Alex has many abilities.
Victor Quinn was designing the opening cutscene.
He displayed Claws, Blades, Dual Hammers, a Shield, and a Whip.
In addition, he used a powerful move called "Thousand Tentacles," which created a strong visual impact—enough to shock the Adventurers and fill them with anticipation. It greatly enhanced the appeal of playing as Alex and exploring the Blacklight chapter's story.
These were not all of Alex's abilities.
There were still several extremely cool and powerful abilities that had not yet been revealed.
These included various weapon skills and stylish biological armor.
There were also ultimate abilities such as "Bullet Dive," which Victor Quinn personally considered the coolest and most visually stunning.
This approach would satisfy the Adventurers' anticipation for biological weapons like Claws, Blades, Hammers, and Whips, while also surprising them later and enhancing the overall experience.
At this moment, Brandon "Hammer" King unlocked the first weapon: Claws.
Alex's claws were not ordinary claws. They were extremely sharp and infused with biological energy, making it no harder to tear apart a human body than to rip a sheet of paper.
Brandon charged forward.
He quickly rushed toward the soldiers.
His twin claws swept across their bodies.
From bulletproof vests, to flesh, to bone—the entire cutting process met almost no resistance.
With a single swipe, he could split a person in half. Some bodies were cut into several pieces, and the cuts were unbelievably smooth.
Bloody and brutal.
The visual impact was intense.
While playing Alex, Brandon's mindset was also influenced by the character. He instinctively looked down on ordinary humans with the mentality of a biological overlord.
It felt like a predator at the top of the food chain facing its prey. Even the bloody methods of killing didn't make him uncomfortable.
His claws tore through flesh repeatedly.
Severed limbs fell everywhere.
Blood sprayed through the air.
Brandon wasted nothing. He activated his absorption ability, and viral tendrils captured the torn bodies and absorbed them into his own.
Killing while consuming and replenishing his energy at the same time made him feel unstoppable.
Soon, most of the soldiers were dead.
Brandon then faced another Hunter.
When his claws struck the Hunter's tough skin, they immediately opened a massive wound.
"Effective!"
Previously, he couldn't even scratch the thick-skinned Hunters.
But now, with this new ability, he could easily damage them.
This clear improvement excited everyone watching.
Brandon's confidence surged as he fought the two Hunters.
The intensity of the battle amazed the Adventurers watching in the Secret Realm lobby.
With his strong regeneration and attack power, he eventually killed and absorbed both Hunters.
"Awesome!"
After what looked like a fierce battle—but was actually one-sided—Brandon devoured the two Hunters. Not only did he fully recover his energy, he also felt his strength increase further.
"Brothers!"
"Hunting Hunters is basically a miracle cure!"
"The improvement isn't as huge as when I first gained the genes, but absorbing one is still equal to dozens of Blackwatch soldiers. I can feel my strength increasing again!"
Soon another squad of soldiers arrived.
About a dozen of them.
"Perfect timing!"
"Let's test something!"
Brandon stabbed his claw into the ground.
The earth cracked open.
Black bone spikes erupted from the ground, piercing several soldiers instantly. Some were even torn apart on the spot.
The remaining soldiers were terrified.
"Retreat!"
"Call for backup!"
They tried to escape the slaughter.
But Brandon moved like a ghost.
He instantly caught up with them.
After passing them, he crossed his claws in front of his chest and struck a cool pose.
The Adventurers barely saw the attack.
Half a second later, the soldiers' bodies split apart into neat pieces—each cut into seven or eight sections.
The viewers in the lobby were stunned.
At first, Alex's awakened strength was around Tier 2, 3-Star to 4-Star.
But after a round of killing and absorption, he awakened biological claws and skills like Ground Spike Attack and Rapid Charge Slash.
His strength clearly reached Tier 2, 5-Star, even approaching the peak of that level.
This wasn't a small improvement.
It was several times stronger.
One of the biggest highlights of the Blacklight chapter was the protagonist's rapid growth.
Enemies that were difficult one moment became easy the next.
And defeating them provided massive power increases.
This progression created a strong sense of satisfaction.
Although the fighting was exciting, time was limited.
Brandon quickly escaped using shapeshifting and returned to Dina's safe house.
Dina asked,
"What happened over there? I heard a huge commotion."
Brandon replied honestly,
"I found Elizabeth, but she refused to talk and escaped the Gentek building."
"What? She escaped?"
Dina looked shocked.
"According to recently declassified documents, Elizabeth has been in a vegetative state for years. She barely reacts to external stimuli."
That was strange.
When Brandon first saw her, she really did seem like someone in a vegetative state.
But everything changed when she sensed his presence.
With her abilities, escaping the Blacklight Organization should have been easy. Yet she allowed herself to remain imprisoned for over a decade.
Something was definitely wrong.
Brandon said,
"Either way, that lead is gone for now. I need new clues to recover my memories."
Dina pointed to a location on the map.
"Then try here."
Brandon frowned.
"Where is that?"
"You've really lost all your memories," Dina said.
"That's your home."
After some explanation, Brandon learned it was Alex's apartment—where he had lived for several years before the incident.
Perhaps returning to a familiar place might trigger his memories.
However, Dina warned him.
"Blackwatch would never ignore your home. There could be an ambush."
Brandon scoffed.
He might not be able to defeat Elizabeth.
But he had no fear of ordinary Blackwatch soldiers.
Soon he arrived near the apartment building.
After checking for traps, he entered.
Inside, Mia Carter asked,
"Did you remember anything?"
Brandon shook his head.
"It feels familiar… but I still can't remember."
Then Peter King suddenly said,
"Hammer, look at the photos on the wall. There's a woman standing very close to Alex."
Brandon walked over.
Indeed, many photos were displayed there.
One showed Alex holding a blonde woman.
The moment he touched it, memories flooded his mind.
They were all about that woman.
Brandon said excitedly,
"I found a clue! She's Alex's girlfriend. If I can find her, maybe I can uncover the truth and recover my memories!"
But before he could think further—
A faint ticking sound came from under the table.
Boom!
A massive explosion engulfed the apartment.
Flames swallowed Brandon's body.
"Hammer!"
The Adventurers shouted in shock.
Across the street, inside a surveillance room, a man in a suit smiled coldly.
"Success."
"Deploy the ground forces. Even if only fragments remain, bring them back."
This man was Captain Mark Marshall of Blackwatch.
He had planted bombs inside Alex's apartment.
But moments later—
A black figure leaped from the burning building.
Alex landed from more than twenty floors up.
Completely unharmed.
Captain Marshall stared in horror.
"Even that explosion couldn't kill him… What kind of monster is he?!"
