Location the New Earth; North Pole, Close to the Cube
In the snow covered landscape of the North Pole, right now Arakune diving down at Luthor, with his skeletal spider-legs ready to stab into Luthor, only to be block by the barrier system on the warsuit, but to Luthor's surprise.
Aside from Superman, few pushed him back with a blow, as Arakune bounce back from the attack, so Capt. Cold moved next, aiming his gun and firing a stream of cold energy at lesser black beast, but Arakune reacted quickly.
Sprouting some skeletal spider legs to stretch them out and leap from the spot of Cold's attack, next Black Archer was about to fire a arrow, when Arakune yelled, "Minions!!" spawning several insect creatures into existence, from more multi-eye balled centipedes, along with bloated, misshapen flies, and large sharp-horned, giant beettles.
All these insects swarm forward at the Legion of Doom, Merlyn was initially surprised, but as a trained member of the League of Assassins, and archer, he smoothly reached for his quiver, pulling out more black arrows and letting loose.
Upon piercing the freakish flies, a set of strong explosion happened, Shiva commanded her assassins to attack, as Luthor backed away quickly redirecting his drones back, so they can kill this freak.
Then a centipede managed to wrapped itself on one of his leg, bringing down onto the ground, letting a beettle rush in to stab him, only for once again the energy barrier of his warsuit to save him, using the suit's augmented strength, he pryed open the centipede only to be attacked by a ginat spider creature, Arakune special Permutation move, as he cackled crazily.
As Luthor wrestled with another of Arakune's minions, he slushed forward leaping onto a assassin that killed another bug of his, smothering her in black ooze, he spoke, "Time to die." in a burst of pressure and ooze, he'd crushed her, blood gushed out and even absorbed into Arakune.
As he "stood" his blank mask, giving a menacing look at the prey before him, normally Arakune would be more aggressive, and summon much more minions to overwhelm these humans, but he is under orders to hold back a bit, and wait for Kefka's signal.
Laughing again, Arakune rushed forward as Black Archer and Capt. Cold fired at him...
Location some distance from the Cube, Southern Region
Flag, Deadshot, Harley, and Peacemaker, were firing at the monster centipedes, then as Capt. Boomerang tossed a special boomerang with plasma edge, slicing cleanly through several centipedes, more mutated black and reddish insects started emerging through the snow, some long, sharp horned beetles started crawling through the snow to ram and stab into the Suicide Squad members.
Katana slashed through some insects, with Diablo forced to blast his fire powers at the insects, burning them away along with the snow, Harley as she reloaded her gun, she complains, "Why the fuck, are their bugs here!!? Where are the cute polar bears and penguins!!!?" Boomer catch his boomerang, swinging his arm for another throw, he said to Harls, "Umm Harls, there aren't any penguins here..." Harley started complaining with a shocked expression on her face, as she couldn't believe what she just heard.
With a slightly sad, teary-eyed face, as a beetle charged over at her and she'd twirled to the side, firing her revolver into the beetle's eye falling dead on the snow, as she'd asked Boomer, "Really? Hollywood lied?" Flag, firing his machine gun, turned to Harley and yell at her to keep fighting and stop messing around.
It wasn't just them, also the combined group of the Young Justice and the Guardians were facing off with more of Arakune's insect minions, with Invincible, Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Robot doing the most damage on the insects, Static and Aqualad were originally worried about Invincible's wound, but he shuke their worries off.
Invincible and his friends, have literally had worse than a simple scratch on the leg, but as the heroes and anti-villains are making a push further into the Pole, the Hydra forces are under heavier assault.
At the western region of the tundra, thanks to Rhino, Electro, and Attuma's combined efforts, and Sin's command the troops to continue to advance, as they're finally making some progress, as Sin refuses to fail.
Just as Electro shocked several centipedes and bloated flies with his electric blasts, Rhino and Attuma bulldoze through the rest of the insects, as all HYDRA troops, mechs, and vehicles blast all targets, along with Attuma's Atlantean soldiers, directly fought these bugs, finally HYDRA was dominating and advancing towards the unknown structure, still far away.
While a HYDRA grunt, blasted a fly, he felt some rhythmic...shaking...looking up, he saw a huge monster!!
A giant of flesh, metal, and machinery, stomp forward at him, with massive, razor sharp, metallic claws at the end of very long arms, two engine blocks, surging with energy, it Golem.
One of the monsters of the Forsaken, that destroyed Jersey City, and some of Hell's Kitchen as well.
