at Harith, feeling uneasy.
"I promise I won't do anything you wouldn't like," Harith said, raising his hand.
Ain signaled to Dian, and the two of them got into the car.
