Chapter 300 - Exploring the Spatial Rift Once More

Sitting on Roaring Moon's back while advancing toward Vermilion City, Gu Yuan also looked over the intelligence sent to him by Elite Agatha. Compared to the spatial rift Gu Yuan had entered before, the scope of this one was larger, the variety of Pokémon inside was greater, and the maximum strength permitted within was the middle-tier Elite Rank.

It was said that the energy within this spatial rift was very active, which helped Pokémon improve their strength. If that were all, it might not be enough to demonstrate the preciousness of this spatial rift.

The key point lay in the fact that one could stay inside for as long as three months, and there was a very unique specialty found there. In this spatial rift, Pokémon with Elite Rank strength could transmit their purest power into any object for a Pokémon of the same type to absorb.

Because it was the purest form of power, it would not have much of a negative impact on the absorbing Pokémon. Conversely, it could help a Pokémon quickly increase its strength or be used to break through the bottlenecks between different ranks.

According to League experiments, these special products could only exist due to the rift's unique spatial properties. Even if an object infused with energy was brought out, once the energy was depleted, the original object would become a piece of junk that could not be reused.

Furthermore, these special items were best used for breaking through rank bottlenecks. Otherwise, if used simply to increase strength, they would give the Pokémon a feeling of having an unstable foundation; in other words, their strength would be somewhat hollow.

Even so, the existence of such items was still extremely miraculous; unfortunately, they could only be used for those at the middle-tier Elite Rank and below. To maximize their value, they were best used for a Leader Rank breaking through to Elite Rank, or an initial Elite Rank breaking through to middle-tier Elite Rank.

This spatial rift only opened once every five years to ensure the Pokémon inside could get sufficient rest and wouldn't decline under the League's exploration. To ensure the prosperity of this spatial rift and to allow more of these magical items to be born, there were strict limits on the number of Pokémon each person could capture inside, and everyone would undergo an inspection upon leaving.

Additionally, this spatial rift did not belong solely to the Kanto League; it was jointly held by various Leagues, with each League only having five slots. Due to Gu Yuan's outstanding performance in the Regional Battle Tournament, the Kanto region had obtained an extra slot this year.

Having learned this, Gu Yuan already understood Agatha's intent: he needed to find a larger quantity of these special items to allow his Pokémon to quickly complete the transformation from Leader Rank to Elite Rank. After all, once such miraculous items appeared on the market, they would surely be swept away in a short time.

Trying to rely on buying them involved too much luck; it was better to search for them himself. Even if he couldn't use them, they could be used for trading, which offered a much higher probability of success than trying to buy them.

Closing the interface and putting away his Trainer ID, Gu Yuan couldn't help but look forward to this spatial rift journey, wanting to know if those items were truly that miraculous. But before that, it was still better to honestly accumulate points, as that was the foundation of his standing.

In this way, while heading toward Vermilion City, he continued to shuttle through forests and clash with powerful Pokémon. Finally, within the time specified by Agatha, Gu Yuan successfully arrived in Vermilion City.

According to his estimates, even without the help of those items, Charizard would only need at most one more month to successfully break through from Leader Rank to Elite Rank! But if he could take a shortcut, Gu Yuan would not mind.

"I knew you'd arrive right at the deadline. If it were anyone else, I might have given this slot to someone else."

"For now, go to your room and rest. When it's time to depart, I'll introduce the others to you."

Arriving at the hotel mentioned by Agatha, Gu Yuan saw the person in charge of this operation, Dar.

"Aren't you Elite Bruno's assistant? How do you have the time to come and lead us to the spatial rift location?"

Seeing that it was an acquaintance, Gu Yuan asked with considerable surprise.

"Don't think I can't tell what you mean. You're trying to say that as an Elite's assistant, I shouldn't be this idle, right?"

Having seen through Gu Yuan's intent at a glance, Dar began to explain. After their previous interactions, Dar didn't mind Gu Yuan making some harmless little jokes with him.

"Let me tell you, it's all because I performed well last time. So, the League felt that this kind of meeting work is most suitable for me, understand?"

"Since you're so relaxed, I'll give you a reminder."

"As far as I know, among the trainers from the Unova League entering the spatial rift this time, quite a few of them harbor great malice toward you."

"You should know that in a spatial rift, even if you die, it's difficult for us to find out who did it. After all, quite a few trainers stay there forever every time we enter."

"The most critical point is that you, kid, are a bit too dazzling. While your previous opponents in the Regional Battle Tournament haven't even qualified to take this step, you've already begun working on breaking through to the Elite Rank."

"Guess what those geniuses from other Leagues will think? Won't they want to test you out, or perhaps give you a little lesson as punishment for your previous arrogance in the Regional Battle Tournament?"

After speaking, Dar stopped and instead looked at Gu Yuan with a face full of smiles.

"Will everyone be spread out after entering the spatial rift?"

"Yes!"

"Then there's no problem. I also happen to want to see how strong those Elite Ranks can be."

"Even if things go south, as a Psychic, would I really be caught so easily by those people?"

Looking at the confident Gu Yuan, Dar nodded inwardly with satisfaction. For a trainer, the most important things were confidence and the courage to constantly face difficulties head-on.

"Don't just talk a big game; you still need to be careful where caution is due. After all, you aren't the only one who possesses Mega Evolution."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

"Mhm, go rest then."

"Will do!"

Taking his room card, Gu Yuan quickly found his room. Instead of rushing to lie down on the bed to rest, he went into the bathroom first.

Along the way, in order to maintain travel speed while constantly fighting, he hadn't had much time to wash up. Now that conditions allowed it, Gu Yuan naturally wanted to give himself a good cleaning.

Feeling the water flow over his body, Gu Yuan also began to think about the upcoming spatial rift journey. Just as Dar said, there might be many people in the spatial rift who wanted to make a move against him.

Even if they only wanted to teach him a lesson, being targeted in a dangerous spatial rift was inherently extremely hazardous. After all, the Pokémon in the spatial rift were highly aggressive.

Quite a few trainers in the past had died under the pincer attacks of Pokémon within the rift. While Gu Yuan was pondering what he should do, Dar was also collecting intelligence on the other participants for him, trying his best to ensure Gu Yuan's safety.
