Matthew Atkinson & Natalie Russell
Sixth Layer of the Supernatural Realm
One punch!
It killed the Spitestrike, one of the seven ferocious beasts.
One punch!
It cleared all the small monsters on the battlefield.
One punch!
It instantly reversed the already precarious state of human defenses, making them completely safe.
Matthew's punch severely shocked everyone's values.
Those supernatural individuals were dumbfounded. They couldn't believe that there would be such an exceptionally gifted individual among the freshmen.
The native soldiers were also shocked.
They had encountered many foreign people and knew that some of them possessed extraordinary abilities.
But…
They had never seen such a terrifying foreign person as Matthew before.
This had never happened before...
If there had been such a foreign person in the past, they would have wiped out the monsters long ago.
"This, this..."
"Who is he? How did he get into this layer? Is he a freshman, too?"
"Yeah. How did he get into this layer? With that kind of strength, I wouldn't object if you said he was one of those seventh-tier experts..."
"Wait, I know him. He's the gigolo Natalie is keeping, his name is Matthew Atkinson."
"Get lost. You call this a gigolo? What gigolo is this good? If he's a gigolo, then what are we?"
"But he really is Matthew Atkinson."
"Huh? Wasn't it said that this person was just smart, good at observing, and able to foresee opportunities? How could he have such terrifying strength?"
"What kind of ability was that just now? It looks familiar."
"Wait, now that you mention it, I remember something. It seems that a space rift appeared in a city before, and it was saved by a powerful figure named Clark Kent. That expert used this very move."
"Holy crap. I remember that video, it really looks like it..."
"So, Clark Kent is actually Matthew Atkinson from the University of Oxford?"
"There are also differences. Just now, a small amount of scarlet lightning appeared on Matthew Atkinson's fist."
"That space rift incident happened two months ago, and it's obvious that he's become stronger in the last two months."
"Damn. Now I finally understand why Natalie Russell always gets SSS-grade mission ratings. I, Marcus Kelly, didn't lose to Natalie Russell. I lost to this big boss."
"Wait... wasn't he supposed to have a useless ability? How could he have such terrifying strength?"
"Clearly, we were all wrong. The Kryptonian Bloodline isn't a useless ability. It's the strongest ability in history."
"This is important information."
"What's the use of knowing that? This is an Amnesiac Layer..."
"Oh… Shit…"
...
On the city wall, countless supernatural individuals were animatedly discussing Matthew and his power.
Even the native soldiers were whispering among themselves, marveling at the strength Matthew had displayed.
And what about Matthew?
He stood still, waiting for the next wave of monsters to approach.
But…
After he killed the Spitestrike with a single punch, the remaining monsters, seemingly terrified and… all fled.
Really…
He had been worried that if he made a move, he would scare the monsters away.
So, he didn't rush to make a move, waiting until there were more monsters gathered before killing them.
He just didn't expect the Spitestrike to appear and disrupt his plans.
Since the monster wasn't coming, he had no choice but to go and hunt down the monsters.
Thinking about this, Matthew turned around to face the city wall, then leaped up and jumped back onto the city wall from over hundreds of meters away.
It was a jump, but it was like he was flying.
...
When Matthew landed on the city wall, the people there were clearly startled and quickly moved away.
Ignoring the others, Matthew went to Natalie and the others.
At this moment, Filip Walker and the others still wore expressions of disbelief.
Matthew's punch not only killed the monsters but also stunned them.
Only Natalie stared intently at Matthew, a proud smile on her pretty face.
As for Matthew himself, he went straight to the female commander and asked, "Was that Spitestrike the strongest among monsters?"
The female commander looked at him with awe.
Upon hearing Matthew's question, she instinctively replied, "As far as I know, the Seven Ferocious Beasts are the strongest. As for stronger monsters, I have never heard of them..."
"Very good." Matthew nodded, then asked, "Do you know where the monsters' lair is?"
The female commander had by then come to her senses. Hearing Matthew's words, she seemed to realize what he was going to do.
And this could lead to the very thing she couldn't have even hoped for before.
If this foreign person could cleanse the monsters from the Abyss, she would never again have to lose anyone from her own country against the monsters.
She swallowed hard and nodded, saying, "I know. The monsters' lair is less than thirty kilometers from here."
Then Matthew immediately asked, "Would you like to take me with you there?"
"I'm willing to go." The female commander solemnly agreed.
Going to the monsters' lair was definitely dangerous.
However, she didn't care.
She'd do anything to defeat the monsters.
"Alright. Go and fetch a horse." Matthew said.
Upon hearing this, the female commander immediately turned and left.
After she left, Matthew turned his gaze to the team members.
"As you all saw, the moment I made my move, the monsters were too scared to come any closer." Matthew said helplessly, then continued, "So, I plan to storm into the monsters' lair and kill as many monsters as possible."
Upon hearing this, everyone was momentarily stunned.
Good heavens.
They were supposed to be defending the city, so why did he want to chase monsters into their lair?
Was it his goal to eliminate all the monsters?
"Matthew, isn't this too dangerous?" Filip Walker whispered.
Matthew said, "I definitely won't risk my life by actually going into the monsters' lair. I'll just stay on the periphery, kill more monsters, and earn some mission progress."
At this moment, everyone realized the significance of Matthew's earlier statement that he would kill all the monsters.
But Matthew wasn't entirely sincere in what he just said. Of course, he would start by clearing out the monsters from the outside of their lair.
However, if there weren't any monsters stronger than the seven ferocious beasts, Matthew wouldn't hesitate to venture deep inside.
After all, he possessed Legend-level Observation Haki and could sense the strength levels of other monsters. If he sensed danger, he could quickly leave.
Bobby Burns couldn't help but say, "Matthew, what you just did... killed quite a lot of monsters. Maybe it's enough for us to get an SSS-grade mission rating."
"Maybe. But what if it's not enough? I don't want to gamble on probability." Matthew said with a smile. "Besides, it's still so early. What am I going to do if I don't kill the monsters? I need something to do to pass the time."
Good heavens.
Did he want to kill some monsters for fun?
Is what he was saying even in human language?
Although Matthew made some outrageous remarks, no one thought he was arrogant now.
Seeing that Matthew had made up his mind, the team members stopped trying to persuade him.
"Matthew, shall we go with you? Let's help you kill some monsters." Sam Harris said.
Matthew waved his hand and said. "There's no need."
It was really unnecessary.
Even if they killed monsters with all their might during the remaining time, they probably wouldn't be able to match the number of monsters he could kill with a single punch.
"It's safer for you to stay here. Just be wary of other people and make sure no one attacks Natalie."
Upon hearing this, the teammates all expressed their opinions.
"Don't worry, Matthew, anyone who wants to get close to Miss Natalie will have to step over my dead body."
"That's right. As long as I'm alive, no one can ambush Miss Natalie."
...
Matthew nodded in satisfaction, then looked at Natalie.
"Nat, you stay here and wait for me to come back."
"No problem." Natalie obediently agreed.
Doing this might have made her look like just a pretty face.
However, Natalie's thoughts differed from the others'.
As long as she didn't cause trouble for Matthew, it didn't matter whether she was a pretty face or not.
At that moment, the female commander had already ridden a horse outside the city.
She stood below the city wall, waiting for Matthew.
Besides the horse she rode herself, she also thoughtfully brought a fine horse for Matthew.
Upon seeing this, Matthew bid farewell to the others and jumped off the city wall.
The city wall was only a dozen meters high.
Jumping from that height wasn't much different from walking normally for him.
