The late afternoon sun bathed the southern desert in radiant shades of amber, crimson, and molten gold.
High atop the tallest crest of the great dunes overlooking Tasaka, the desert wind swept across the soft ridges of sand, carrying the distant whispers of the realm below.
Resting coiled across the crest of the dune was the mountain-sized ancient desert beast Zaira, her dark obsidian scales gleaming beneath the dying sunlight.
Her immense armored ridges rose and fell in a slow, rhythmic breath of deep contentment as she surveyed the peaceful lands she had helped save.
Standing together atop Zaira's massive triangular head were Sagiri and Lira, side by side, looking out over the endless golden horizon where northern mountains met southern sands.
The quiet beauty of the world stretched out beneath their feet, bathed in the soft glow of twilight.
Sagiri wore a simple robe of dark linen, having cast aside the heavy iron mantle and sovereign regalia of the Supreme Chief.
