Chapter 441 - Chapter 440 : Invading the White House

What Ultraman and Owlman didn't know was that Batman received the news the moment Wayne Manor was invaded.

Ultraman thought that as long as there was no one else in the Manor, he could come and go as he pleased, but he didn't know that Batman had long since established a brand new early warning system there.

Batman had long ago learned of Ultraman's escape from Hal Jordan.

At the time, his first reaction was to guess that Ultraman would very likely come looking for Owlman.

If he still held fantasies about the future of the Syndicate, he would definitely come to the smartest person within the Syndicate.

So he made a small arrangement in the Manor, an arrangement that even Ultraman, with his X-ray vision, would never understand.

And Owlman, who *could* understand, didn't know that Batman had prepared these things in advance.

Upon receiving the message, Batman immediately returned to the Manor. He had originally intended to deal with the Joker Gang's problems.

But compared to those anarchists, Ultraman was clearly more dangerous.

When Batman appeared before them, Owlman wanted to warn Ultraman not to underestimate his opponent.

But Ultraman had already scanned Batman's entire body with his X-ray vision; he knew that beneath that battle suit was merely an ordinary person.

"I have to say, you have a lot of guts," Ultraman sneered, "Do you think I wouldn't dare to crush you?"

Batman stood before him; Ultraman only needed to reach out to touch him. This was the distance of Death.

But he appeared calm and composed.

"If that's the case, why don't you come over?"

Ultraman was about to make a move when, before he could act, white lights suddenly illuminated the surrounding walls.

Owlman only felt a warm sensation from the light on his body, but Ultraman's face instantly changed drastically, and he quickly pulled his black cloak over his head.

Those were Sun lamps!

Now that he understood Ultraman's weakness, Batman naturally wouldn't fail to exploit it. He not only installed Sun lamps in all locations of the Manor but also disguised them.

Ultraman's luck was truly terrible; if he had sought anyone else, he wouldn't have encountered such a situation.

But this wasn't the only "gift" Batman had prepared; he had something even more exciting!

His nano-suit rapidly began to reassemble, transforming into a new battle suit with flashing white breathing lights; the black Batman became White Batman.

One of the benefits of nanotechnology is that you never know what it will become before nano-reconstruction.

So Ultraman's previous X-ray vision and scans became useless. Batman reached forward and grabbed Ultraman's black cloak. He pulled hard, exposing Ultraman to the Sun lamps.

Ultraman instantly felt a stinging sensation all over his body, and the familiar feeling once again enveloped him.

Batman didn't give him a chance to react, quickly moving forward to attack, unleashing his fists upon Ultraman.

Seeing this, Owlman quickly retreated, but he neither took the opportunity to escape nor avoided the battlefield. Instead, he found an optimal viewing position, enjoying Batman's pummeling of Ultraman.

Batman had no personal grudge against Ultraman; therefore, his moves were primarily focused on control and grappling.

But it wasn't long before he noticed that Ultraman's physical strength was still very high. Although the power of the battle suit could still injure him, it wasn't enough to truly break through his physical defense.

To prevent any accidents, Batman was prepared to increase the output power, but Ultraman suddenly looked up at him, his eyes somewhat hazy.

Batman analyzed through his goggles and quickly discovered that the other party had just secretly absorbed Kryptonite.

According to intelligence, for a period of time after freshly absorbing Kryptonite, Ultraman's abilities would have a significant leap, very likely breaking through the limitations of the Sun lamps.

He originally thought Ultraman would take the opportunity to attack, as he had just been strengthened, but unexpectedly, the other party merely glanced at him before flying directly towards the ceiling, smashing through a hole just big enough for one person and soaring into the sky, disappearing in a blink of an eye.

Batman was still performing tactical maneuvers, and this sudden escape left him somewhat bewildered. He just fled?

He could clearly still fight!

Batman was not feigning surprise; he was genuinely astonished.

Honestly, he himself wasn't confident in being able to suppress Ultraman, who could fight and power up by consuming drugs, so he had envisioned a tough battle ahead.

"Didn't expect it, did you?" Owlman sat aside, laughing softly.

Batman looked over; the other party had poured himself a glass of wine.

Fortunately, Ultraman had just broken in, and some restricted areas here had been deactivated, which was why he was able to swipe a bottle of wine from next door. He couldn't drink this stuff while imprisoned.

"Ultraman is never brave, Bruce," Owlman elegantly raised his glass and took a small sip.

Penguin should really see what a truly elegant gentleman looks like, but unfortunately, this gentleman was a madman.

He continued, "He is merely a mortal with the power of a god. You just saw it; as soon as Ultraman realizes there's danger for him here, his first reaction isn't to confront, isn't to think of a way to break the situation, but to flee."

He took another sip: "I suspect this might be something he learned from Kryptonian. I have to admit it works most of the time, and this time is no exception."

Batman's battle suit reverted to black, and at the same time, the surrounding Sun lamps also extinguished.

As Owlman said, if Ultraman chose to continue fighting, although it would be very difficult, Batman was not without a chance to win. His chance lay in the ubiquitous Sun lamps throughout the Manor.

And Ultraman also had a chance to win. From the brief exchange just now, Ultraman was clearly not completely powerless.

If he possessed a sufficiently tenacious fighting will, the outcome of this battle would still be unknown.

Unfortunately... Batman didn't think he would lose, but Ultraman's'sensible' approach gave him a headache. Once Ultraman decided to flee, Batman would absolutely not be able to catch him.

"A drink?" Owlman raised his glass to the frowning Batman.

Batman stepped forward and used nano-particles to assemble a silver cup for himself. Little Thomas raised an eyebrow.

"Is such caution necessary?"

Assembling a cup with nanotechnology was naturally not for showing off, but for detecting if the wine had been drugged. As a seasoned old fox, Batman was very careful about this.

After pouring a glass, Batman drank the liquid.
