My mother started to scream and cry, blaming my brother.
The moment I saw my father burning, my heart twisted in pain.
I wanted to run to him, but Kash was holding me back.
"No, your fate will be worse. They will attack you," Kash told me, but I shook my head.
On the other side, my mother was also screaming, crying, and hitting my brother, trying to get to her mate.
I hated the way my father's body was burning, but it was too late.
We already knew that whoever stepped onto that ground would lose.
My father did not have to do that.
And it had all happened so quickly.
"You did it!" My mother turned to my brother and grabbed him by the collar. "You told them to shoot him with silver and fire."
My mother continued to accuse him, crying loudly.
"You knew there was poison beneath those petals. And you knew that hitting him with a fire arrow would burn him alive. You knew all of it. You did it!"
