I was shocked and stared at him then back at the demon king who paused. Maybe this could work after all. I nodded too, supporting my father's words.

The demon king smiled then. "What good taste you have, there's a reason why we belong to each other after all. I'm into women too."

Not because it was bad — it wasn't. The performers were talented, the costumes were impressive, and the children were absolutely enthralled. But the show was too short. Two minutes. That was all. Two minutes of watching actors portray me and Zorathys, two minutes of dancing and dramatic gestures and exaggerated romance, and then it was over.


The performers took their bows. The crowd applauded. And I sat there, staring at the empty stage, wondering why I had just spent twenty-four gabin on something that lasted less than it took for me to kill Zorathys and roast him over a pit while enjoying it.