As the grunt desperately turned to try to shot at Golem, Golem struck growling and groaning as he swung his right arm, utterly crushing the human in bloody gore.
Not stopping his charge, Golem kept stomping forward a eventually more and more grunts of HYDRA, and Atlanteans, noticed the incoming flesh golem.
A grunt yelled, "Enemy contact!! Enemy cont..." before he was eviscerated by a claw swipe of Golem, but still everyone was now under alert, Sin saw the infamous monster, thus confirming these bugs are also apart of the Forsaken, regardless she pulled her plasma pistol, and commanded all troops to fire at Golem.
As she started the attack, not knowing her energy blasts from her pistol, was doing nothing but slightly empowering Golem, as he'd absorbed the energy shoots, groaning a bit, as the rest of the HYDRA troops started firing at him.
One of HYDRA weaknesses, that few exploit, their over dependence on energy based weaponry, only in rare occasions or a name character, mixing up with actual bullet firing guns.
Apart from that it was Kefka, that told Golem to attack HYDRA, as he absorb all the energy, the insects were taking majority of the attention of the rest of the HYDRA forces.
Golem growls, as more, more energy is piling up through his engine, a surge of purple lightning and energy is coursing through his body and engine.
Once he charge enough, he roars out loud, gaining everyone's attention as he yells, "Me got you!!" unleashing his Shock Wave, a huge, wide expanding purple electric energy shockwave, expands from Golem, obliterating all HYDRA troops and some of the Atlantean that went to fight Golem directly, all these grunts were burned to ash.
This surprises Sin, as she yelled more commands to focus all attacks on Golem, at that moment Rhino smirked and said, "Finally something worth my time." as he smashes his gauntlet fist onto the snow, charging straight at Golem.
Golem stood still, waiting for Rhino to reach him, once Rhino reaches a certain range, Golem roars, pulling back his right arm, which is now surging with purple electricity, Rhino saw this and smirked at the challenge, he pulled back his own fist, and both behemoths swung their fists, clashing against the other's fist.
A shockwave of force, and purple electricity burst out the impact between Rhino and Golem's impact.
Location the North Pole, Close to the Cube
Arakune has killed another of Lady Shiva's subordinates, as he dodged all of Capt. Cold, and Black Archer's attacks, Luthor...who managed to knock back the Arakune's spider off himself, was joining Snart and Merlyn's assault on Arakune.
Meanwhile Shiva herself went to lead her remaining assassins to face off against Arakune's insects, hacking and slashing the various monstrous bugs.
All the time, Arakune, he was enjoying himself, as this reminded him of his...feral past...facing off with Ragna the Bloodedge, Taokaka, and others from that previous world.
Now he is "sane" and more powerful than who he was, as he curved his mass avoiding another cold stream from Cold, laughing as he morphed his body like a giant mosquito...or something in the like, dashing straight at Capt. Cold to impale him.
Snart seeing the danger approaching, he rolled out the way, snarling, as he spoke, "Now I get why Mick is always, burning every bug, he sees." aiming his cold-gun and fired again at Arakune.
Who dodged Snart's attack, but not Merlyn's little trap, relying on Capt. Cold to position his target, right where he wants him, he shot some arrows in various locations that the ooze would avoid towards, and just like that those snow buried arrows, all exploded.
Hitting Arakune making him shriek, as he splatted onto the snow, groaning as centipedes and beetles shielded him, allowing him to recover from the blasts, as Luthor, Black Archer, and Cold fired relentlessly at Arakune and his insects, Arakune reformed himself.
"Glaring" at Black Archer, as he spoke, "That hurt..." Arakune's body started shaking and twisting, as they let out a loud shriek, as multiple insect limbs sprouted from Arakune's form.
Yelling in a high-pitched and twisted voice, "Kill you!! Kill you!!! Kill, kill, kill, diediediedie!!!!" as a black miniscule swarm are flying off of Arakune, swarming over at Merlyn.
Black Archer was shocked by this, and starts firing various arrows at wild, explosion, burst of flames, sparks of electricity, and freezing chunks, among the swarming black mass of miniscule insects, not causing any serious damage on the swarm, soaring at him.
That's when Snart stood in the way, blasting his cold-gun at full blast, freezing the entire swarm, inch by inch, while Arakune sneak in to attack while everyone is distracted by his smaller minions.
Once in position, the swarm spread out, escaping being completely frozen by Cold, Arakune was behind Merlyn sprouting a skeletal claw, grabbing the man's leg, before slamming him into the snow, dragging him away from the rest of the Legion, leaving his other insects to keep the others busy, as he dealt with the one that hurt and humiliated him.
