Chapter 29 - Chapter 27: OMEGA

(ORION LIGH)

For one I don't know what's going on here. No one has uttered a single thing, we are all just staring at each other.

I just got off a call with my dad. He didn't know where Eira was. She had been taken to school that morning and he left her at the care of her teacher. How this little girl got out of the school without anyone noticing is beyond me. How can a little child do that?

"I don't like that, can we have ice cream instead, mister."

I give Colton a look that stops the smile forming in his face playing with Eira. She's going to be grounded for the foreseeable future till she's grey and old.

"Princess, I don't think your Papa would like you being spoiled like that, but we will have ice cream once he's calmed down okay," He whispers the last statement to her but I still catch it.

We have been waiting for someone to come in personally, I don't know what's going on here. As soon as we got in we were told to wait for someone to come. Whoever it is we are waiting for for sure is taking their time to get here.

I'm not against it, I stand up and go take Eira from Colton who leaves his arm with little resistance. She knows not to. I'm very sure she also knows she's in trouble and doesn't know how to get out of it.

"Honey, how did you get here?"

"I took the wheel go round and round down the path, over the bridge and down the road and tadaa I was here."

Note to self limit screen time for her.

"Why this building? Little angel."

"I saw misshter on the Telly, I wanted to come too. Did I do something bad Papa?"

The rest Colton's parents had filled us in on. Apparently they found her in the lobby looking for mister. Tried finding out who her parents were, without any luck brought her up to their office.

One thing though that's on my mind is the way Colton's mom is staring at her as if she just saw something impossible or like finding a lost treasure of some sort.

She squirms out of my lap and goes to where she is to show her something on her backpack. Honestly you'd think that you're seeing something that has happened more than once which is impossible considering that this is the first time that she has met her. She's always weary of strangers, I don't know why she's cozzing up with her.

Just as Eira's giggle is filling up the room. The secretary knocks and enters the office.

Apparently the person we were waiting for has arrived.

A short man in his early sixties enters, supported by a tall lady in lab coat, she has the scientist look. Where she's wearing glasses and her hair is tied in a bun with a pen striking across the bun.

He stops and looks at my daughter before looking at me. He smiles warmly, his eyes wrinkling at the edges. However, his smile is sad.

"You must be him. You look so much like them, you parents."

"I'm sorry you knew his father?"

"I knew his birth parents. They were my favorite students. They used to play with my little daughter here. I'm sorry I didn't reach out before. I was embarrassed for not doing anything for them."

I shift on the seat. "What are you talking about?"

"Where should I begin ? I'm sure you're still curious about how you were even able to carry your little child."

I look over to where Eira is. She's engrossed in playing with her dolls. Of course I've always wondered but the hospital I was brought in wasn't the normal hospital but something that had far more suitable expertise not to mention everything was top tier. I knew not to go questioning anything.

"Your parents were not just ordinary scientists, they had been working on a way to lessen pregnancy deaths for women. Not only for humans but also animals. Something happened instead. Instead of the previous failure they had expected something else to come out of it, but it led us to something else."

"When you say something else what do you mean?" My voice comes out more raw than I'd have expected it.

Colton's hand finds mine, his warmth sipping into my hand. I look over at him and I don't need to know what's on his mind. All I know is that it's calming.

"They created something that could alter the biology of every human regardless of their gender. We call it the beginning of something new (Alpha) and the end of something bad (Omega) but it doesn't affect everyone but that doesn't stop them from doing anything their body is used to."

"Uncle, what does that mean?"

Colton asks the old man who I'm just realizing right now didn't even introduce himself. He just started going into specifics. I honestly don't care if it relates to my parents and me.

" Your parents experimented on themselves. Your mother had an inherited condition where women die after giving birth, the first effect of the pregnancy being lost of sight."

"I'm an experiment?"

Colton squeezes my hand tightly.

"Yes you are a successful one. You're the first of your kind. You are the first O-Omega."

The young scientist which I'm assuming is Colton's cousin says.

"What does that mean?"

"It means your body was altered and modified. However you weren't the only person who was experimented on once someone who wasn't supposed to know came to know about it."

Eira.

"What about her? Did I pass it on to her?"

My beautiful daughter, she's my everything.

"It's too early to tell but once she reaches 16 she'd be able to present."

"But how I mean does anyone just get to make him, you know."

His face is all cherry red. What's he asking about...

"That's where you come in. You're also a product of the experiment. Your father was scared for your mother and had her injected too."

Colton's mother chokes on a gasp of air, it's almost like a sob.

"What? Am I an Omega too."

Is he also an Omega? Now I'm curious.

"You're not, there exist two designations only luck for you, your mother was injected with the dominant genes. You're an Alpha however not the first A-Alpha."

"Are you saying someone else is?"

The lady looks at the old man before locking eyes with Colton. Her eyes change colors, her blue eyes shine literally.

"I'm the A-Alpha. I was the first female to be injected with it since no other male could withstand it. My blood was used to create the first alpha serum since it didn't reject me. The experiments were supposed to be used only on females so a variant had to be used on you."

"Wait, what about me?" If it was supposed to be only for females how come I'm the first O-Omega?

"Your mother didn't know your gender then. You're a surprise that nobody knew but after they knew something was wrong with you. It was already too late hence the Omega designation. However your mother's genes provided a new solution after we monitored you during her pregnancy."

"The world is going to change," The old man begins, "they already released the two genes through the water ways anyone who's drank it would have children who have designation."

I look over at Eira who's still playing with her toys oblivious to anything.

"We have been monitoring you since you were born. We had to take you in when you were with her," she gestures to where Eira is, "I don't mean to come out as mean or anything but you're the first successful experiment, you're essentially a treasure."

I don't even know how any of this came about just because they saw my daughter. Have they been watching me all this time? I have so many questions including how my daughter actually managed to get here nothing makes sense at all. Are any of my questions going to be answered it seems like we are not getting out of here any time soon, but I want to know something else.

NOTE: I HAD THIS PLAN TO UNVEIL IT AS AN OMEGAVERSE EARLIER BUT I WANTED TO CREATE AN OMEGAVERSE UNIVERSE FOR ALL MY STORIES SO THAT THEY'RE ALL CONNECTED.

(They all happen in the same universe but different timelines.)
