It has been 2 weeks since the discovery of the summoning circle, and final preparations are currently being made by the royal family and Celestia.
They were hard at work making sure that the demon being sent knew what he was doing and would avoid human contact at all costs. Who was the demon being sent?
Sparda, the prince's former mentor and leader of the knights. Once he found out what was happening, he was more than happy to take on this endeavor, but they had to make sure he knew what he was getting into.
"And you're sure you know what to do?" Lucifer asked skeptically.
"Of course, Your Highness! I swear to you I will find the lost prince and return him to his rightful place on the throne." Sparda replied, determined and ready.
Though still a bit skeptical, Lucifer gave a small sigh and replied, "So long as you bring him back…but don't forget humans can't find out that demons exist. Dad will kill me if the angels snitch again." Lucifer said, a bit annoyed.
"Of course, my lord. Know that so long as I'm there, no human will ever learn of my demonic heritage." Sparda reassured Lucifer.
"Good…Lily?" Lucifer said, turning towards the queen of hell, who was currently standing beside them.
"Just…make sure he's safe." Lilith spoke, her voice weak and tired. The last few weeks had not been kind to her. Ever since the prince's disappearance, Lilith had been hard at work within heaven, pleading and searching for ways to find her son.
The reason why she was like this was simple — she was worried. She didn't know what to do, what had happened to her baby boy.
Throughout her immortal life she had never felt as helpless as she did now, and knowing she could never enter the human realm to help in the search for her son…she didn't even want to think about it.
"Of course, Your Highness." Giving them a bow, Sparda turned towards Celestia, who was currently preparing the spell in order to send him to the living world.
Golden sigils began to float around her as she chanted and recited the necessary incantations for the spell to work. After only a few seconds she opened her eyes, which were now glowing with angelic might, and with a loud boom a portal opened, leading to the human world.
Celestia fell to her knees as the spell required more energy to track down someone as powerful as the prince. Sweat beaded down her forehead as the strain from the spell was already taking a toll on her.
"Are you alright?" Lilith asked Celestia as she moved closer towards her, helping her up.
"I'm fine, Your Highness." Celestia replied as she took the queen's hand and rose from the floor. Turning toward Sparda, Celestia spoke.
"Sparda, this portal will take you to the nearest location where the prince currently is. It won't take you directly to him, but it's close enough that you should be able to find him without too much trouble." Celestia said.
Sparda gave her a nod before looking towards the glowing portal, and with a deep breath he readied himself and stepped forward.
But before he could even enter, Lucifer cried out.
"Wait! You forgot your disguise!" Lucifer yelled, causing everyone to cover their ears.
"Lucy! There's no need to scream, we're all standing right here." Lilith reprimanded her husband.
"Oops. Hehe, sorry." Lucifer said, feeling embarrassed.
Looking down at his demonic hand, Sparda began to imagine a human form he could take. Remembering the last time he visited earth, purple demonic flames began to surround him, and not long after, Sparda's demonic form changed into something more human.
He now wore a purple coat along with a vest in a lighter shade of purple, purple pants, and black shoes. The most defining feature, however, was his white hair.
Summoning a mirror, he checked that everything was in order, and once satisfied, he said his goodbyes and walked through the portal, leaving them behind and entering the human realm.
Once through, he found himself in a rather filthy alleyway. It was quite dark, but being a demon, this wasn't really a problem. Looking around for a moment, he began walking in search of a way out.
After walking for a while, Sparda found himself…a bit lost.
As he continued to walk and search for a way out of the alleyway, a sudden scream grabbed his attention.
Turning toward the sound, Sparda didn't hesitate for a second and ran directly towards the screaming voice.
Following the screams, Sparda was quickly able to pinpoint the source, and once he found them, he immediately saw multiple demons tormenting a young woman — ripping at her dress and attempting to have their way with her.
With just a quick glance, Sparda determined that the demons assaulting the human woman were incubi.
"Halt! In the name of the king, cease this now and return to hell at once!" Sparda yelled out.
The incubi quickly stopped and began to slowly turn towards him, but as they turned, Sparda got a better look and saw that something was…wrong with them.
Their bodies were completely mangled, pulsating with dark and bright energy, and their eyes were completely sunken in and weeping thick black tar.
"What the hell." Sparda muttered under his breath.
Finally spotting him, the incubi began to scream and immediately charged towards him on all fours like wild animals, quickly closing the distance and lunging at him, attempting to bite and kill him.
But just as they were about to reach him, they suddenly stopped, and as the seconds passed, their bodies began to collapse into cube-like shapes. With a loud splat, they fell to the ground into a pile of flesh and blood.
Walking past them, Sparda made his way towards the woman and began to heal her wounds. After doing so, he covered her up and lifted her from the ground.
As he carried her away from the gruesome scene and out into the open, the woman finally woke up and immediately looked at Sparda.
"Who…who are you?" the woman spoke, her voice weak but clear.
"Sparda. But that's not important right now. How about you — do you remember your name?" Sparda spoke, stern yet soft.
"My…my name is…Eva." she replied.
"It's good to meet you, Eva. Now let's take you somewhere safe." Sparda replied.
As he carried her into the city, Eva laid her head on his chest and slowly began to fall asleep.
