Gunfire exploded somewhere behind the main chamber again, louder this time, sharper, echoing violently through the metal corridors. Shouts overlapped with alarms while guards flooded the upper level from multiple directions.
Aiden's pulse slammed hard against his ribs as Noah pulled him toward the stairwell.
"We move now."
The remaining captives stumbled downward ahead of them, terrified and disoriented. Some could barely stay upright. Others clung to each other while descending the concrete stairs too fast, panic driving them harder than logic.
Leon stepped toward the corridor entrance again, glancing around the corner briefly before pulling back.
"They're redirecting toward the east side."
Noah's expression darkened immediately. "How many."
"At least ten."
