Chapter 7 - 7 A Simple Jab

If he were to be asked.

How did you get here, into this situation?

The answer would be, i don't know.

Ron knew yes, how he ended up leaning a far distance from the road on his car in the middle of the day, looking at two teens, meters away from each other.

But how he let it happen? That he didn't–wait!

He did, a white haired Chihuahua threatened to damage his driver's seat if his car. In basic he knew why he was here.

He was black mailed by his nephew, into letting him fight in a rocky desert landscape, with a cybernetically enhanced, emotional teen.

Hmm...

When hearing that, it wasn't as bad as he thought, the boy just chose to get beaten.

And why he wasn't worried for his nephew?

Well there wasn't a thing to worry about, not completely at least.

He just stared at the teens as he stared, disappointedly now.

"The Lil Fruit didn't even ask for what his ability actually is." Ron mumbled to himself as he looked at the grinning boy.

Midas looked at the younger boy. His first thought of him at least after the murder attempt was he was easily irritable.

Yet, when in the car Olive figured out a bit about his background, though some might guess from just his appearance but his parents left him with lesser cybernetic versions, less illegal versions, older ones too.

But now the sharp yet irritable, minded boy seems to have lost sense in his excitement.

Would he say it?

Absolutely not!! He wasn't a responsible or polite kid, he was vengeful at most times.

This was one of those Times.

Midas, stood relaxed looking at the boy across from him. He tilted his head "You going to move?"

Null didn't reply, he stood still with a menacing glare towards Midas, a drop of sweat sliding down his cheek.

'I... I forgot, how could I forget to ask what my ability even is, i probably look really stupid.' he thought as he stood more relaxed than before, 'But really, i don't care. It's more stupid being prideful in this situation so...'

Following this thought process he turned to his uncle and shouted, "What's my ability!?" He asked

'Do you even hold any embarrassment in you?' Midas and Ron both thought.

Ron, stared at the boy for a bit, then sighed.

"If you think you got a chance at winning I suggest you apologize to the golden rabies having dog there." Ron said pointing a lazy finger towards Midas, "He seems quite ready to bite you, might be nasty."

Null looked to his right, the golden skulled teen had his arms up, it wasn't a specific stance from any arts he knew of.

His legs were straight, as he slowly walked forwarded, his back hunched over and his unnatural blue eyes oozed a sort of enjoyment yet to be grasped.

He was anticipating the beating his about to give out.

Null looked swiftly to his Uncle, a bead of sweat evident, "Uncle!" He spoke, his tone slightly expecting.

Ron sighed again, "You'll figure it out!." He said loudly, "After the beating." he said that one quietly though to himself.

Null looked at his Uncle, as a grim expression falling on his face.

'How?'

He thought to himself.

How could his mood spike and drop so much.

'I was happy then excited, then some how my mood slowly fell, as I felt concerned! Now Now! Now i just feel ticked off!'

He turned his head as he fell into a stance, both forearms protecting the sides of his face, as he bent his knees slightly.

As he glared at Midas.

Midas seeing this got close and a step from him he lowered his arms and relaxed his body, standing tall.

He didn't know when, but he seemed to have taken him seriously...

This Olive.

Oh, he knew why, as weak as this boy is the possibility of an ability got him a bit shook, abilities are something that are complex and strange, two people may have the same one, though that doesn't change it can deviate from the original base structure in both people.

But a boy who doesn't know how to use something, doesn't have it at all.

They stared at each other.

Then Midas thought once more, 'Not only that, i think he just hit a spot that really annoyed me.'

In a snap he knocked his arm back, loosed it on him.

Null twisted his waist, brought his right forearm up.

PAH

He was pushed back stumbling as he retreated.

Midas had no patience as he burst forward, letting out large swings, easy to see, predictable...

Yet stinging.

Null felt like his forearms nearly bent in, he saw every attack, and still he couldn't strike back.

The weight in every punch ju-!

'Woah!!' he steadied himself almost tripping as he ducked and stepped in the direction of the attack.

The air cried mourning the failed attempt, as it passed over head.

Midas's left arm made a full swing reaching his right, his body exposed.

Null's eyes gleamed.

He stomped one foot forward and cracked his clenched fist forward.

Bam!

He hit flesh, tough, but still flesh.

He retreated back, arms crossed as he saw a foot launched forward.

His forearm ached, but somethi-!

'He just doesn't give me a break!!'

Midas grabbed his forearms and ripped them apart, Null resisted, as futile as it is.

Midas reared his head, Null tilted back.

Midas processing this reacted, he let go of the forearms, Null not far behind, reacted fast as he push back with his foot.

"Not a chance." Midas lunged as wind bent around him in glee, he grabbed his shirt and brought his head forward.

Crack!

His nose broke by the impact of Midas's forehead as Midas's forehead pulled back.

Then he let Olive's shirt go, "Simple as before."

Null dropped to the floor, his head dizzy. Knees colliding on the rocky floor, his pants the only thing dulling the impact.

Midas looked at the boy, some of the dust from the two moving clung to his hair.

"Hope you learned something." He said, turning to walk back to the car, "A Simple Jab could've done you in, be grateful I played with you."

Null fell to his side, his senses out of line, he tasted blood so that was working all right, his vision isn't swimming... that badly.

His hearing? Well and fine enough to hear Midas's remark.

As he lay there, he checked himself mentally one last time.

Can he feel anything? He sure can, his forearms stung, enduring much of everything, he didn't know when but his ankle began to be sore, the left one specifically and his nose.

Yeah that thing isn't fine at all.

He layed there, as he noticed how slow everything got, as he lingered in this moment as he licked his blood coated...teeth?

Wait, his pain it's!

'Ohhh, i think I get it Uncle, what you meant by I'll figure it out.'

"Well you really showed me huh!" Null shouted his vision steading.

Midas paused, "And!?" He shouted turning back to just be frozen in place.

Null stood slowly, his voice having a mocking edge, "Well I was wondering." Null continued as he stood up more straight with every word, "You learnt that from somewhere right? To control your strength, for sure you did if not, my arms would of been knocked from their base." He smiled his newfull row of teeth pronounced and coated with blood.

Midas felt as if he was back at the passengers seat again, and Olive's voice the same as before, but more mocking then before as he spoke on.

"Let me guess, was it from your dear Mama and Papa after they tossed you out, having had their fill of playing golden dress up, with your body."

Null spoke as Midas's eyes oozed nothing for a length of time, though this didn't stop Null.

"Can I ask, when did they even do that to your face, or did they peel it off before you even got to see how you look." Null's smile widened, not posing anything he said as a question, "Than that poses a big question, how do you look, or wait! Don't tell me you can't answer that too huh... You Inner City Scum."

Midas burst forward with nothing but pure malice.

Null got back in his stance, as he raised his forearms and bent his knees.

His pain, ohhh his pain and soreness it fled, fading into wisps in his eyes...

His blue eyes, iris's clouded and crystalline, as a gold ring circled his dilated black pupil.

He blinked, his familiar purple pink eye returning.

As he stared at Midas, preparing himself with no regrets.

'Take that for 'A Simple Jab' gold dome.'