As the Legion of Doom, were unable to help Black Archer, Arakune started delivering several blow, claw swipes, and stabs onto Merlyn, riddling him in bleeding wounds.
Arakune stretched a mass of ooze, wrapping around the Black Archer's waist, pulling Merlyn towards him, sprouting a couple of skeletal insect legs to stab deeply into the archer, killing him...when a big explosion occurred...Arakune sighed, as he was about to let go of Black Archer.
A large number of Luthor's attack drones finally arrived, firing at all of Arakune's insects, and next it be him, so even if he wanted to enjoy killing Black Archer, he has to follow the plan.
Acting in surprise yelling out, "Damn it Kefka!!! We're suppose to secure the thing, not destroy before getting what we want!!! Crazy clown!!" tossing Merlyn aside, he become pure formless ooze, disappearing in the snow.
As Merlyn recovered and readied his bow, he saw that Arakune has disappeared, as he hissed in pain, from the intense cold of the pole, Luthor landed next to him, using some scanning systems on his Warsuit to check on Merlyn's health status.
In the end, scans showed that all damage that Black Archer suffered, hasn't been intensive, seems that Arakune wanted Merlyn suffer slowly.
Merlyn got back on his feet, pulling a special trick arrow, that creates solidifying chemical, breaking a couple of these arrows and spread this chemicals on the deeper wounds, that Arakune did on him.
Soon Snart and Shiva with less number of assassins, surrounded by a large number of drones, they converse on what Arakune's last words, that the Laughing Destroyer, the Destroyer of Bludhaven, Kefka is also in the Pole and most likely the closest to the structure, this angered Luthor, as he ordered them all to go to the structure right now!!
As the Legion, doubled their efforts to obtain the marker before the Forsaken or Kefka destroy it, before they can record it.
Brief Flashback...
Location some distance from the Cube, Western Region; HYDRA Group
Golem and Rhino has started to clash, their fists causing a huge shockwave, but then to Aleksei's surprise, Golem reached over and grabbed him by head with his other claw, spinning the rhinoceros armored behemoth around, and tossing him into a HYDRA mech.
Destroying said mech, along with crushing the operator, as Aleksei was shaking off the slight dizziness, he just suffered from the throw that Golem did to him, suddenly as Rhino finally recovered he saw a giant flesh behemoth, yelling as he was diving towards him.
Before Rhino could react, Golem smashed onto him, Rhino even under his power armor, he felt that hit.
Grunting in pain, but he couldn't scream as Golem started smashing his fists onto Rhino, brutality beaten him.
Electro and all the HYDRA grunts watching Rhino getting beaten, they attacked Golem, blasting energy and electricity at Golem, as Sin noticed that Golem isn't being affected by their attacks at all...no their empowering the Forsaken Infernal Lord.
As Sin realized what's happening, she shouted to everyone to stop attacking Golem, but it was too late, already Golem is surging with great amount of energy, as Golem's arms and claws are surging purple electricity, as stabs into Rhino with his indestructible claws, as readjusted version of his Shock Punches.
Directly electricity into Rhino, being shocked with soo much energy that Rhino was spasms uncontrollably, not being able to scream from the excruciating pain.
Then before anyone could think of any way to help Aleksei, until Attume rushed in, kicking Golem on his side, the force of Attuma's kick, knocking Golem away.
As Golem scream in pain, Attuma aimed his three-pronged serrated broadsword at the slowly rising flesh golem, glancing at the surfacer Rhino, releasing wisps of steam and sizzle, groaning in pain, but still alive.
The wounds that Golem made, were also cartorized by the intense shock that he did to Rhino, so in a miraculous moment, that saved the brute's life.
Attuma yelled at the humans to get Rhino away, as he handled Golem, they did as they did as he command, Golem, he was back on his feet, panting angrily, as he spoke to Attuma, "Me was about to kill, horned man. Why you stop me?" Attuma scoffed, pointing his blade at Golem, before mocking him, "And I thought that oof Hulk, was a imbecile. I see I was mistaken." Attuma turned to Sin, asking her, "And this is one of those Infernal Lords, that destroyed a surface city? Don't make me..." suddenly Golem shoulder tackled the Atlantean warlord, smashing him onto the ground, Golem panting in a more angrier way, he said, "Me kill you!! Me given soul, by master!!! You not insult master, front of me!!!" roaring as he spread his arms wide, stomping straight at Attuma to fight him now...
