(Neji's POV)
-They've found us out.- Neji narrowed his eyes, his Byakugan activated. -One of them broke away, he'll probably go around the group and try to attack us from behind.
-But how?!- Tenten asked, shocked.
-They probably have a sensor.- Neji sighed before standing up. -Since they already know, let's attack directly!
-OOOOOOH! - Lee jumped up excitedly immediately. - Let's go!
Tenten sighed, but smiled nonetheless. - Okay.
The trio soon began to advance as Neji said. -Yes, they have a sensor, it's probably the guy with the water chakra. He stayed behind after realizing we were advancing and returned to the main group.
The pair nodded.
It didn't take long for both teams to meet, as soon as the opposing team saw them, Muzashi spoke. -A Byakugan, I see. That's how you found us.
Neji didn't say much, but he charged directly at him. - Vacuum Palm!
-Tsk, impatient boy.- The ninja jumped back, just in time to dodge the pressurized air.
Taro drew his katana from his waist and assumed an Iai stance, but the next moment, several weapons were fired directly at him.
Narrowing his eyes, he had to dodge them all, using his katana to block some of them.
-It's not over yet!- Tenten shouted, and with a tug, the steel wires tied to the weapons were stretched, pulling the weapons upwards. With a practiced movement, Tenten sent the weapons flying straight towards Taro.
On the other side, Lee was more animated, facing Chojuro.
-OOOOOH! - He shouted excitedly, now without the weights on his legs, he advanced so fast that Chojuro barely saw him coming, using his arm to defend himself, he groaned in pain, feeling that his bone almost cracked.
-Mada! Mada! - Lee shouted as he charged forward, the veins in his body bulging, he had opened the first gate!
The fight had started quickly, without any pretext, everyone began to fight with all their might!
Unfortunately for Lee, who was hoping for a fight where he could let loose and have fun, he didn't have time for that.
Neji was having trouble against Muzashi, his body turning into water whenever he was attacked, rendering his Taijutsu useless against him. Even so, the pair's fight was balanced, with Muzashi unable to easily attack Neji.
Whenever he tried, Neji took advantage to attack, and Muzashi had to liquefy himself, losing his chance to attack. Even so, Neji could see Muzashi's chakra rapidly decreasing, so he wasn't worried, he just needed to keep attacking until his chakra ran out.
However, the real problem was Tenten. Taro is very fast, Tenten's weapons managed to contain him at first, but Taro quickly got used to it, and Tenten was rapidly losing.
-Lee, stop playing around! Tenten won't be able to handle it!- Neji finally shouted, annoyed.
Lee, who was fighting so focused that he didn't pay attention to his surroundings, was surprised. He looked at Tenten, who already had several cuts on her body, and his heart froze.
At that moment, Chojuro took advantage of Lee's inattention, raising Hirameikarei, he condensed a chakra hammer and swung it towards Lee.
Lee's eyes widened and he dodged quickly, jumping backward, continuously moving away from Chojuro.
He knew he couldn't hold back any longer, so when he stopped, he crossed his arms in front of his body and shouted loudly. Immediately, a yellow aura surrounded him as his hair stood up in a high tuft, becoming blonde, and his eyes turned blue.
He had become a Super Saiyan! Now he could defeat Freeza!
[A/N: Ignore the previous two paragraphs, I couldn't resist the joke. Sorry for breaking your immersion, hahaha.]
He knew he couldn't hold back any longer, so when he stopped, he crossed his arms in front of his body and screamed loudly, his skin turning red and his pupils contracting to the point of almost disappearing, his veins bulging fiercely as his hair rose into the air with the chakra expelled from his body.
A green aura surrounded him as he screamed.
Chojuro was surprised, but Lee didn't wait, he had opened the fifth gate all at once, he wouldn't last long in that state.
-Let's go!-He shouted as he charged forward. Chojuro had barely been able to keep up with him before, this time he didn't even see Lee coming. The next moment he was thrown back, Lee's punch hitting him directly in the face, but Lee didn't stop.
He appeared right behind Chojuro and hit him again, and again, and again. Lee used the trees to move in all directions. Chojuro was being completely defeated without being able to fight back. Hiramekarei had already been thrown aside a long time ago.
Finally, Lee was ready to finish off Chojurou, but when his fist came close to Chojurou's face, Lee stopped, realizing that Chojurou had already fainted.
Chojuro's body fell weakly to the ground with a dull thud.
The two fights had stopped, and it was at this point that Taro and Muzashi ignored their opponents and ran, placing themselves in front of Lee and protecting Chojuro on their backs.
They were very shocked by this, Lee, who seemed like a funny guy, was actually the real danger to the group!
Neji shouted. -Lee, let's finish them off! We don't have much time.
Lee nodded, ready to advance, but Muzashi raised his hand, as if asking them to wait. He pulled the Tag from his ninja pouch and threw it directly to Neji. -Here, you can stay. We give up.
Muzashi didn't hesitate to give up, Chojuro was his primary source of protection. If anything happened to him during the fight, they would face the wrath of the Mizukage.
A Chunin exam wasn't worth that much.
So he didn't hesitate to give up.
He threw away their team's tag, but kept the tag they had taken from another team.
Neji picked up the Tag, glanced at it briefly, and nodded to Lee and Tenten, they only needed one, no matter which one it was.
So they turned around and left quickly, leaving Muzashi and Taro relieved.
-Is this guy really a Genin?- Muzashi shook his head.
Taro shrugged, turning to check on Chojuro.
Thus, Team Chojuro was eliminated while Team Gai advanced with enough Tags.
The three-day exam was drawing to a close, the best fight scenes had been compiled and broadcast on TV, but the Jonin could watch everything from beginning to end.
This exam was full of unknowns, and the outcome was incredibly unexpected.
The Konoha side was excited at that moment, seeing Team Gai manage to advance at the last minute.
On the other hand, Ao was very unhappy, as were the other jonin from Kiri, but there was nothing they could do.
When time finally ran out, all the teams had arrived at the clearing.
The teams that advanced were: Team Asuma, Team Kurenai, Team Gai, Team Dosu, Team Kimimaro, and Team Fuu.
Three from Konoha, two from Oto, and one from Taki.
Five of the great ninja villages had participated, but only Konoha reached the finals, and not just one, but three teams. It was incredibly ironic, and you could imagine the faces of the rival Kages when they found out.
The jonin from the four villages were incredibly unhappy and ashamed.
Terumi Mei ignored this, satisfied with the decision to protect Chojuro, this indicated that her changes in Kiri were evident. If it were before, even if it meant giving up a comrade, they would have ignored Chojuro and continued the mission.
She considered it partly a victory, it was enough.
Taki was also the luckiest one in that exam, they practically fought a weakling, then waited until the end of the exam and passed directly.
But in the end, it didn't matter much now, at that point, the second exam was over.
